How long before Verizon stops it again?
CDM9900 PDF file says Sept 30

It says:
"The Wireless Devices Group announces the launch of the Audiovox CDM-9900 to the product line-up September 30th.
Audiovox will send Launch Kits to all Verizon Wireless Direct locations to arrive week of September 6th.
Call Out Cards for the CDM9900 will be shipped directly to the stores for receipt no later than September 7th."
So now it DOES look like it will be the 30th and not the 7th
Is this phone really that good?
Has anyone had either of these things happen?
Another strange thing happened today. Someone called me, but instead of the phone ringing, I heard my own voice, which I recognized as being one of the voice notes I had recorded yesterday! š

BitPim W/ Audiovox CDM-9900?
I'm considering the Audiovox CDM 9900 or the LG VX7000.
I had the LG VX700 for 2 weeks before the returned it for the Motorola V710. I was happy with the VX7000 when I had it, but when I saw the screen on the CDM 9900, I was very impressed!
I have used BitPim with the LG VX7000, for uploading and downloading ringtones and images, so that worked great.
BUT, has anyone used BitPim with thier CDM 9900? Can you even?

MP3 ringtones no workee for me.
clipped 5 seconds of a song I liked and saved as .wav
converted to MP3 using iTunes (mono, 16kbps and mono 64kbps)
the file sizes were 12k and 43k respectively
renamed the files to file.mid
the small file came through, put when I press play, no sound happens, although it takes the expected duration for the phone to act like it finished playing.
the large file got "dropped" as in the attachment wasn't sent to the phone. (actually, it was named file.MID, does capitalization matter?)
any tips before I waste another $.25

Hello, this is Darth Vader calling .....
I use my phone primarily as a business phone, and yesterday I made a call from my apartment to someone senior at my company, and he said to me, "Kevin, do you mind taking me off speakerphone -- I can barely make out what you're saying." The problem was that I wasn't using the speakerphone -- I was using the phone normally, speaking directly into the mouthpiece. I didn't panic just yet, since the call on my end sounded crystal clear. I just figured that the problem was entirely on his end. But I made several other calls after that, and THREE PEOPLE said that I sounded like Darth Vader, with a considerable...

Repost but need help. What am I doing wrong? (mp3's)
I am trying to get mp3's to use as my ringer on my CDM-9900. What's my problem? I am using the steps that are listed in the tutorial.
1. Download clip from walmart.com
2. Change the downloaded clip's extention from .mp3 to .mid (shows up as a .mid on my desktop)
3. Send the clip as attachment with yahoo to my phone # at @vzwpix.com
4. When it arrives at my phone and I open the message I get "file type .midi not supported"
5. If I try to save it I get a "no song in current slide"
Call me stupid but if anyone could please walk me through the process again I would be a very happy camper.
I am using a Macintosh not a PC if that makes a difference.
