Just got phone yesterday, was on the web 2 hours last night. Certainly not as fast as my cable on the desktop but it did seem faster than a dial up modem. I went to a site and downloaded a picture but I haven't figured out how to save it yet. I don't think you can with Verizon (that part of Verizon sucks). Went to Ebay but the search kept crashing it. Read some news stories (very easy), did a couple searches. I'll try more this weekend and let you know.

I use the free WAP, and although I can't access msn I can get just about everything else. Although it's not as fast as DSL, it's a whole lot faster than dial-up.

I tested the free WAP using the google home page method and all I got was text. If that's the best I can do, why bother? Surely there's a way to get a normal looking web page with pictures, etc. What do I need to do?

change your homepage to something other than google, such as mobile.msn.com... not sure why u get text with google as your homepage...

i have a question though... i've had my free wap working perfectly for about a week or so, and then today while i was in physics (super boring, lol) i tried to access it, and i got this: "HTTP Error: 403 Forbidden" what in the world happened??? all of my settings are the same, homepage is mobile.msn.com... i haven't changed anything.. do u...

Very Interesting,
It seems to me, that the reason we had to change the home page to google.com in the first place was because msn.com "IS" the site used by Verizon. So using google was the workaround. Right? So my logic tells me that using msn.com would automatically link you directly to Verizon which you don't subscribe to hence the reason you're getting a forbidden message. What I can't figure out is how come you had access previously.
Of course, I've never done this before so I'm only guessing. I'm still waiting to see if the google.com home page thing is really free. It just seemed way too easy. Except of course for the "text only" issue. Let me know how it all works out for you.

Now, if we could only figure out how to ...
