Design Flaw?

I am trying to assign the phonebook as a shortcut in my menu, but it will only allow me to access one contact instead of the entire phonebook. I was wondering if anyone else is having this problem? If not, any tips on how to correct it?

I don't think you can assign Phonebook to MyMenu, but I'm not sure I would consider it a flaw.

I don't think you can assign any of the items that are first level menu items of the Default Menu. I think the designed purpose of the MyMenu feature is to give quicker shortcut access to items that would normally be several levels deep in the Default Menu.

Thanks for the insight Vegainey. I forgot that there is already a shortcut for my contacts with the right soft key. However, the phone does allow you to do a shortcut for phonebook, but only for a specific contact. Perhaps this is for frequently called contacts to prevent having to scroll through the list?

Actually, Phonebook has several functions including Contacts, Adding New Entries, Speed Dial #s, etc. and can be accessed via the Main Menu.

Contacts is the submenu of Phonebook that can also be accessed directly from the right softkey.

A Specific Number for a single Contact can be set up for quick access in several different ways depending on personal preference. It can be assigned to voice dial, or a 2 digit "Quick Dial" number, or any of 9 MyMenu positions. Or for those numbers you just can't get enough of, you can just hit send once, and look for it in your recently called number list. And, if all else fails, you can actually key in the phone number one digit at a time and press send to call, just like a regular phone. 😉
