Re: when will the whining stop?
... when it stops working. Unfortunately, too many people break policy and give whiners what they want just to stop the foot-stomping and breath-holding, so it continues.
Re: can i start with the number we'll be working with, area code first?
Me: "May I have your name and mobile number?"
C: "Joe."
Me: "And your last name please, Joe?"
C: "Smith."
Silence.
He thinks it's my turn now. He's already forgotten the second part of the question.

Poor phone....
Re: the sup call
The only time I think sups should do what a previous rep wouldn't is when it involves something beyond the rep's authorization. If it's just a matter of changing a "no" to a "yes" to placate a wildly ranting caller, that undermines the rep who presumably researched the policies before rendering an opinion. It makes the term "empowerment" a catch-phrase devoid of truth, and their months of training dismissable proportionate to a caller's fury. A ...
Gleam
The Gleam is a beautiful phone; pictures don't do it justice. Those who like the Razr form-factor, especially the pink Razr V3C/M's shiny metal keypad, will likely also be delighted with the Gleam's slim shininess. Kudos to Samsung for this aesthetically pleasing handset.

Re: 8800 venus, 10000 voyager
They could borrow from the band HIM the name "Venus Doom," as in doom for other carriers now that this is coming out. Like the Apple U2 edition, there could be a heartagram special edition phone! :D
Re: 8800 venus, 10000 voyager
Haha, love it! Next up: LG Covet & Lust. Let's leave the Sloth for another network, though.
Re: Are you kidding me?
:D This is an exciting surprise! I've become a bit weary of people bashing VZW's phone selections, when the Chocolate, Env, various iterations of Razr and Q9M are all innovative and versatile. If a fast, dependable network didn't impress the people who just wanted white-hot equipment choices, these should satisfy every telephonic need. Until people come up with new requirements, lol.
Re: I knew it was too good to be true....
If I don't want messages from a group, the solution's quite simple. I don't sign up to their mailing list. I'm glad to be thought of as intelligent enough to employ that selectivity on my own. :)
Re: Verizon reverses on abortion-rights messaging
It makes sense that people would be allowed to choose what to read on the phones that they pay for. I'd hate to think that Big Brother controlled everyone's communication habits; fortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case.
Re: You CAN adjust the sound
Sorry, that was LG VX8550, not 550!
Re: You CAN adjust the sound
I'm very happy with my Q9M. It looks great, feels lightweight, and has enough customization options to keep me entertained for awhile.
I was pleasantly surprised by the fullness and depth of the sound, considering I got the Q9M primarily for use as a PDA with some phone calls and music on the side. I haven't had time to play with the settings but it sounded better than the LG VX8550's speaker (also not tinkered with).
Very ...
Re: I will never understand...
I'll never understand how people let their bills get above $300 every month - that's a car payment! There's often an easily identifiable culprit or two. The first time someone ran my bill up like that, they'd be on their own account faster than you can say "AOL." Or they'd get no phone, 'cause we don't live near a bus line.
Re: Are you for real?
"I'm supposed to get free INCOMING calls. It says right here, unlimited In Calling, but there are incoming calls on my bill with charges next to them." 8O
Re: Q v. Treo
I've heard the same ... don't get the Q... but I really want one anyway because it's slimmer and lighter than the other PDA phones. Plus I love the color scheme, hehe. I'm hoping that the criticism is founded on a few bad phones in the bunch, and that I'd be one of the lucky people getting a trouble-free Q.
My beloved Palm Tungsten E's battery is dying and it's not user-replaceable, which ticks me off; ...
Re: red border...is that really really necessary?
That color scheme was the single most striking feature about the Q9M. As soon as its picture popped up on the website I thought, "I want that!"
Having needed a PDA upgrade for awhile now, was already looking, but the black & red just made it irresistible. And just like a previous poster said, the Ferrari laptop caught my eye in exactly the same way. Along with the nice red-striped Motorola Bluetooth stereo headphones. ...
Re: iphone and verizon?
I bet if Apple had gone with Verizon for the iPhone, it would still be selling like hotcakes because there'd be no loud complaints about speed, and Verizon would've figured out how to streamline activation and support *before* its release. It would've been a mega-monstrous success beyond all imagining, gobbling up market share like the iPod before it. Too late now.
For those who say VZW doesn't get the hot phones... here's a great example ...
Re: FINALLY...
I wish it would have a trackball like the Blackberry 8830.
Re: No more CSR
Does a new title for CSRs mean they can get commissions? If there are no techs, where would people bring their phones for troubleshooting?
Re: not irate, not looking for free ****, just plain DUMB
If someone's dumb as dirt and has rocks in the head, it can get into the phone as sand. :)
Re: I understand that you're frustrated...
I let the first profanity slide as a venting allowance, but after that the likelihood of getting anything extra from me is zero.
Some reps reward disrespectful, abrasive behavior with freebies because they get intimidated, so it's always a shock when the tantrum-thrower hear an unpersuaded party on the other end. To me, it's just a sign of bad upbringing to use that language on a total stranger who has nothing to do with their current predicament.
I once ...
Re: things you've always wanted to say to a customer
You'd like a free Treo to replace the one your kid chewed? He left two teeth under the pillow. That's a 50-cent discount off full retail.
You swear he didn't download $800 of games last January and are only just now noticing that bill? What a coincidence. My neighbor didn't realize she was pregnant 'till a baby popped out on her lunch break. Funny how stuff like that can sneak up on ya.
One more curse word ...
Re: It's payday!
Unless it's classified "non-exempt," I'm verrry skeptical about salaried non-commission jobs in areas requiring high output/quotas, unless of course the $$$$$$ is enough to make up for ridiculous amounts of OT plus time lost to commuting. In some businesses you can almost see the whips cracking, the office lights are on at all hours, etc.
Without some sort of guaranteed pay for presence, every minute past quitting time drags down the figurative "hourly rate" of a given ...
Re: Vzw.. now a car repair shop?
Have people ever asked you to "cancel the Internet"? (Sorry, that's not something we support!)
Re: Sorry but I don't feel sorry..
But of course. You were supposed to give her anything she wanted because of that so-called "achievement," which entitles her to unquestioned support and financing by all within earshot. Never heard of this subsidy? You've already been doing it without realizing; take a look at your income, sales and property tax contributions! :)
Re: Next time...
Just imagine what her home is like.... ewww.
Re: Whiney Kids....
The mother's apparent inability to take charge of her child's manipulative behavior in the store proves where the problem originated. Multiply that by the billion children with whom parents like that have "enhanced" our planet over the past decade.
Re: Call Center dynamics
I like that explanation. :) I still don't understand why an entire group gets moved up two rows for no apparent reason. Now you've adopted the crud-infested keyboard of a cow who used to slurp soup at her desk. None of your apps work anymore, so there's an hour on the phone with IT to ruin your stats. You're seated alphabetically because it gives the bigwigs inner peace, until Ms. Brahms & Mr. Grainger quit and the ...

Re: and 300,000 returned on the third day...
I have a much-treasured EnV also. I dreamed about this phone before it actually existed, so when it became available, it was mine immediately.
Something which should be a top priority when deciding on a mobile communication device... if I'm ever about to die someplace and call 911, they can locate me because the GPS actually works.
I hope nobody in serious trouble ever tries to get help through a map, believing that their phone ...
Re: Boo Freaking Hoo!
Yanno... I often wonder if people really have such pathetic lives... Did their car really break down a minute ago with $2,000 worth of repairs sure to occur, they're months past due, have actually never paid their whole bill but promise to pay next paycheck if you fix 'em up just this once, they have 7, 4 and 3-year olds plus a baby at home which should indicate to all but the most clueless policy-adhering meanies that "I ...
Re: Can you clarify for me?
You have to phrase it like this: "OK so like right now, we're in the middle of the month. So we're gonna charge ya up 'til the 30th, that li'l bit of extra time to catch up to the official start time of your bill. Then it starts for real charging a whole month's worth. Ahead of time. And it'll go on like that from then on, normally. Got it?"
"Yeah!" ...
Re: Your Phone ###
..."How would I know it... I never *call* myself!"
Re: Some people...
With all the options available for checking minute, data and text usage, it's amazing when people say they "don't have time" to monitor these, and blame the service provider instead of their own inattentiveness when the bill comes. If they give a kid a cell phone other than a Migo, and pay no further attention to what he/she's doing, what do they expect to happen?
Re: Attn: ATTWS Employees, MUST READ!
That's the answer to probably one of the biggest problems in a call center. High turnover can be solved by increasing the pay -- AND respect -- awarded to people who take flak on the front line. Then they'd stay longer, learn more and give better answers. If they'd absorb outsourced folks as full-fledged employees and give you equal pay & treatment (rather than treating you as a cheap solution)... heck, even pay their own employees ...
Re: A nikoletta moment
Guess she couldn't spare some of that fiery temperament to scold the son for losing it in the first place, or possibly a bit of self-flagellation for not getting insurance on a kid's phone. No, it's all your fault for not immediately jumping to her assistance! Parental entitlement mindset strikes again...
Re: It's an adventure!
I heard about a credit card company's call center that locked people in during a snowstorm so they'd still have someone there to answer the phones. I wondered if they could have called the cops and said they were being held prisoners against their will or kidnapped?
Re: Attn: ATTWS Employees, MUST READ!
I can only imagine the havoc outsourcing would wreak on customer service; how can a company motivate people to provide accurate info and a great attitude if they aren't even considered "part of" the company with all its benefits, etc.? There's no accountability; they could just say anything to get you off their line, knowing they'll never talk to you again. Heck, they might even live on a different continent from most of their callers - why ...
