Nokia PC Suite Not working for my 6230i (not 6230 they just won't help here in US :()
I hadn't for a few weeks used PC Suite 6.6 but when I went to use it today I could not get it to work for the life of me. What is the passcode?? 0000? or shouldnt I need that if I already paired it with my computer even if I unpaired it.
Anyway, I am unable to pair, so I looked to reinstall PC Suite, saw 6.7 and it went on, but does not work. When I connect, which I can do now, I either get a big box with an error, or when I click explore under the phone browser, nothing opens, or if I hit file manager, it says no supported phone attached. FUNNY. This is my phone that had worked. Could it be because I had swapped 6600 phone with a friend of mine and kept his battery? I did not think that batter...

ADVICE NEEDED: LG VX-9800 or Treo 650
Currently I am using the Treo 650 from Verizion Wireless. I found myself recently using the custom features of the T650 less and less. As it so happens, I have a chance to pick up a LG VX-9800 for cheap (not dirt cheap, but cheapER). So I have a few questions:
1) Can the LG VX-9800 sync with my Mac's contacts in anyway?
2) Can I access multiple pop3 email accounts with this unit?
3) What is web surfing like on this unit?
4) What is signal strength like on this unit?
5) IM software? Free or download?
Overall, those of you who have this unit, do you like it? Was it worth it? If you're a Mac user, can you sync it easily?
Thanks,
- MT

Cingular Wireless, the largest US mobile carrier, launched its 3G network in 16 cities on Tuesday, becoming the first mobile network operator in the world to deploy a 3G network based on HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) technology.

After some initial confusion over what data cards they were REALLY offering (the website showing the Novatel U730 available last week...then suddenly withdrawn this week without explanation) I called a local Chicago Cingular store, and they said that they had Ai...

T-Mobile roaming experience
I was in an eastern Ohio area which does not have a native T-Mo network, so I was roaming on Cingular. Voice connection (and T-Mo Web) worked fine on my cell phone. But when trying to connect to T-Mobile Internet with my data card, the Cingular network was not allowing a connection, even though T-Mo has roaming agreements with Cingular for data as well as voice.
After a call to T-Mo tech support, and a conversation with an engineer, I was told that the T-Mo engineers would have to contact the Cingular engineers to sort out netw...

Cingular leaks UMTS launch plans
By Dan Meyer
Oct 14, 2005
Cingular Wireless L.L.C. appears set to make good on its claims to launch high-speed UMTS/HSDPA services in more than a dozen markets by the end of the year. The carrier released initial UMTS/HSDPA launch plans on an internal Web site that shows the carrier preparing to cover 18 markets with the high-speed network beginning Nov. 1. The markets covered in the initial launch plans include Dallas, Houston and Austin, Texas; Chicago; Detroit; Baltimore; Boston; Washington, D.C.; Atlanta; Las Vegas; Phoenix; Portland, Ore.; Salt Lake City; San Diego, San Francisco and San Jose, Calif.; and Seattle and Tacoma, Wash.

HSDPA switch-on date for Chicago
I just called Cingular to ask when the HSDPA broadband data service would be available in Chicago. After being switched from the sales rep (who knew nothing about it) to a customer service rep (who had to spend 10 mins researching), I was told that HSDPA will be available in Chicago beginning THIS FRIDAY, Nov. 18!!
I then asked if the local stores would actually be able to sign people up for that service by then, and was told "Yes".
My guess is that, if you walked into a store this Friday, even if you were able to find a salesperson who knew how to register you for that service, you would probably not be able to buy an HSDPA enabled data card there.
If you already ...

Bluetooth Car Kit
Does anyone know if the call ID features work with the car kits. The Parrot CK3100 will display the Caller ID if the phone allows and the motorola IHF100 will announce the caller ID if the phone allows. Does any one have any experience with the PM-325 and either of these car kits?
T-Mobile Internet roaming charges...WOW!!
Roaming outside of T-Mobile's markets:
If you use t-zones and T-Mobile Internet service outside of the T-Mobile network, roaming charges of $10.00 per megabyte will apply.
$10.00 per megabyte!!
Even at EDGE speeds, it is pretty easy to rack up 10 megabytes in a 1 hour internet session. So if I happened to be roaming on a Cingular network, for example, presumably I would be charged $100 for that 1 hour session!!!
Can anyone confirm this from personal experience?
Sounds like T-Mo Internet goes from being a relative barg...
