T-Mobile roaming experience
With T-Mobile Internet and a Sony Ericsson GC83, I have been connecting successfully at EDGE speeds (avg 100+ kbps) in Chicago for months now. This past week was the first time I tried it in a non T-Mobile area.
I was in an eastern Ohio area which does not have a native T-Mo network, so I was roaming on Cingular. Voice connection (and T-Mo Web) worked fine on my cell phone. But when trying to connect to T-Mobile Internet with my data card, the Cingular network was not allowing a connection, even though T-Mo has roaming agreements with Cingular for data as well as voice.
After a call to T-Mo tech support, and a conversation with an engineer, I was told that the T-Mo engineers would have to contact the Cingular engineers to sort out netw...
