Shop Talk
BEST DUMB CUSTOMER EVER!!!
anyways i have been calling the customer many times in the past asking politely for the phone back... he finished his contract 2 months ago but hadn't made any moves to cancel or upgrade.
So today I called and told him that he needed to bring it back. we have been more than gracious, and have helped him finish his contract, and now it was time to bring it back, otherwise i could report the phone as stolen and shut the account down.
he got very pissed at me and told me that he would call his family lawyer and straiten this ...

So a customer fills out a pre approval form, asks us if we can shred it. We say yes. before we do he asks if he can black out his social before we put it through the shredder. ?
Good Monday!
I've been open for exactly 23 minutes (had customer's banging on the door 5 minutes til 10 and I couldn't find the key). I have had 3 customers and 3 visitants.
Visitant #1,
His ex wife has the phones in her name, and gets onto him when the bill comes in and she sees who he has been calling. Ex wife came in and signed Change of Responsibility forms, but didn't leave me any info I can use to look up her account. He comes in and goes nuts when I suggest we call her so he does the typical Visitant threat posture, and threatens to cancel all the lines.... that he isn't authorized on... I just told him to come back later or have her call me to get it all straightened out. He left.
Visitant #2, wanted to return ...

You can set your watch by it.
A customer comes in with a mailer that we send everyone that requires a deposit. It's simply so they can get a credit report and know why they were required to pay a deposit.
Cust: I already paid a deposit. What is this?
Me: We send those out to ever....
Cust: (Interrupts) This is ridiculous!
Me: All this is, is a number to equifax, who will tell you why you paid a deposit.
Cust: I already paid a deposit.
Me: Did you bother to read it?
I hate people
LEAVE ME ALONE!
*sigh*

Just as I predicted
Minutes after the last customer and the last post...
Customer: I'm here for my bill to be credited.
Me: Pardon me? I'm not sure I understand what your needs are today.
Customer: My bill is too high and I'm not paying it. I want you to credit me for the stuff I'm not planning to pay for.
Me: I have no authority to give credits of that sort. If you have a copy of your bill, I can look through it and show you how all of the charges were generated.
Customer: Well, it says I had almost $60 in downloads and 60 text messages.
Me: Did you dowwnload any games or ringtones through GIN or send any text messages that you are aware of?
Customer: No.
Me: Have you been sending ...

So today I get a phone call from a CS Rep. She has called in stating that when she brought the loaner phone back to us, we used the phone to make phone calls on her account....Note: her account had been suspended for nonpayment of a bill totalling $981.xx, which is why she brought the phone back) Her service was disconnected back in like August and she didn't return the loaner to us until early September! This little b**** is tryin to get off of her bill by saying that we used OUR loaner phone, on a suspended account, to rack up min...

Customer comes in and sets a phone on the desk asking for his money back. I know the phone didn't come from my store because I've never stocked it. It's ugly. People only started buying it when it became FREE.
Me: Where did you buy the phone?
Customer: Right here.
Me: Sir, that's not possible.
Customer: It darn well is. Don't you dare call me a liar.
Me: Sir, I have never stocked or sold that phone out of my store.
Customer: Well, I got it from Verizon. You're all the same. You have to give me my money back.
Me: Sir, where exactly did you purchase the phone. I ask because my store is not owned by Verizon Wireless. We are a separate company that sells products and services on beh...

monopoly man
I might as well buy the whole company!
Me: They're asking for a $750 deposit.
Him: $750!? Man, it just keeps getting higer every time!
Me: ....
Him: For that I could just buy the whole company.
He then walked off. For one, I was thinking about pointing out that if the deposit keeps getting higher it's because his credit keeps getting worse. I held back though. And since when can you buy Cingular, or even our agent company, for $750? Really, when could you buy ANY company for $750? People just don't make any sense...

Q vs. 700w
I have never used either of these, but I have a HUGE corporate account that currently has a truck load of 700w's. One guy is interested in possibly switching to the Q. The only thing I need to know.... which one is getting better signal.. Q or 700w? He says his reception with the 700 isn't so hot. He's interested in the Q, because it's smaller. So I just need to know, which has better reception according to your own personal use, or from what you have heard from your customer base.

Managing your managers.
Now, we're a smaller store out in the boondocks of Tooele UT, so the corporate guys don't pay us a lot of attention.
2 months, I've worked here, and yesterday she starts on this tirade of making planners, having daily reminders, planning events and other bullsh!t. Not really anything to help productivity a lot, but more so, to fill time and make us look productive. Then she starts getting on the better side of one of her higher-ups and since ...

was last night a full moon????
Apparently, she bought this hot pink faceplate on the internet and tried to put it on her phone. She admitted that it didn't seem to fit right, but she tried to force it on anyhow. Now her screen doesn't work, her earpiece doesn't work, and she thinks I can just fix it. Looking at the faceplate, it was clearly not made by Samsung. It was made so poorly, it really wouldn't have it the phone. No wonder eveything is broken. Unfortunately, I'm not handing her another phone and I doubt insurance will either if she tel...

Mystery Shops are BS
If it's a slow day, you get bored and have all the time in the world to preach everything about the phones and services.
To top that off, I've seen mystery shop reports and the shoppers are usually clueless. IE...they say the employee at my store had a name tag on when our store doesn't provide name tags. They have also written that they saw certain products demonstrated that we don't carry in our store. The fact is, the execs sitting in the big offices often forget what the real life job is like. They put too much their little tests.
The fact is, I'm busy because I've worked hard to know my prod...
