I just picked up the Storm 9530. I have 30 days to try it out. I was wondering what peoples thoughts were about keeping it, or would it be worth waiting for the 9550? Keeping in mind price and that I have not had any problems with the 5.0 OS. Thanks for input.

Well I went and did something I never do. I just went and upgraded my phone to the Blackberry Storm because my old phone wouldn't hold a charge anymore. I upgraded to the BB Storm without doing much research (I'm usually a research nut). Anyway, come to find out there might be a Storm 2 coming out in September. Anyone have more info on that, because I still have 30 days to return for a small restock fee...should I? ...

cheapest connect plan I could see was $70. Isn't there a cheaper way out than that? I use about 50 to 100 text a month and would like to have email access.

hey mellowlen62, sae that you replied to my other post regarding data plans and smartphones,so you know why i'm asking about this phone. it's a little bulky, but has what i want. i was surprised that the price was so high, because of all the newer streamlined phones.

why does everyone say that about pda smartphones!
Jan 31, 2009, 5:30 PM
in the Verizon forum

Why does everyone say, "why would you want a pda phone without a data plan". Some people just don't need to get on the net, but maybe would like to check email via wifi. Some people just like to be able to sync with there pc to keep Outlook info up to date on the phone. Some people just like the other features and size of some of the new phones. Sorry for spouting off, but some people on ...

thanks, I was looking at those phones too. The reason for the 6900 and not the Dare is that I could at least sync my Outlook with it. I don't believe the Dare allows you to do that.

I did do some research on this site and found info on discontinued phones, but things can change real quick inthis industry, so I was looking for a current answer. If you purchase a discontinued phone i.e. Samsung SCH-i760. Wouls Vz allow activation? Thanks

I was thinking of picking up this phone, since it is one of the few pda phones Vz offers without data plan. I hesitate because of the reviews I've been reading on this site. I was wondering the same things you had mentioned. I hope someone responds. I was also looking at the Centro.

it doesn't look like many people check the thtread for this phone, so I thought I would see if someone could help here. It sounds like you could download a different keyboard for this phone. Anyone know where? Also, is there vpoice recoganition software available for this phone, like Vlingo for BB's?

Might be time to head over to AT&T. I don't think they require a data plan with their smartphones. I agree, why force people to purchase a plan they don't need, but they might want the phone.

Sorry if this question is being repeated. Is a data plan required with this phone? I really would like a Windows Mobile phone, but don't need the data plan. Any suggestions? Thanks

no, I agree...for $5 more that's the better deal. BTW, its not really the money issue, its just that I checked my last six months of voice usage and never went over the 300 mark. A good point was made with the IN calls though. That's why I come here to ask.

Someone had mentioned that VZ had an unmentioned 300 minute plan for 34.99. I was live chatting online with customer service and they said the cheapest plan they had was the 450 minutes @ 39.99. Can anyone confirm the 300 minute plan? Thanks

thanks for the replies. It's not that I'm too cheap, but I just don't use much of any one feature, so I guess I'm just trying to be wise with my money. I don't think I've ever gone over 300 voice, 100 text a month. That's why I have the basic plan now, but need to add the text and would like to have email. I was actually thinking of getting a wifi phone with AT&T, because I can ...

Thanks MidnightDT, Smeone mentioned a Data Plan for $15.00. do you have any info about that or do you know if it exist/ I would consider the Omnia if that is the case.

isn't a smartphone/blackberry data add on charge $30? so if i add that to a $39 plan, it would work out the same ($70) wouldn't it? guess there's no way around it. thanks
