I don't know. My daughter had the 6700 or whatever the previous version was, and that thing was a tank that never died and she loved it. Not all of these phones are awful despite the contingent of bb fans who will tell you otherwise. Not that i'm bashing bb, but seriously, everyone has their own preferences.

hey mellowlen62, sae that you replied to my other post regarding data plans and smartphones,so you know why i'm asking about this phone. it's a little bulky, but has what i want. i was surprised that the price was so high, because of all the newer streamlined phones.

Yeah, I don't understand their pricing at all - sometimes if you look at phones on line, they are way up one day and a week later, the price falls. Then a month later, back up again. I don't get it. I guess there's a method to their madness. I would think this phone would come down in price eventually because it is an older model. If you're going to purchase it without data, I don't see that you'll have the freeze-up issues because you won't be able to access a lot of things if you block data. For texting and calls and scheduling, it should work fine.
