As a customer, I don't care. I want my free BlackBerry Storm. I've been a Verizon customer for over 20 years now and I deserve a free BB Storm. I want it, NOW!

Are you ever going to do anything in the way of helpful participation on this site? You're a brand new member, and I'm already sick of you.

The BlackBerry Storm will probably never be free unless someone buys it for you and Verizon hasn't even been around for 20 years. They formed in 2000 I think.

A very reliable source, I believe it, but we won't know for sure until it goes through.

Transitioning may start in january like bc10 stated. I think they have started transitioning some of the customers over to vzw.

Verizon employees are as much in the dark as Alltel employees are. I would not believe a single word a store rep tells me nor would I believe anything a CS rep tells me. The fact of the matter is, Verizon has not let ANY of their frontline employees know anything. And to be honest, information is given out on a need know basis and unless you're in the corporate offices in Basking Ridge NJ, you do NOT need to know anything.

Yes, I do work for VZW. I am not the type of employee who shares information--correct or incorrect--to make myself look important. If VZW sends me info that is confidential, it stays that way.

And no, I am not a store rep or an 800 rep. Nobody knows anything about the change over. And unless your name is Lowell McAd...

They made us take a training that specifically identified markets that Verizon is divesting and keeping, in addition to other information. I work in a store, on the front line. I just don't know WHEN.

I hope they at least get rid of Chad in a funny way. I can't believe they still have those ads on tv. They should have the VZ tool bag on the ads go psycho and kill them all off and put all there heads on stakes and have them on display outside a VZ store 😈

They probably haven't heard anything yet since the deal is still pending.

Just wait it out, it's going to take time to transition the 5th largest network...
Look at the Unicel buyout, that was approved months ago and it's still not finished.

this is most likely a rumor also; but has anyone heard about vzdub keeping the alltel branch just have all the income funneled in to verizon?

i would think that would be losing part of the point of a merger to begin with, because verizon would lose consumer interest by not really being able to state verizon having the largest customer number. (instead of saying vzw having xxx and alltel having xxx)

any input anyone?

I have heard that as well, except it's only going to happen in markets where no one wants to buy the divested assets, bascially it'll operate as a seperate company "Alltel" until another carrier is interested in picking it up....who knows for sure though...not me that's for sure. 😁

roooooooooger that!

just like Cellular One (Dobson) was purchased by at&t. And Cellular One (Western Wireless) was purchased by Alltel.

And now there is another Cellular One, based in Montana

Exactly! My understanding of the Cellular One name is that it was used by the "A" side carriers when the cellular band was first auctioned off so that's how so many carriers ended using it at one time or another...
