I need to rant!!!

I work 2 jobs. My main job gives me Sundays and every other Friday off. Since money is tight I work at my second job the days that I am off from my main.(yes I work 7 days a week) I kept the 22nd free from both jobs to spend with my sister since it's the anniversary of my mother passing, and have been looking forward to it for a while now.

Now I am told from my main job that it is required I work that day b/c all the bosses are going to be on vacation (cruises, India, etc) and all the salesmen are going to be in a training!!! Granted I am getting over time but hello? Isn't every saturday of my life enough for them? I don't see my supervisor coming in on Saturdays to help me out!!!!! And I would love to take a vacation but don't have...

Wow, I'm impressed!

Had a lady come in that said she bought the enV outright at walmart for about $520 after taxes and stuff. Our enV's retail for $369.99 for once the big box store is more expensive than I am!!!

Beautiful part is, she's gonna go return her enV and come buy a Voyager from me full retail..cuz it's still cheaper than what she paid for the enV at Walmart! Cha-Ching on the data comm's! Woot!

Minute Overage

Why is it customers think they're immune to minute overages? Almost every time I get a call about minute overages on the bill, it's usually followed with the "But it's impossible for me to have gone over my minutes!" statement.

How?

How is it 'impossible'?

"Look at my past months of usage! I never went over my minutes!!"

This usually ends up being a lie, as you will usually see overages for the last 4-5 months.

They all say the same damn thing.

Then they try the "Well, then there must be something wrong with your systems then"
Yes. There is. And your account is the ONLY one to have it happen to. Of all the millions of the accounts, we're gonna pick on YOU. But only because it's impossible for you to go over your minutes b...

Insanity...

So. I'm here sitting in my VerizonBox(tm).

There is at least 4 inches of snow on the ground. At 8 PM, when I am supposedly leaving here, the freezing rain is supposed to start.

The roads are all covered. The delivery drivers for the food place next to me are about to give up on making more deliveries. It's apparently almost impossible for them to drive. The one customer I've had in the past 2 hours said that the main highway I need to take to get home is completley covered, with a set of tire tracks to drive through.

I'm contemplating sleeping in the store... or making my boss come get me and take me home. My car is rear wheel drive and I doubt I'm gonna make it out of the parking lot. This is insane.

To my friends in the wireless industry...

I want to say a big THANK YOU!! Thank you for keeping me entertained through out the day with your rants, raves, customer stories, boss stories, Ray tracking, opinions and reviews.

I sit in a call center all day bored as heck and sick and tired of the getting the same calls everyday.

My only saving grace is the chuckle i get reading the forums. I only wish I could participate, but hopefully when my treo arrives i can pull up our forums on it.

God bless all you out there in customer service land, whether it be in store, call center or where ever. We put up with a lot for not enough.

"i don't understand"

when people don't understand certain concepts with wireless service, do you ever use a real world analogy to help describe the situation? like for example troubleshooting your phone while talking on it, i say "thats like asking your mechanic to fix your car while your driving down the road", etc. anything else you guys use? im running out of smart ass ones, so anything that is sorta sharp, but still ok to say on a call is cool...

AT&T Curve syncing with MAC?

I have a customer who is having some issues with finding the correct software for this to take place and being firewalled I can't go over the steps with him to figure out how to avoid the errors or anything. Does anyone know the walk through steps to have the curve sync with a mac? Or any advice as to what to use for best ease of use while doing this.

cheap lady gets it right back

lady bought a phone from my buddy for a upgrade on t-mobile. They(meaning t-mobile. on the bill) charged her $18 to upgrade so she called them up and they said that they can send her the same phone and not charge her the upgrade fee. So she returns the phone to him and gets one sent to her. She then comes into his store and says can you put the sim card in my new phone. He tells her sure its $18 for me to do it. You wanted to save $18 so that means you dont get personalized service. She walked out. Gotta love it. She wants service but doesnt want to pay for it. $18 freakin dollars, i hate people.

From the Office of Dan Hesse:

Dear Teammates:

I am really looking forward to talking with you this Friday, Feb. 15, at the all-employee webcast. But, I've made a decision that I want you to know about today.

You have seen a number of changes in the past two months. Here is one more. For the past two-and-a-half years, we've had two headquarters cities -- our corporate headquarters in Reston, Va., and our operations headquarters in Overland Park, Kan. Having dual headquarters has hampered teamwork and the integration of legacy cultures. It has increased travel and real estate costs. And, dual-city headquarters has hurt our ability to execute well in the marketplace.

Going forward, the Sprint Nextel headquarters will be in Overland Park. The Overland Park campus by...

A unique "I want a free phone" customer

This one was different, instead of "I SPEND LOTS OF $$, SO I WANT A FREE PHONE"

I got this:

C: I want a free phone, my old one isnt working

Me: Well, with a new 2 yr contract, I have this one for $10

C: No, I only spend $20 per month, and hardly use it, so there is no way I should have to pay for a phone I hardly use.

Me: Sorry, if you want a phone, I cant offer you a free one

So, I'm thinking, but want to say, Hey @asshole, you arent a profitable customer, so NO, you do not get a free one!!

What Happens If Sprint Dies?

i have some friends and extended family who have sprint, we live in nor-cal, what would the experience be? like someone buying them out vs. just outright closing the doors? how long would it take from say this point until something like that might happen? i've never been in the industry during a closing or large buyout. got here after big yellow/black and big blue/orange did their deed...

99% of all problems can be solved by paying your bill

So your phone is cut off. How to fix pay you bill.
You only qualify for flexpay no contract and want to know why. pay your bills.
you want to know why you cant get a goodwill credit from customer service. Guess why is cause you never pay your bill on time.

Are you kidding me?

So on Friday night the local fox news channel ran a piece about the analog shut down. I saw this and immediately thought F***. it took a couple days but stupid people are starting to come in asking about it.

A customer came in with a moto 325(tri mode). The customer insisted that his phone was analog only and kept pointing to the glossary of icons on the phone that shows "A" when the phone is analog. I had to explain to him 3 times that his phone is also digital and he will be unaffected.

The darn hillbilly would not believe me. Left my store and called customer service. saw the notes on the account when he called me back asking again. How many different ways can I explain it?

To top it off he is going to come back in with...

Situation

So, i'm helping a customer and just about to finish up. When i'm done, i look over and see my co-worker helping a customer. As soon as i see the customer, i recognize her as my customer i activated very recently. She smiles, says hi to me, and says we came to see you, but you were busy. We're here to add a second phone. Co-worker had not even opened the account yet, just helped them pay a bill. He obviously heard us talking and just ignored the fact that it was my customer. Turns out she couldn't add a line, but her daughter just got one in her own name. Co-worker never gave me the opportunity to step-in and never even brought it up to me later. Just pretended like nothing happened.

I just want other opinions. Should he have let me step ...
