Sweet Jesus! Sprint has a new unlimited plan

http://www.sprintunlimitedaccess.com/ »

Too bad retail isn't provisioning this offer yet and I noticed the site doesn't mention anything about PAM.

"loyal" customers

this is great

custy walks into the store inquiring about our wireless internet cards. she says she lost hers and needs to get a replacement. she doesn't have insurance and is not eligable for upgrade. so when we tell her a replacement would be over $300 she flips out.

customer - custy
me - me
my co-worker - co

custy: WHAT?! it was only $50 last time and that was WITH a mail in rebate.

co: well yea, you signed a 2 year contract and that's how we were able to give you that discount.

custy: well the guy didn't explain that when i got it.

co: well, yea we can't give it to you for free because you're not signing a new contract and you don't have insurance so it would be $300 to replace it.

custy: but the guy d...

First @$$ Clown of the Day

C: This phone is a piece of sh!t. (He slams a Samsung x496 onto the counter and starts walking around the store.)

M: Sorry to hear that, sir. What seems to be the matter?

C: I was just a World Ford talking to someone and it turned off by itself.

M: When you say "turned off," do you mean powered off or hung up?

C: Hung up. (I hate when people say "turned off" instead of "hung up." It causes confusion as the cause of the issue is usually totally different between the two.) It doesn't work anywhere. Not on Route 19, or Route 9 or even I-79. I can go from here to Pittsburgh and not be able to call anyone.

M: Let me see what I can do. (I pulled off the battery to reveal a RED sticker.) Sir, this sticker is usually white. It turns r...

I am not retarded

It's a Niki-rant about one of our own departments, which is actually fairly unusual.

We have to call in credit checks sometimes. Quite a bit actually, which is fine, but I really get tired of them treating me like I am retarded.

My department is pretty small, most of us have been here for years, this is one of the departments that people tend to stick around in... which means most of us are pretty savy on policy and totally conversant in credit class terms...

And yet... every time we call the credit people they feel compelled to explain everything to us as if we have never done this before. They have to tell us that "Well that's Credit Class $, which means 3 lines with a zero deposit and the customer can add a fourth line in six ...

Go Home People

http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/weather/02/06/tornadoes/i » ... รƒโ€šร‚ยป

Not sure if you've seen the news about the tornadoes across the Southeast. That kind of weather is apparently still not enough to stop four people lining up before we opened.

It's not "I'm a first responder and need this to help rescue people." It's just the usual drivel of "mah fon nawt holden uh chawrg" or upgrades with them not knowing anything about what they want before coming in.

All that's fine, but at 9 a.m... on a day with weather like this?

Routing Error

So there is a routing error with one of the other departments, if you get sent to the wrong office it will give you an "office closed" message and hang up on you. We are supposed to just call back until we get through.

It took me 20 tries to get into a live cue.

20!

Just a small request

To all the at&t call center representatives out there.
Please stop sending customers to my store for free SIM cards. I do not know if you all are even aware of this but only COR stores can give out free SIM cards, and no, the note on the account saying "please do not charge them" does not passify my manager. I know it is stupid and I absolutly HATE telling people that I have to charge them, but thats how it is. So please, if you have a way of telling the difference between COR and agent when directing them, send them to COR!.

Do you have a way of telling the difference?

Howdy Doody

Just wanted to introduce myself. I've been reading the Shop Talk forums for around a year and a half.. Always seems to be something to brighten up one's day..

I've worked in big blue's warranty department when it was orange and now I'm doin sales... (sales > warranty - hands down) hahaha.

Sales has a good vibe to it.. Warranty is plagued with broken phones that are usually physically damaged or been exposed to moisture. Plus can't go wrong with commission- It's really nice to be able to earn as much money as you work for ya know? Anyways.. Just wanted to say HI. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

No Credit For You!

I just took this supervisor call...I have paraphrased parts of it, and omitted about ten minutes of examples I kept throwing out at the customer.

M: Thanks for patiently holding Mr. X, my name is **** and I am a supervisor here with Black and Yellow. I understand you have some questions or concerns regarding your most recent bill?

C: Damn straight I do! I received $97.00 in call forwarding charges!!

M: (Reviewing Bill). That is correct, sir. The Call Forwarding rate is $.20 per minute. Those charges are valid.

C: Those charges are not valid! I wasn't aware of the rate! (Screaming Now) How can they be valid charges when I didn't know what it cost! Is that even legal??

M: Sir, you could have always called us if you were unsure o...

What I want, I get !! (quite long because I'm really bored)

So this hapened at my cart recently, so I figured I'd share cuz, well, it just made me laugh.

13 year old kid walks up to the cart and starts looking at the cart looking at the sidekicks. I asked him if he wanted any help and he asked how much the sidekick lx's were. I told him, that with a contract it was 299 after a 50 dollar mail in rebate, or if he wanted to just buy it outright he would have to pay 399. He responds with this exact quote (in the most arrogant, stuck up attitude possible), "Ok, I'll go have my dad buy it for me. Because in my family, want I want, I Get!! When you are in a family with money, you get things." I surpressed laughing as long as I could until he walked away, then I just busted up.

Sure enough, about 15 mi...

But I Want It Now!!

M: Thanks for patiently holding Mrs. X, my name is **** and I am a supervisor here with Black and Yellow. How can I assist you today?

C: My Connection Card started malfunctioning a few weeks back. An agent with your Service and Repair Center said I could exchange it with another one, but that I would have to wait two weeks because it was on backorder.

M: I can understand your frustration with the wait time (Customer Cuts Me Off).

C: No, you don't understand! They called me earlier this morning to inform me the new card had arrived.

M: Umm..Ok. So what seems to be the problem?

C: I lost the old one while waiting the two weeks for the new card to arrive. Now your people are telling me I would have to pay the full retail price fo...

Challenge to Dan Hesse and All Wireless Executives

Set your salary at $1 and tie your compensation directly to company performance. For a CEO, let's say $1 per net gain of each subscriber. If the stock does well, you can have some of that too, but your most direct pay is tied to subscribers growth and retention.

Google and other companies seem to get along just fine with their CEO's having a $1 base salary. If your work is successful then everyone benefits. However, if you drive the company into the ground you get a $1.

Seems fair to me considering that I can't have a merit raise this year because of mistakes and missteps by executives. No matter how well I do my work this year I am stuck. I don't see any mention of that for executives, however. Nowhere in all the communication...
