I want to switch to ATT and shar a family plan with my son. Can we both get new iPhone's? I can't seem to make this happen when ordering online. Not sure if it's even possible in an ATT store. Any help? Thanks.

I have been wanting a BB for a while. I really want the curve. I see here that you seem to think that VZW will eventually bring one to the line up. Are your sources reliable?? Would hate to buy the pearl or 8800 now only to have the curve come out in a month or two.....Thanks a lot for your time.

Does Cingular offer the ability to block caller ID on every outgoing call by default like Nextel(called line blocking)? Or does Cingular make me dial *67 before every call? Thanks.

I like it...... I am finally out of contract and considering switching. But this at least helps Nextel for persuading me to stay. Their price structures need a change for sure and this was a good start. Would really like to see some new equipment too. I know the new i580 is due out this quarter, but one phone to every other carriers 5 just sucks. NEXTEL NEEDS NEW PHONES!!!!!

Or you could switch to their carrier.....I've been with Nextel for over 5 years now. I came out of contract back in Feb. and was going to swtich to VZW. But I see just as much unhappiness at VZW as I do at Nextel. And now Sprint/Nextel has lowered their nights/weekends and have improved their plans. New phones coming....may just stay at Nextel.

I am wanting to switch from Nextel to VZW and I even waited for today thinking maybe the first business day of the new quarter they would unleash some new hot phone or at least a new plan. But nothing..........may have to pick a different "new" carrier. 8O

I'm looking now, but I saw somewhere not to many days ago that Sprint would be releasing their 700P in mid April. It's very similar to the 700W only it has the Palm OS, thus, no wait to release it. Haven't seen when or if Sprint will get a Windows version, but if they do it definitely won't be until after June 1.

Okay MobileProfessor........I can't get an answer from anyone else on the forum. How much faster is VZW's EV-DO broadband than Cingular's EDGE broadband. They both claim to be the fastest, but I can't find any information that backs it up. I'm trying to decide on the 650 or maybe wait for the 700p with CNG, or just go straight to the 700w with VZW. Thanks for your help.

I am looking to buy a Treo. Can anyone tell me whether or not I would notice the difference in the broadband service the 700 uses and whatever EV-DO or similar service that Sprint and Cingular use on their 650's? I can get a 650 with Sprint or Cingular alot cheaper, but don't want to sacrifice speed for a few $$$. And it doesn't make a difference to me whether I buy the palm or windows ...

Consider yourself lucky to have been able to change without penalty for as long as you have. I have been with another carrier for years, and anytime I've wanted to change anything in my service, with exception to the actual phone, my contract automatically got extended. Nothing new to most of us....

I had a i736 and moved up to the i860. Moving the SIM worked for contacts, but would'nt allow me to send MMS. So if you take pics, you won't be able to send them anywhere nor will you be able to send text msgs. You have to upgrade to the "falcon" SIM card that comes stock with the i860.

So far, over many years, I've not had any trouble with CS, and I don't suffer many signal problems. But being the type of person that likes new toys, it's hard not to switch to VZW or Cingular for the latest and greatest. Will stick it out a bit longer but not sure how long that'll be.....
New Equipment?
Is it my imagination or does Nextel have the slowest release of new equipment. Either completely disolve the company and do away with the phones, or come up with some new ones.

Amen to that!! Verizon has had the same damn phones forever. A couple of new smart phones but nothing new. All of their clams look and function almost the same. Cingular and Sprint both have new phones coming.....Come on VZW...get with it.

The Sammy MM-A900 beats the VZW Razr hands down with maybe one exception. Battery life!! I am currently with Nextel looking to switch. Can't find a reason to go from Nextel to Sprint, therefore no MM-A900 for me. Still undecided about the VZW vs. Cingular switch. Live in Connecticut where both have great coverage. Suppose I need to just find a phone I like and go with the carrier that has it....

I am currently using a Nextel phone and don't want to have to retype 400 telephone numbers. Do any of VZW current phones use a SIM card or do any of them have the ability for me to upload from a .CSV file? Thanks to all.
