alot of the PN phones look like audiovox's. Is there a reason for that? I like them. It's like the nokia 2128. A flashlight phone, how cute ^^

From what I gather pantech hads been making phones for audiovox. Audiovox has just been putting their name on them. Pantech just decided to go directly to vzw with these units

Soooo.....

Hyundai makes phones, they also make cars.

Curitel makes phones for the Asian WCDMA.

Also Don't forget LG was called Goldstar some time ago. LG is just clever marketting/renaming.

I'm waiting for the even cheaper disposable phones to come out. - Since plastic and integrated circuits do take 100,000 years to decompose on the landfills.

If its not a $600 phone its fine. Some people cannot afford a $600 phone. I'm sure I'll see bunches of "unpopular" teens running around with these who's parents did not buy them the RAZR Dolche Gabana Edition.

Indeed, they were called 'Lucky Goldstar' I believe... That would look stupid on my refrigerator...

LG or now "Life's Good"

LG is actually kicking some ass now. They make a decent TV, industry leading home appliances and great cell phones.

Hyundai however sucks. They make junk cars, tvs, appliances, everything. They are HUGE in Korea though. They own most of the land in urban areas according to my aunt that lives there...

I originaly tried to purchase small LCD assemblies from LG for my projects and though LG got into the phone racket since they own a SMALL LCD DISPLAY manufacturing plant.

Funnies thing though LG VX7000 display assembly is made by SHARP. ☚ī¸ - Very odd stuff.

LoL. 😁 - No I'm trying to design appliances (not phones, ala "firewall boxes", "wireless routers".)

Purpose Specific Computing Initiative (TM).

this is when you start looking for the LEGO blocks. (LCD components, VIA EMBEDDED BOARDS, Compact Flash. Ya know...)

The overwhelming majority of customers are on lower end handsets. Gotta come out with new ones every once in a while. 🙂

I honestly think this would be a good backup phone. I had an Audiovox 8900 when it first came out and was pretty happy with it and that phone was built bu Curitel.

If you look at the article about CES on this site, you will see alot of Pantech phones will be coming out for Verizon by looking at the screens when the phones are on or if you look for the GIN icon the keypad.
