New Moto E815 and No red UI
Received a new Moto E815 by Fedex today. Installed the battery, hit the power button, the big HELLO MOTO came on. Fully expecting to see the red bars across the top and bottom with the same menu as the LG8100, Razr, but NOTHING!! 😲 No red bars, no same menu, and I go under settings and learn I can customize my menu..Was thinking bout keeping the Razr for me and upgrading my mom's phone from the LG3200 to the E815 but now I think I might change to the E815 and give her the Razr at least for a little bit. Like some of the features on the E815 that the Razr doesn't have. By the way, have had the Razr since Dec when first came out, think it is a excellent phone, haven't had a single dropped call, call clarity excellent, no problems whatsoe...

no, the e815 doesn't have the UI, it predates it. the first phone i can remember having it was the lg5200

Yes it did and ironically enough no one complained about the UI on that phone nor did they complain when it was put onto the LG 8000. But now tht it is the "standard ui" people all of a sudden have a problem with it. All it is is haters wanting something to whine about.

Well, that's some of it. But some of it is that Verizon isn't offering enough customizability, so that peeps who want to can change the appearance of the UI some, to their liking.
Hope that changes. But fo' myself, I can live with the red bars. Its a pretty tiny thing, compared to the great reception I'm gettin' with them. Of course, i got a Nokia 6256, so I got both great reception AND no red bars. 😎

Call me stupid, but what is UI and what does it do? Is it part of the software? Is it a good or bad thing if the phones have it?

Scratch that.......found it. Still not sure which phones have this though. Do alot of VZW phone screens look the same when you open them?

Yes the 815 does not have the standard ui, my uses one. I had an 8100, uses standard ui. On my 8100 i could make the outer wallpaper different than the one on the inside and I could also set video wallpaper(which was really cool) on the front and inside display on that model. Yes the red bar was their, but come on Video wallpaper! And different ones on the inside and outside displays! That seemed more custom to me then the motos crappy outside display, no video wallpaper. Yes the red bars suck and if you have a razor( icurrently use one) then the standard ui really sucks because the outside display is dim and crappy to begin with. I think if the razr would allow me to set video wallpaper and have different ones for the inside and outside and...
