Broadband vs. Sprint / Cingular

I am looking to buy a Treo. Can anyone tell me whether or not I would notice the difference in the broadband service the 700 uses and whatever EV-DO or similar service that Sprint and Cingular use on their 650's? I can get a 650 with Sprint or Cingular alot cheaper, but don't want to sacrifice speed for a few $$$. And it doesn't make a difference to me whether I buy the palm or windows version. Thanks for anyones advice.

The Verizon version will be noticably faster than either Sprint or Cingular's 650. With the EVDO data, you'll be significantly faster than the older Treos, which use either EDGE or GPRS. The other issue, though, is do you want a Windows Mobile device. Lots of customers I've talked to specifically chose the 650 because it was NOT running Windows mobile.

It's up to you - is the speed of data worth the extra cost for the device? (Ie - do you do lots of mobile browsing? The speed difference would be negligible for email, unless you're sending/recieving lots of large files)

or you can still get the 650 with Verizon which offers a better network than the competitors. I had the 650 before purchasing the 700 it was great for what i did with it but i wanted to get the high speed and the 700 allows for more windows apps and comes with word, excel, powerpoint, etc.
