Re: Will this work on Sprint/T-mobile?
The ROG II does work on Tmobile or AT&T but not Sprint or Verizon because of their CDMA network. The only problem with the ROG II is it did not support VoLTE for AT&T or Tmobile so when either shuts down their 3G networks in the couple of years, VoLTE would be required for all phone calls. XDA has guides for enabling but you would need to root your phone. ROG III should be the same but no telling ...
Which network were you on?
Did you try on AT&T, T-Mobile or both?
Battery Life?
I know it's got 1500 MAH but I had a full charge, live in a 4G area with full bars, didnt use the phone over night and it dropped to 48% by morning. It survived 40 mins of Pandora and the rest of the day without calls, text or e-mail, I just wonder if it's common.
Typo in filing
Should read: It will create more money for Jobs. Meaning Steve Jobs, as it will bring more customers to AT&T and give them a more chances for iPhones and iPads sales.
Re: What is coming for the holidays?
How long before Voyager's launch did we know about it?? No leaks, no FCC, etc on a Voyager 2. I spoke to an LG rep and he said Verizon has everything on lock down. He knows what coming for Sprint and AT&T all the way to 1Q09 but doesn't know anything about 4Q08 VZW. He heard of the 9600 but knew nothing about it.

Re: EVDO tethering (i know, i know)
Are you on AC or NW plan?
Wouldnt it use Data instead of mins if you are on NW? $1.99 a MB?
Re: Exchange support
It works like every other Blackberry, if you have a question, ask your IT Department.
It works with Blackberry Enterprise Servers, Outlook OWA, POP3, IMAP, or an Outlook Redirector program can be installed on your computer. The OWA, POP3 and IMAP just does e-mail wirelessly, but you can use a USB/Bluetooth to sync Calendar/Contacts/Memos/Tasks.
Re: exclusively verizon?
AT&T has US exclusivity on the Bold (whenever that is released).
Verizon has US exclusivity on the Storm
The only phones that are not exclusive beyond a 3-6 month time frame is the New Pearl (Codename Kickstart for GSM and Apex for CDMA) and the New Curve (Codename Javelin for GSM and Niagara for CDMA).
The Storm is a lifetime exclusive so with news of RIM's R&D working on Storm 2 & 3... those will be Verizon phones as well.
Re: Gonna need a new phone soon, advice please....
Do you need a Data Plan? Because all Blackberries require a data plan. If not and you want a PDA with a touchscreen, the Samsung i910 Omnia is coming out. All touchscreen windows mobile. You can sync it with your calendar and you dont need a data plan
Re: This would be nice if the BB Storm in the US would be..............
I free Storm on VZW will be a big F.U. to the Naysayer and the iPhone elitist.
Better e-mail
Better messaging
Better Camera/Camcorder
Better Touchscreen
and best of all Free with a 2 yr contract?
Why bother with the pearl and curve?
This pricing point may be nice, but unlikely at launch atleast. I could see it going that way if you were a switcher and were mailed a promotion. Free phone to those that left VZW for the iPhone and now have gotten over ...
No
AGPS is for VZ Nav
GPS for Google Maps, Blackberry Maps, etc...
What's the point of a Global Phone if your Nav only works in part of the US.
This GPS will be unlocked
Why-Fi?
Since this is a competitor to the iPhone 3G lets take somethings into consideration.
iPhone 3G works it's 3G magic in about 40% of the US Population and you still have to pay the $30 3G data plan not matter how you connect or where you are located. You could live in a 3G-less city(there are alot of them), use wifi or EDGE all day long but have to pay $10 more then the 1st Gen iPhone that does the ...
No CDMA iPhone but there's always a Storm
Jack Plating EVP & COO was asked... there is a rumor about a CDMA iPhone coming out next year with Verizon Wireless (this is due to a job posting on Apple's site asking for an engineer with GSM, UMTS, CDMA, and EVDO knowledge). His response was.... "Funny, we never got that call"
David Smalls NE Area President added... "We did get a call but the call was lost due to Apple's poor network"
If you like the Curve... there is always ...
Welcome Back
So we know you used the iPhone for AT&T, but what did you use on Sprint and what specifically made you leave them?
Perhaps the grass seems greener on the otherside and it great porting and trial periods let us see for ourselves without hype. Glad you found out for yourself what works for you.
We will know...
before election day.

If I were a RIM stockholder, I'd be calling for this clown's head on a plate. Instead, I'll just move to Verizon and buy a Storm.
Being able to send/receive mail while on a conference call or any call in general gives the bold a huge advantage... Can't do that with CDMA.
Actually... word on the street is you CAN do that with CDMA and the Storm. EVDO Rev A capable phones can theorically do VOIP calls and Data ...
should be renamed the Blackberry Hype
It's been hyped from AT&T since May. Now it's just a game to see who will Launch first. Blackberry Bold on AT&T or Blackberry Storm on VZW. Place your bets.
Re: Android for Verizon
Sprint is in line to get the next Google phone. It wont be the G1 design like T-mobile's but it is expected to launch this year from what I hear. No new on Verizon and Google doing a Gphone
Re: Nov 1st
I got a friend in Retail that just called and said they got an e-mail of Nov 1st launch and everywhere else 2 weeks later. Not sure what he ment... indirects maybe?
Re: Nuisance calls!!!
Use Donotcall.gov it's the Do Not Call list. But if it's bill collector... they wont stop calling just because your number is on the list.
Re: Nov 1st
Always a possibility they may do a online launch 2 weeks before in store launch.
Re: I LOVE VZW!! (kinda long story)
It's that policy that can be misread on Replacement of Lost/Stolen/Damaged phones.
I.E. if they don't have insurance and not eligible to update, sell them a phone at 1 yr pricing. Unfortunately... you have to meet certain qualification. Months of service, calling plan. I think she just got lucky which is good for....
Re: Verizon Wireless Usage Controls
Yup, the product is very misleading since T-mobile beat Verizon to the punch. T-mobile can even use this on Blackberry's... Verizon cannot.
The service is flawed too. You can add a blocked # on your list to prevent your daughter from calling her boyfriend forever, but she could just dial the 7 digit number or call 411 to call connect her to call him. Eventually they will perfect it but again... the design is not a hard cut off like ...
Re: Verizon Wireless Usage Controls
Legally the carrier cannot do a hard stop on preventing use after the limit is reached. If your kids had an emergency after 300 mins was reached and couldn't call. Who would be responsible. Unfortunately wireless carriers can't take the roll of parent. This is usually a disclaimer with Usage Controls, Chaperone, etc. After 300 mins is reached, your phone is to alert you with a text... then it's up to you want you want to do.
Nov 1st

Re: GSM Version
This is a Lifetime exclusive to Verizon, so this generation and the next generations of this type of phone will go to Verizon.
Blackberry is doing carrier specific phones now in their down time.
The last phones they made was the Pearl and Curve with all it's variants.
So we are starting to see the AT&T Bold Exclusive
The T-mobile Pearl Flip Exclusive
The Verizon Storm Exclusive
Verizon's will be Quad band along with some other coming global phone and ...
Re: vzw.com employees
The main site, VZW.com, contains both secure and unsecure scripting. Since part of the site is unsecure, i.e. the Phone catalog, plans, feature, support pages, about us, etc... it will not show the lock icon until after your sign in or if you select a sign in only type page.
Re: Moto Touchscreen with TV
it's a flip phone, the clear flip has your earpiece on it

Re: You have got to be kidding me!
So one would say they are real "cox" about everything.
Re: Thunder Question.
The GSM radios are still unknown at this point.
Verizon is starting to offer phone like the I770 and the Q9 Napoleon in CDMA and Quad-band GSM (US and Abroad) but it could be like the 8830 CDMA only in the N.America and GSM abroad.
The original report is Thunder is a lifetime exclusive with Verizon/Vodafone but it's not to say that other touchscreen qwerty or slide out qwerty cannot come to other carriers so day.
Re: Call Center Blues
We used to have policies that updated daily but they decided to do away with that database. Now it's intergrated into the main intranet which is updated constantly, moving links, add sub-catergory after sub-catergory and a search engine that brings up 50 responses with a 2 line paragraph that describe what you are looking for but no real info on it or where to find it. It's a really cruel game of hide and seek.

Re: Is the iPhone 3G really worth........
They were already sued.... they settled for 21 million.
Re: Anyone know...
The Software is out if you want it, just not offered from Verizon yet... I'm guessing Verizon is testing it before release. HoFo can help ya.
Re: INSANITY
Verizon's lawsuit start with a 1 billion dollar payout but Verizon settle with 21 million. So what did Sprint do wrong to get a 73 Million pay out?

Re: I WOULD LIKE VERIZON BUT.
Prepaid or Easypay service
It's so simple....
Buy a Mockup Pink Pearl on eBay or Circuit City. They look like the real thing and you dont have to even pay for service. Just fakes it. Practice making ringtone sounds. Dun na na na Dun na na na Dun na na naaaaaaaaa
(yes I know that's a Nokia ringtone)
