I expect to see an Android device certified by VZW less then 6 months after their Open Network voice pricing becomes finalized and public.

Actually, what will more likely happen is that Sprint will pick up some Android devices and they will get certified as VZW-compatible and people will just hop over to VZW after purchasing the handsets outright from a Sprint store.

I may be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure there was a VZW press release stating Verizon would offer an Android phone before the end of the year. Anyone able to back me up?

prolly not before the end of the year...but I bet they will offer one up sometime in 2009. And hopefully it will look better than that G1.

im gonna wait till i actually use it, until i judge the phone. I only use gmail on my blackberry, so if they provided push gmail, I might be willing to look at a verizon android device.

Sprint is in line to get the next Google phone. It wont be the G1 design like T-mobile's but it is expected to launch this year from what I hear. No new on Verizon and Google doing a Gphone

android is software, not a phone. just like windows mobile is software and not a phone.

once android (software) gets released, you will just have to flash your windows based phones to android.

hope this helps everyone
