Hi,

I would like to get verizon wireless but, their deposit of $400.00 is very high. I do have bad credit and am working to fix this. But I do not want to have to pay the 400 and get it back after a year. I cannot have someone sign up for me since I am here alone. Is there anyway to get around this?

I just don't understand, if I don't pay, I don't get service, I do not understand they concept of a deposit, I get the company thinks its to ENSURE that I pay my bill, but it really doesn't...

If anyone could help, I would really appriciate it.

Thank You,

CPD

Well, you could run up an enormous bill...let's say "oh, I don't talk that much" and go on the $39.99 plan but talk over 2000 minutes. That's over 15oo minutes at $.45 each ($697.50) plus the 1157 texts you used because you didn't want to pay for a text plan ($231.40) so VZW is now on the hook for $39.99 + $697.50 + $231.40 = $968.89. See where they should have an interest in a deposit.

Easypay doesn't exist anymore, so that's not an option. Prepay or pay the deposit. Sorry.

T-Mobile with spending limits or Sprint with a $150 or $200 deposit. at&t is usually higher (like $500 last time I checked)

They also have a $125 deposit but I am not sure what the difference is between the two. At&t wants $500 and Sprint told me $50. So I have a tough choice to make myself.

Sound like Sprint is the way to go. Add the roaming option to your plan for five additional dollars and go on Howards Forum and find out how to force your handset to choose Verizon's network over Sprint at all times.

A cell phone is a luxury, not a right.

You should worry about your credit score first and foremost. Get your stuff in order, then go for secondary needs.

You can file an appeal with COOS (Credit Order and Operations) dept; they are the ones who can do a more detailed review of your credit application and see if they can lower the deposit requirement.
