What ever happened to the femtocell????
Does anyone know anything about this? I thought I heard that it was going to launch sometime this summer....I think it would be nice to have it in my house. I dont know if I want to drop 500 on a repeater system in my house....

I don't know for sure what happened to the idea. A carrier would be foolish to drop the idea on femtocells. I don't have a direct sourse of info but I've been typing "Verizon Wireless femtocell" in a Google search and it brought up some online news releases. Thats how I've been keeping up with it. Hope this help and I hope someone will dish out some good info on this subject.

I'd love to know as well. VZW's CTO annouced it in April.
In a marginal area and a femtocell like sprint has with the airave would solve a lot problems - and keep us from having to move to sprint (which is horrible).

Yeah I saw the "HUB" but what about those of us that dont live in a Verizon landline area??? I think I am just going to drop some money at http://www.wpsantennas.com and get a repeater.

I was told there was some kinks in the ability to service the units and who would service them and also where they would put the unit. This was asked at a big meeting and thats the answer they gave me who knows.

The last update on femtocell release that I have seen is slated for the middle of November but is of course subject to change.
