Mommy please be honest!!!

Heard this on another forum and I thought it was hilarious. Every customer showed come equipted with a kid like this.

I had this happen recently and I thought this was funny so I thought I'd share it with you guys.....
I lady and her 4-5 year old little boy come into the store with a phone problem and asks to speak to the tech (me). She told me her phone would not power on. The phone would not charge so I thought I'd try a different battery. When I took the battery, what did I find? (I'm sure most of you can guess) WATER!! Not just signs of water, but water droplets in the battery compartment, so it was pretty obvious that the phone was emersed in water pretty recently.
Luckily, the customer had Lockline. I took the phone to the custome...

Rebates!!!

😑 i hate them, i hate selling them, and i think it should be unlawful to advertize a price "after mail in rebate." only 60% of people who get a rebate actually send it in, and only %20 of those actually get their money back (and that usually takes up to a year).

i think it is false advertising to offer a phone for "free!!!*" and it should be illegal. i personally do as much as i possible can for people (filling out the serial number for them, extra copy of receipt stapled to form, and explicit directions on how to include the proof of purchase). can't we just give them the phone at the quoted cost?

i hate them and the idea behind them: to make more money off the customer because of the studied lapse of priorities. πŸ‘Ώ

I can't believe some people

Hello, my name is So-and-so. I have horrible credit, because I have been with EVERY cell phone company but you and never paid any of my bills. I am addicted to crack cocaine and have pawned just about everything I owned, including all my clothes that weren't torn and I haven't showered in months because I can't pay my water bill. However, despite all this, I'm sure you can tell I'm a good individual, so you should give me a free phone and I should get to make up my own contract. I don't need to make a deposit because I don't have a social security number. You can trust me, and your boss will never find out that you gave me a phone without charging me, and the company will never find out that you didn't complete the contract correctly. While ...

Did they stop training the CSR's?

Alright so I had a battle with a CSR today. I finally won because she "couldn't find a supervisor" Oh and also because I was right. I even had to get my manager in on it. So here's how it goes.

Me: Yes I am a retail represenative and my customer just upgraded their phone so i need to add insurance.
Rep: Sure, your name and dealer code?
Me: Carrie G...............(my dealer code)
Rep: Customers name and number?
Me: yada yada...and she has been fully verified.
Rep: I need the last 4 of her social
Me: She doesn't want to repeat it in the store but I verifed her license and social security card, shes in here all the time, it's her
Rep: I still need it in order to help you further
Me: Um...ok, (a little perterbed but whatever) wh...

Why such bad timing?

I've been sitting here bored out of my mind playing freecell and perusing the forums all day.

Then I decided I'm hungry. My fiancee packed me a lunch so I take it out of the fridge, heat it up in the microwave, and before I can even make it back to my desk I hear the door. Oh yay, a customer. Food will have to wait.

Take care of that customer and eat.

A little while later I'm hungry again (I eat several small meals instead of 1 large one). Again, as soon as the foods in the microwave, another customer.

And this happens every day. No matter what, I can be bored as hell and not have a customer for 4 hours, as soon as I heat up some food here they come. It's really annoying, but it's not like it's their fault. Grrrr....

To all who gave me advice

I have officially put in my two weeks and I am going to go re-enroll in school in May. I am going to take the next 6 weeks off to get my attitude back in check, rekindle my relationship with my loving fiance, and get registered for school. I am going to go back to school to be a history teacher and I am really excited. To all who replied on the advice threat I appreciate it. The last few days have been really great and I hope my last two weeks of being here are at carrier X are fun. I'll still be on the boards cbecking in from time to time. Ya'll take it easy.

Good Karma

Sometimes I whimsically imagine that my very will can effect the approval level of the caller. I know better but sometimes I think it does because when I go into the call with a bad attitude (carefully concealed) and am fairly certain that the caller will be approved for something they do not like (such as a SA account with the higher activation fee or a deposit) that is almost always comes true. I'm fairly certain that I come to my conclusion based on my experiences, not that the result is because of my willpower however sometimes I wish it were the other way around. I don't ever really WANT somebody to be not approved but I am pretty certain that knowing they won't be translates into the same thing. For some people I take a perverse pl...

I think I just scared my boss

We used to joke "the Masochistic will inherit the call center" as the new order system drove a lot of people, including upper management, to quit. It's stopped being funny some time ago though.

The system is embarrassing. I just processed and order and it crashed and dumped everything, Every Single Thing. I had to ask the customer for all his information a second time. I am embarrassed by our system.

One of my co-workers was wandering around as I muttered "I now understand why they have a waiting period to buy a handgun." He started laughing because he thought I was kidding. I wasn't. My next line was a little lighter. "Though I doubt blowing holes in my computer will fix this." Actually it might. I'd feel better. He repeate...

"Verizon would give me a free phone"

I am sick and tired of people bringin in their water damaged, broken, or perfectly functional damage free phone telling me I need to give them a new one right there on the spot for free. "Verizon would give me one for free". Well you signed up with us, jackass, not verizon. Also, verizon would charge you $30 more a month for the package you have, so by the end of your contract, you have already paid full retail price for 2 or 3 phones. Pardon me if you bring in your crappy nokia bar phone and I don't give you a razr for free just because you say so. From now on, when I have someone come in and say "Verizon would give me a free phone," not only will I point this out to them, but I will start it with ," And cannibals will eat your face. I'm no...

You want to think about it?

Just had a customer activate 2 blackberrys and tell me they wanted to think about the unlim data and e-mail plan. Uh, that's what the BB's are for! I said I couldn't understand why they would but the BB with no data. They just repeted "We'll think about it".

That's a first in two + years. Any idea why they would do that? I told them they had to return the phone before they cancelled so that's not it.

Traffic Ideas

Ok, lets see if you guys can help me out.

The store I'm in how has almost no traffic. It's rediculous. I only see 3-5 customers a day on a good day and I'm lucky if I sell 2 phones in a day. Or even 1 sometimes.

The store is located on a main road. I'm actually right by a freeway on-ramp. So, the cars are driving by, they just don't see this place. I've been told many times that it's hard to see. It's really not, it just blends in and doesn't stand out very well.

Does anybody have any suggestions on something that can grab the attention of people driving by? The other stores in this company (indirect agent) are usually pretty busy but this store remains dead.

Any suggestions, ideas you've used, anything?

Too Dumb To Own a Phone

AOL instant Messenger. AIM. "Do you know what that is?" errr... right.

So this guy calls in and begins telling me how he had service with us, shut it down in July blah blah blah... well what happened was when he had the service he had set it up so that his AIM sent messages to his phone any time he wasn't online. Fine, that's not unusual, my brother does that, I've thought about it. But... and this is where it gets DUMB... he never took that feature off his AIM so now 8 months after shutting down his service his AIM is STILL sending messages to his phone number only it's not his number anymore. He wants to know how to shut it down. Dunno, why don't you try your AIM to take it off you lackwit. We didn't set up the service, you did ...

Phone Question for E315, bear with my posting in Shop Talk

I have posted this in the Samsung forum and the T-Mobile forum, but they seem to be dead. So I figured someone here could help me, that and I love this forum. I might be priveleged enough to hear from Nikoletta 😁

I have had this Samsung E315 (T-Mo) phone for a long time and it's been a good phone (pretty tough). I have taken quite a few pictures on it but now the phone seems like it's dying (display takes longer to come up, keys have slow response time, can barely hear people when they call). Is there a way to get these pictures off of the phone and onto, say a PC. I tried sending them to my e-mail and as suggested earlier to My Album, but the phone just comes back with a failed message. Just wondering what I can do, thanks! I would r...

"Well somebody is going to jail."

I really wasn't sure what to say when this guy said it... "Well somebody is going to jail." What do you say to that? I'll give you the situation that lead up to him saying this to me.

He called in two days ago and placed an order for a free phone with free shipping. We take a credit card number to verify his billing address and place a one dollar hold on the card to do that, it's refunded after 72 hours.

He called in today ready to rip heads off because he shows a charge for 172* and change from ... our carrier... well damn, that's a lot and I keep trying to ask him for his order number and he keeps screaming about how he wants to know why we are charging him and who is trying to steal his money and why don't I have his information ...
