You have got to be kidding...

So I'm sittin at work and this lady comes in. She smells like a chimney and is wearing purple sunglasses. I ask her if I can help her with something and when she begins to speak, she sounds like she is talking into a fan and it makes that weird vibrating noise...well then the conversation goes like this...

Me: What can I help you with today?
Her: Yeah I was in Waldorf and now I'm here.
Me: ๐Ÿคจ Ok, so what can I do for you?
Her: Well I should be, you need to call them, cuz I'm here in WV now.
Me: (again ๐Ÿ˜ณ ) Um, I'm not really following you.
Her: Well I was in Waldorf and now I'm here in WV and I wanna set it up now, you'll have to contact the Waldorf office and they can tell you.
Me: Ma'am, we're an independent dealer, we're not...

So Apparently...

Apparently (and I didn't know this but hey!) our company is going to be sued soon by somebody because we control the phones that they can use on our network.

This guy said "And you may have guessed I'm a Lawyer." No pumpkin, I guess that you were a nut-job. And informed me that we were going to be sued soon but because of confidentiality couldn't tell me by who... because we restrict what phones can be used on our network.
.

Big Pink... restricts the phones we use on our network... Big Pink? Since When?

What he was really getting worked up about was the fact that he already has a phone and to send him a SIM card I have to send him a new phone... we don't sell just the SIM for a new line (though most stor...

why do

i spend half my day teaching people, who went down the street to another store, how to use thier phones
these people see me all the time, about once a week if not almost every day (my kiosk is in a grocery store)
people say that it's convienent to have a store here cause if they have any questions they can ask when they go shopping but then when they want to buy something they drive down the street

Nokias do what?

I just had the weirdest customer in my store that I think I've ever had.

Him- Is there any way you can zap some power into my phone real quick?

Me- Well, I can plug it in, but it's not going to be quick.

Him- Well, did you know that if you dial #3370 into Nokias it will pull up the power from the reserve battery?

Me- ๐Ÿ˜ณ ...Um, those phones don't have a reserve battery. It's just got the one.

Him- Well, not a reserve battery but the reserve power of the phone. See, my battery was almost gone, but see there on the left? Now it's all the way to the top!

Me- Sir, that's not your battery strength. That's your signal strength. Your battery is here on the right, and it's still got just one bar.

Him- Well it always works f...

Wouldn't it be nice?

Wouldn't it be nice if customers (read callers) had some freaking clue what they were looking for when they called in.

I know it's partially my job to guide them and help them know what's out there but SOME basic knowledge really should be mandatory. Questions like "Did you have a price range in mind for your phone?" or "Did you want open face, flip, or slider?" "Do you have a number of minutes in mind?" or one I foolishly use. "What type of phone were you looking for?" Are questions that I don't think should be answered with "Uhhhh... I don't know." Anymore you really should have a vague idea what you want, if you want a free phone, just SAY SO! Don't say "Well what do you have?" Because princess, I have about twenty five to thirty...

Start Laughing Now!!

Just had a customer in store regarding the possibility of switching to VZW from Cingy in the event her account gets flagged. While discussing all the products, services, and rate plans, she launches into this incredibly unnecessary story. We heard probably about 10 minutes worth of a story where the customer spent all morning going mattress shopping with her newly-wed niece. The problem going shopping with her newly-wed niece was that the whole time mattress shopping, she had a hard time keeping a straight face about her, as the thought of her niece the new hubby would be having sex on this mattress ๐Ÿ˜ณ Why would we care about this???

It gets better...

As she is browsing the store looking at the different phones, she saw the poster...

What happens to Bob.

After so many years go by, Bob has finally been banned from every business in his state.

Since Bob has been banned from everything, he has nothing left, not even his house since he was banned from his mortgage company.

Bob also lost his wife and children in the divorce. His wife divorced him because Bob thought that because he has been a loyal husband for 20 years he should be able to get whatever he wants from her whenever he wants it.

Bob now lives in a cardboard box naked and cold in a back alley downtown somewhere. Bob is currently contemplating writing a nasty letter to the box company to bitch about the durability of there boxes after the get soaking wet from a thunderstorm.

You need to speak with the Admin Team.

I just finished this fun conversation.

"Yes, I ordered a phone and was overcharged, I called in to get a credit issued on my account, I spoke with a 'Sally' and she said the credit would be issued in 72 business hours. I haven't gotten the credit yet."

"Alright ma'am, unfortunately this is the sales department so I can bring up your order and get you over to Admin, they'll be able to help you."

... After pulling up the order.

"Do you see the notes for my credit?"

"No ma'am, I'm not in the Admin team, I can't see anything like that, I'll need to get you in touch with them, they can see these things and help you from there."

"Why haven't I gotten my credit?"

"Well, ma'am like I said, I can't see any of those things, I'll ...

Hysterical Chicks and their mothers

๐Ÿ‘ฟ Why the h3ll do people call in to customer service, to cry? Upset and complaining about a fragging store, what the h3ll am I supposed to do about them?

Me- How can I help you today?

Her- I'm so upset right now!! The store was mean to me! I want to cancel my service.

Me- I'm sorry. But ma'am in order to help you, you need to calm down.

Her- ::full blown crying ::

Me- Ma'am, (insert name here) :: getting p!ssed :: (insert name here) You need to calm down, take a deep breath...

Mother- She's hysterical, she's upset. She's upset about her contract end dates and wants to cancel.

Me- That's fine, I can do that. But in order to cancel service, I need to speak to (insert name here). Only she can cancel service.

You're just going to...

I always like when the customer thinks they know exactly what I'm going to do. Today, I had a lady that had a problem with her A920. I start looking at it and see if I can fix it. After me looking at the phone for 30 seconds she says "Give me that, I'll come back. You're probably just going to tell me I need to go somewhere else!" I hand her the phone and go back to my work on the computer. She stands behind the kiosk and then yells, "It's still not working!" I tell her, "You told me that I was going to send you somewhere else, so you can head on over there." I just love when people think they know exactly what I can or can't do.
