Re: merger with Cingular
come on now.
this is convergys we are talking about.
of course they are f'n sh!tty.
i too work the the evil bastards for attws and recently i've been turning in resumes left and right trying to get the hell outta dodge.
i haven't seen the kind of corruption and kicks to the goin by a company towards their employees since i work for wal-mart years ago.
the only people i would reccomend to work for convergys is the people i really f'n hate.
Re: V600 Discontinued?
interesting enuff,
moto has replacement models for the vx00 series phones already. i don't remember which month for release but not to far away.
Re: K700
se z500a is suppose to be coming out later this year; has vga cam, flip, ptt, works on 850/1900 bands.
Re: GSM
w/o zip it's a bit difficult to pinpoint coverage. as for general coverage, if you're near shreveport you should be ok. most of the gsm coverage in the northern part of la is by i-49, i-20, & i-55.
you can take a look at the coverage maps online here:

by the way, why ARE you in this forum if you think the CEO of verizon wireless is the devil?
never said he was the devil, now you're just making **** up. as for posting here, then maybe vzw ...
Re: Save/Cancellation calls..
if you want unlim data, you will probably have no choice but sprint or t-mo. care might be able to get you a good deal on a new phone (w/a new 2 yr contract) but i don't think they can do much to budge the $80 per month for unlim data on the mmmode plans.
and as for the saves team, they are a special dept for new custs within the their first 30 days.
Re: On line dealers vs ATT on line, or ATT retail walk in...
at&twireless, like everybody else is doing again, has recently stopped waiving the activation fee on the 2 yr contracts.
7:00pm n&w is available on the local and national plans $60 or higher with a 2 yr contract.
if you have a problem with the phone, you have to go back to the point of sale. if you have a problem with your service then call customer care (unless you bought the phone over the phone from at&t wireless directly, then you ...

Easy, MW2...we're just getting sick of people dismissing Consumer's article.
i easily dismiss it 'cuz i did at one point some years back subscribe to c.r. and only kept it for a year due to disagreeing a lot with them over what they picked as good. i trust them as much as i would trust a sales person. i do my own research and pick what works best for me, not what some publication says is great.
not that i ...

yep im an asshole and Consumer Reports is completely wrong.. who knows why millions of people nationwide base alot of buying decisions on that magazine.. stupid people....
i never said c.r. was completely wrong. what i getting at (and your dumbass brain had to kick into defensive mode, hmm wonder why....) is i don't think c.r. did their survery in my part of the country where vzw IS known (atleast here) to have the worst coverage ...
Re: GRR LIKE WHOA!
actually this is one of the reasons why i am glad to see attws go, 50 billion depts to do 50 billions things. their division of labor is nothing more then a multiplying headache.
btw, this post is not aimed @ you, just ranting about attws's policies. : P

*news flash*
Consumer Reports is a regional magazine, its not nationwide or anything..
But I guess you're right, we dont have digital coverage in Calhoune, Kentucky, population 26. You got us there.
you are just a typical vzw asshole!
Re: New VZW America's Choice Plans--NOT GOOD

They just don't want to hear that, 85. Apparently Consumer Reports and the hundreds of thousands of people that responded to their survey are wrong.
that whole region thing again! : P
if c.r. had done that survey here, vzw would have scored very poorly.
Re: two questions
3 new phones are scheduled to come out in june. i can't give out any more info than that.

in nas just use the offer eligibility tool and check the customer's zip code.

I think SE must be under the impression that I am a T-mo customer, or they never would have made it for those bands.
se made the phone to be an internal gsm phone, not for the u.s. it just happens to be that the u.s. leg of t-mo only does 1900 here.
se may later make a u.s. version but not right now.
So. Cal. is 1900 do you think it might make it over to Cali
you would ...
Re: K700
the k700 only uses the 900/1800/1900 bands. cing & attws are now requiring phones that use the 850/1900 bands.
the t637 & z500a that are coming out use the 850/1900 bands.
i agree that the k700 and the s700 from se are very nice and would be great phones for here in the u.s. but until se makes a version for use with the 850 band, t-mo would probably be the only u.s. carrier to carry them.
Re: Take that verizon
i'm not disagreeing that nextel isn't an angel in all this. hell they probably knew what they were doing when they got the spectrum they did from the fcc. but they are having to give up the spectrum they have now and are not getting any kind of compesation for it. so i do think they should get SOME KIND of deal for having to acquire the new spectrum, be what it may.
Re: Tmobile ranks #2 for reception.
i tend to ignore those and go by local info only. even the crap from consumer reports can be made to go in a direction they would want (all you need to do is pick or keep markets that are known to be better for certain carriers then others and viola!).
Our IT dept. is currently smoking crack
please callback after they've been to rehab!
Re: Take that verizon
well to play devil's advocate,
it was the fcc who sold nextel the problem causing spectrum in the first place. secondly, nextel is giving up their spectrum w/o any kind of reimbursement for it.
Re: Yes to merger!
it probably has little to do with the buy out but the scheduled roaming agreements kicking in. attws is having another round of roaming agreements kicking in since this past april (last round was in december, before any buyout talks had begun).

Anyone agree with me, or does everyone here think that making voice calls is some kind of retro activity that is only a minor part of owning the latest gimicky hardware (i.e., the SUV folks of cellphoneland)?

yeap. and i'd bet that the majority of posters here are in their 20's (or older) with some of us getting close to being in the 30's.

you'd probably not last a day, week tops with such a thoughtful and highly observant attitude as yourself. most of the headache from this job IS DOING OUR JOB but @sshole customer's want you to bend the rules for them 'cuz they area special (special ed more like it). and what ever you do by the guidelines is not gonna be good enuff until they ...
Re: is there going to be a z500b?
i believe that 'a' stands for america, as in this is gonna be the u.s. model (gsm 850/1900) which implies they may release a z500i (gsm 900/1800) for international release.
Re: Warning to Potential New Verizon Customers
coverage is very much a regional thing. in my area all 3 of the gsm carriers stomp vzw in actual coverage. and as for sound quality unless the person i call knows i'm using my wireless phone they think i'm calling from my landline.
Re: Warning to Potential New Verizon Customers
Don't get all jealous, now...it's not gentlemanly.

Very well said. Anyone with any knowledge of this industry will admit that Verizon has the best coverage, but the worst phones. Re: data packages
i think cing is at least as interested in attws spectrum as they are their customers. with the rolling out of umts this summer both are gonna need as much spectrum as possible.
Re: AT&T thowing in the flag on PTT deployment
there are still strong rumor's of nextel looking into trying to buy sprint. so who know's at this point.
Re: Best Cingular phone for call quality?
heh, a friend of mine has both the 3590 & 3595 and my t616 and t226 work just as well as his phones in the same area, granted we are on attws. : P
as for when i'm in a cing area, my phones work slightly better then my brother's 2 moto 120t's who are on cing's tdma network.
anyways, a phone is a phone is a phone (except moto's, they are @sscrap) and he should try out the phones and ...
Re: is cingular getting the z600?
either way with cing & attws both spending more to grow out their gsm 850 networks, it would make more sense to get a gsm phone that uses that band instead of relying on a phone that can only do the gsm 1900 here.
don't get me wrong, i really like the z600 and wouldn't mind having it, but the lack of gsm 850 makes me hesitant to get it (though the towers in my area are 1900, i don't ...
Re: data packages

having a bad qtr is not going to effect the buyout.
