Best Cingular phone for call quality?

I'm so frustrated with SE T226 phone that I've decided just to buy a new phone even though I'm not eligible for any discounts. I want to make sure I get the right phone, though. My priority is call/sound quality rather than any particular bells and whistles. Any suggestions/inputs would be much appreciated.

I would go with either the samsung x427 or the nokia 3595. either one is great, and they cost about the same out the door.

as an agent, i would agree with js4h....both the 3595 and x427 are great, budget-friendly phones.

I fully agree both are great phones, also the LG 4010 is a reliable phone as well. Though, it is not a color screen phone.

id say the samsung x427 also, the t226 is really for people who dont use the phone alot, but the samsung has great call clarity, loud ringtones, great talk time, and wont hurt you pockets.

the t226 has more features then then x427/x426.
i've used both the x426 (attws branded version of the x427) with my sim card for my t226 and the x426 didn't sound any better then my t226 (actually it was a little worse 'cuz the x426 had a little bit of an echo that my t226 didn't).

my advise is if you can goto one of cing's stores and if the sales rep will let you, try out the phones there using the sim card from your t226. that's about the only way to see what works best for you.

you can always try it out all cingular store in my region balt/wash give you fifteen days, as a salesman myself ive seen plenty of t226 come in for warrenty repairs and such, most people that activate with it complain about the phone, but i must say that calls on the x427 is much clearer, and the echo thing is a carrier problem that has a little to do with the volume of the phone and the signal.

Nokia and Cingular testing shows the Nokia 3595 to be the best operating phone on the Cingular's network. Kind of funny considering it's also the "entry level" gsm phone for nokia. I personally feel it's a much better phone than the se t226. the nokia lacks a camera feature, but the t226's camera is terrible. the nokia has mms and can send sound and picture files and is easy to use as well. My family owns two and they work better than any cell phones i have ever owned. The #1 cause of echo is volume... back the volume off until there is no echo, if that does not fix it, then yes there is a problem with the phone. Hope that helped.

heh, a friend of mine has both the 3590 & 3595 and my t616 and t226 work just as well as his phones in the same area, granted we are on attws. : P

as for when i'm in a cing area, my phones work slightly better then my brother's 2 moto 120t's who are on cing's tdma network.

anyways, a phone is a phone is a phone (except moto's, they are @sscrap) and he should try out the phones and find out what works best for him.
