I have no problem with it at all. Every carrier has their good points and their bad. I don't begrudge anyone their personal preference.

The one city in Alaska was probably the size of Delaware. Verizon has a very impressive looking map, but who cares about coverage where nobody is. AT&T and T-Mobile have maps that are far less impressive to look at, but you need to realize that the population is not spread evenly across the U.S. There are huge population centers that can account for a huge percent of the entire population.

I would call care and have them review that. Tell them what I told you and see what they say. There is no ggod reason they would charge you that money if you were not in a contract.

I appreciate that, thank you. I am actually in telesales. I always understand why people would want to go in to a retail location, but I always recommend telesales. I might be a little biased though. :)

So you are saying that the plan you switched FROM was not under contract?

Re: $35 change of plan

About the earlier question, in Telesales it is either two year contract or no contract. What you should do when deciding about the plans is work out the savings between the two plans per month. Once you have that figured out figure the cost difference for the phone between the two. Lastly figure out how many months it would take to pay for the phone with the plan savings.

If you just signed up with a Even More plan and went to a different Even More plan, than there should be no fee at all. You would be subject to a contract extension. If you went from an Even More to an Even More Plus plan, you would be subject, at this point, to the standard termination fee. The $35 dollar fee was for the customers that had been on plans prior to the plan ...

Re: $35 change of plan

This $35 fee has been blown way out of proportion. At least in Telesales here is how it works. If you are on one of the legacy-grandfathered plans and want to move to the new Even More Plus plans it will cost you $35. Everyone needs to realize that moving to a "Plus" plan voids your contract. What T-Mobile is doing here is let you break your contract to stay with us and only charging ...

I want everyone to understand this, because multiple threads on this topic are really stupid. THERE IS NOT A MIGRATION FEE. By switching to an EVEN MORE PLUS plan, you likely took a line that was on a contract and put it on a plan that has no contract. Am I right so far? Instead of charging you a $200 ETF to get out of your contract, they charged you $35. Everybody is crying ...

There is some confusion
Oct 30, 2009, 4:14 PM
in the T-Mobile forum

There seems to be some confusion as to what is going on here. If you were are on any of the plans that were available before Sunday, you can buy out your contract and move to one of the Even More Plus plans for $35. It is not a fee to switch, it is going to a "No Contract" plan without having to pay an ETF.

I love this thread. I know it will rub some people the wrong way because it is true, and the great percentage of the general public does not want to hear the truth. The mobile phone industry created a unique problem for themselves years ago with the advent of "FREE" phones. By including phones at zero up front cost it set a precedent going forward that caused customers to feel that everything should be free or ...

Very good deal, BUT, be careful. Many of these 3rd party dealers will give you a great up-front price on a phone, but remember, they need to make that money someplace else. Be sure to check to see if you are signing TWO contracts. This is usually the case. You would sign one with the carrier and one with the retailer and they would then have seperate ETF's. The contract with the retailer can ...

No, the real thing. Have about 25 salespeople on my team. Escalations reps are the ones that usually give away the farm anyway. I do understand though. If I got yelled at 8 hours a day I might cave a time or to myself.

That is exactly the reason that one of the corporate trainers gave us. We can tell people that they won't get full use from it, and then everyone will callback in screaming that this P.O.S. doesn't work. I am not looking forward to my agents telling people that they can't buy it. I am going to need to change my billing address to get my upgrade. I am not losing my 60%off.

Is this concept even going to work. T-Mobile had the Samsung T719 come out 2 years ago, it also had Blackberry branding and used the blackberry email(during the big anti-trust thingy that was going on). We were really excited about it and thought it was a revolutionary idea. It failed horribly! Was the concept of a Blackberry flip ahead of its time, or was the fact that it was not RIM hardware the problem?

I have not read anything from anybody I would consider a "shill" for the teleco's. Just people who are informed and in touch with the realities of the industry. People who think that the government should take part in dictating the cost of a non-essential luxury item should think again. If people are hurt by the text prices the should get text bundles. These bundles take the cost of SMS and MMS messages down to in ...

I agree that it is always hard to explain when the SMS prices go up but customers also want updated technology and increased coverage. For any company to improve their network it takes cash. For a company like T-Mobile they need money first of all to pay the initial cash outlay at the spectrum auction. Then when given the greenlight they need to update the network to 3G nationwide. There is hardware, software and labor ...

Re: ETF Fees rules illegal in California
Aug 7, 2008, 5:07 PM

I think that anybody who would argue that ETF are/should be illegal is ridiculous. The basis of almost any contract is the fact that if one of the parties does not live up to an agreement that there are penalties to pay. If you don't want a contract there are options for you. But for someone to say they are illegal makes no sense. There are many industries that without a contract and a penalty for ...
