This is in the San Francisco market only, its being tested. Personally, I really don't think this will launch nationwdie. ARPU would be REALLY sacrificed, and I think they'll realize that and give it the big ol' axe. But if they don't, it would be awesome!

Somehow I believe that this is a case of it being too good to be true.

Here's the low down. This WILL be acrossed the board. It's just a matter of time. The exact plan may be a little different BUT same type of idea. This is a LOYALTY offer ONLY. It's a perk for the long time customers. So you CANNOT get it on a new activation. It's a little something TMO is giving to show our good customers where the best value in wireless is. Enjoy this, you "deserve it"!

Tmobile is going to drive new customers away with this type of "loyalty plan". Noone is going to appreciate the fact that they will not be able to get this plan as a new customer. The need to rethink to whom this plan is made available. The $135 credit for new customers who port to them is nice but it would be better if new customers, as well as all current customers can take advantage of this new pricing. They are going to p*** off many customers who have been with them 21 months and under. 👿

quit crying celnut...they aren't going to drive away new customers...customers complain that they only get the same discounts the new customers get, so now we are rewarding them for not jumping ship to another carrier...and for those that are at the 21 month mark can wait 1 more month to be eligible...i doubt that many customers in the specific test market will be upset and it being a test market would eventually be nation wide probably after a couple a months, that way customers with 20 months will be happy too. 😎

IMO this is a great rate plan. Good long term customers deserve things like this. Rather than the ez come customers that jump ship every 2 years for "something better". The credit for new activations they are getting is awesome. No one directly is offering anything like it. It prove TMO is willing to go the extra mile for their customers.

This plan will be nationwide shortly but apparently it is only a "Loyalty Plan for customers of 22 months or more" in San Francisico. As I stated before, this is not going to go over well for new customers of Tmobile's. It is great they are rewarding their longtime customers but it will upset potential new & existing customers who this plan will not be made available to.
I am betting when this is launched nationally it will be available for everyone. Tmobile has always has great pricing plans & I doubt this will be any different.

It wont be. It's cool that new customers want to join. They can have the 99.99 unlimited. This is for our loyal customer that are willing to stay. Why would anyone be mad that a loyal customer gets better perks? No one is mad about the other 5-10 loyalty offers that TMO has been offering for the past several years. It's like saying i get 30% off since i am a repeat customer at IHOP. How can you be upset about that person getting the discount when you weren't there last time they ate? IMO i'd join get a good deal, stick around and get better deals.

celnut, are you one of those people that think that you should get everything for free or at deep discounts? You were one of the ones that was all upset abou the DTV switchover too huh? Did you get your converter box finally? This is the problem with the general public. They think that they are entitled to everything because they live in the Good Ol' USA. There should be rewards for loyalty! If new custy's are sad that they can't get the same deal, they need to compare what T-Mobile is offering to what everybody else is. The choice is still pretty clear. If they can't see that through the tears they shed from not being able to get a loyalty plan then they can get lost anyway.

I have been a customer of over 7 years and do not want this plan when it will be offered to me. Since I am concerned for the reps that will have to answer why everyone can not have this plan you think that is wrong. Care to explain why I am what is wrong with this country?

That's not the case. I'm not asking for free, because I'd be paying $49.99 a month. I just upgraded to the Curve for $249.99, and I didn't ask for more of a discount. You can take your assumption of me, and stick it up your ass. I am still willing to pay for the service, however, it should be offered to everyone. Not some CA guy that just decided to start service, because their taking the offer for the same reasons I am.

T-Mob has a point tho. Virtually all retail companies in the world has a loyalty program. Look at Macy's, CVS, or Best Buy. The more you shop with them, the more discounts and perks you get with said company. T-Mobile is no different by rewarding loyal customers with this plan. New customers get a good deal anyway, with discounted phone, possibly getting an activation fee waived, free charger and bluetooth. So it's just tradeoff.

every time a cell phone company trys to pull somthing like that off it only will last for a few months. im with t mobile.i have only had my t mobile phone for a few months, but if they have plan that they only give some customers and not all that would fall under discrimination. and after a few months of people leaving and not buying the phones anymore cause they feel its unfair they will change it to everyone. att tryed it with there unlimited plan some years ago saying its only for new custos, and that only lasted for a few months. than everyone was able to get it. when t mobile comes out with it , if they tell me i cant get it i will cancel my line. if tmobile discriminats its customers in that way it will almost guarantee that no one wi...

I'm glad that YOU may feel it's silly that someone offers its LOYAL customers a LOYALTY plan.. HEAVEN forbid someone does something for its good long term customers. You come with a great TMO attitude. I can tell you enjoy selling Sprint more often and it doesn't have ANYTHING to do with sprint giving Wirelesstoys more incentive and more money for selling their product. Thanks for your awesome opinon. This is not discrimination it is a simple business standpoint. Why do you think people have to pay a deposit because they have no/bad credit? Why does anyone go by a credit score? It's so they can give you what is deserved. Period. If you have good credit you get perks. If you don't you get prepaid or huge deposit/flexpay. You claim you are a b...

i know that this is a rumor, and always take such talk w/a grain of salt. but i won't lie, i've been holding my breath since i first saw this post. i hope it truly does come out. if not, guess i'mm waiting, but how cool would that be. and i think it'll shake things up even though reuters is quoting at&t and verizon as not being worried about this (when it eventually does go national) affecting them.it may just be a ripple initially, but remember, tidal waves start out as a ripple.

This plan should help T-Mobile with churn. It is official, not a rumor. You must be a customer for at least 22 months already with a good payment history. It is 50 bucks for the first line, it gets unlimited calling, but not text. Additional lines are $39.99 each. Texting works like a regular plan, you can add to individual lines or $19.95 for family unl txt. It is real and confirmed, we just got all the info in our store. If you are eligible, your account will have a loyal customer indicator after 22 months of service. This will make you eligible for this plan, as well as the $135 credit if you port in a number for a new line. Who says T-Mobile doesn't take care of their existing customers?! 😁

I don't think this is going to be much of anything to sneeze at.

Yeah, it's an unlimited MINUTES plan for way less than any other provider is offering for unlimited minutes... and YES, two lines with unlimited minutes, messaging and data will be a whopping $10 LESS than what SPRINT offers for their SIMPLY EVERYTHING FAMILY plan...

BUT...

The T-mobile's data nowhere COMPARES to the speed of any of the other providers. I also heard that the Nokia 5800, which was supposed to go to T-mobile was recalled because there's something wrong with the way the 3G radio works 🙄. Go figure.

T-mobile JUST released their 3G network. It's in an infantile stage where it hasn't gotten all of it's immunizations yet! It's so slow, I don't know ...

Thats cool if you hate T-Mobile (not sure why you're wasting your time in their forum though...)

Hate to break it to you though, not everyone is looking for data. There are plenty of people with non-data phones with a minutes/messaging package with no desire for the internet/e-mail/gps/whatever else. Sure Sprint's Simply Everything plan is a good deal, but not everyone on Sprint has that plan either because they don't need it.
I'm not sure where you are getting $10 less than Sprint's plan. Their family Simply Everything plan is $190 for 2 lines (each additional is $90). T-Mobile unlimited voice($90)/text($20)/data($25x2) for 2 lines is $160 (each additional is $65). So 5 lines on Sprint's Simply Everything = $460 vs 5 lines on T-Mobile =...

I'm glad you corrected him. It's nice to know about a "simply everything plan" in TMO's forum. About 85%-90% of people don't want data. So WHY are we talking about data in a unlimited mins plan. I guess he doesn't know simple math either.. Oh well can't blame him for trying.
