Just Love This Phone

I guess I have had this phone for over a year now. I have not had a phone I liked so much since the MOTO StarTac. I gave my original StarTac to my son about 5 years ago and he just had to get rid of it as it finally stopped working. I see all these new phones and the only thing I the 9900 lacks is bluetooth and only to be able to use hands-free easier in my car. But that is not enough to make me upgrade. This is another phone I will keep for as long as it works. I still can't believe it was only for sale for such a short time. I have not had a bit of trouble with this phone since I started using it. The only phone I have seen that slightly would interest me is the MOTO E815 but it seems very fragile compared to the 9900, and I am old ...

Availability

Couldnt think of a better subject. If this is the model I had looked at last year, it had a short life with Verizon, am I right? I really liked it, buttons very easy to use, Being blind, must go by touch. So many of today's phones have flat buttons that require great care to use. I cannot afford one but is this model still available? If not, what current models are just as good as far as the user interface goes?

9900 still for sale if you want one!

Just found this post in another Forum and passing it on......

"Don't know if this would help anyone, but the 9900 phone is still on sales display at the VZW store on East 86th Street, between 3rd Ave. and Lexington Ave., Manhattan NY"

Hope this is true for anyone looking for this phone. May be your last chance to get your hands on one! 😁

Last 9900 ever for sale

I have had it for a couple of months now and am very happy with it, but I'm looking into selling it because I want to get a phone/PDA combo with blue-tooth connectivity (looking at the Treo 650). I could use the money to help defray the cost of changing phones mid-contract. It's in excellent working condition with belt clip, charger, CD and manual still in the box. the phone itself has only few tiny scratches that are only noticeable upon close-up inspection. Is anyone interested?

"Service Required"? --- HELP

My phone got a little wet this past weekend after a foolish friend threw a bucket of water on me. It wouldn't turn on, so I dried it with a hair dryer and prayed (not for the phone, but for all the information and phone numbers contained on it). The next day, I was able to get the charging light to go on, but only for about 10 seconds. I turned the phone on, the screen is fine, and all my contacts and info. is still there.

However, for the past three days it wouldn't charge. The light would turn red for 5 seconds or so, then nothing. This made me think the battery had shorted, so I ordered a new one. I found an old battery (which was fine, I just stopped using it because I wanted the larger capacity one) today, popped it in and was able t...

How to get Full screen pictures on the inside screen

Has anyone figured out what size or format to send pictures to the phone by email that will be displayed in FULL screen size on the inside screen? 😕

I have tried several format sizes, including the size the camera takes it's pictures in, and they all are displayed in just partial screen with white around all sides.

The pictures from the camera will display in full screen, but not the ones emailed to the phone. ☚ī¸

Thanks for any help. 🙂

HOW TO GET mp3's ON YOUR 9900 - TUTORIAL

****FIRST*****
Go to "my computer", and find "Folder Options..." in the drop down menu. It's either under "View" or "Tools", depending on which version of Windows you have. Once you get in to Folder Options, click on the "view" tab. In "view", UNCHECK the box that says "Hide file extensions for known file types".

2. Go to www.walmart.com, click on the "music" tab, and search for the artist / song that you want. Click on the album title when you find what you want, and check out the songs listed.

3. Right-click on the song that you want to have on your phone. Choose "Save As..." and save it to somewhere you your computer where you can find it later. Don't worry about saving it as .mid yet. Just name it and save it as an mp3, wma...

Sending picture to the phone from the computer

When you send pictures to the phone from your computer, how do you send them so that they show up in full screen on the phone? Is there a certain size they need to be sent in?

Right now they only show up as a small picture not in full screen.

What jpeg compression works best? I tried the highest compression to make the file size small but the quality was pretty poor with lots of pixilazation.

Also, when I save the pix message, it saves them in the "Images" folder under "Graphics". The "Options" let you move them to one of the numbered folders under "My Folder" but I can't find a way to move them or save them to the "Photo Gallery". Is there a way to save the pictures in the pix message directly to the Photo Gallery or move them ...

Installing Antenna for CDM-9900

I'd like to order a replacement OEM antenna for my phone, but I want to make sure I can easily install it before I do. I was told that my antenna should simply unscrew. Is that correct, or is there any trick to removing the old and installing the new? Thanks.

Swapping Calls with this phone

I love this phone as most of you do, but I frequently get phonecalls while I'm on another call. My old nokia had a swap feature where the incoming call could be answered while the prior call was put on hold. You could then go back to finish the prior call with the swap feature. Can I do this with this phone?

Voice activated dialing?

When I depress the VAD key to setup a voice activated dialing entry I cannot hear the voice prompting from the phone. I have maximized all the volume settings I can find and still cannot hear the VAD prompting. I connected my headphones to the phone and I can hear the VAD prompting fine. Is this normal? It seems to me I should be able to hear the VAD prompting without having to use the headphones. Is this how everyone's CDM-9900 phone works for VAD? Thanks
