LG Dare VX-9700

Got the V05 update taken care of. Now here is the issue. Put mp3's on my 8GB card...total of 1000 songs. When I insert the card into the phone, it recognizes 1999 songs. Then this...for example Call Me (by Blondie...sorry for the pun) shows up twice:

1) Call Me
2) ._Call Me

The first one is the song...no problem. The second one is ???? I can't erase it and it messes up the shuffle feature.

Anyone else see this issue? Can you help me out here?

I am thinking of waiting until December to terminate my agreement with VZW and sign on with ATT to get the new IPHONE. I have 2 choices: Get the LG Dare and stick with VZW or get the IPHONE in Dec. I have heard many mixed things about this phone. Also, on the ATT Data Plan, the $70 plan allows 5000 night and weekend minutes. Is it possible to go over 5000 minutes? That seems like a lot. What would or have you people done? Has anyone else made this decision one way or another? Also, if it matters, I live in central NJ.

Any thoughts would be very much appreciated!

Could anyone suggest a way to clean this phone safely, without risking chemical damages to the hardware? I have a microfiber cloth, but I wanted to clean/disinfect a little bit besides just dry-wiping.

Can I use a tiny bit of isopropyl alcohol or will that damage the surfaces?

I'm not trying to Monk-out here, I just have a really dirty phone!

Does anyone else hear a ticking noise in their ear when they are on a call? It is like every 1/2 second or so...

So now that I finally got the Dare...after a week of enjoying it I've noticed an interesting little quirk. To start, it's on software version 03 right now. Now then...I have the 8GB card in there and over 1000 songs added. If I play by artist, then it will play the songs for that artist and same thing if by album. BUT...if I try to play all songs, it states there are the right number of songs listed but only plays within the first 250. In shuffle mode, it never picks past song 250. If I choose "All Songs" and pick a song starting in say "S"...it picks a different song within that 250. Has anyone experienced this and/or know if v05 (or the mysterious v07) fixes this problem? I cant find my movies once I get them transfered to the dare. They are in the right format they just dont show up on my phone to watch. Any suggestions

I've read several questions about creating ringtones for my dare from music stored on my memory card but have had no luck doing so. One person stated that simply sending music via mms/pic message from your phone to itself and save it as a ringtone, BUT I can't seem to figure out how to select musci from my card & get it into a mms/pic message. I have been able to save a file from "my sounds" into ringtones by sending it to/from my phone but that's it. If anyone could please help I would greatly appreciate it!!

I am getting my Dare today and want to know if anyone can recommend a good case. I have considered going with a screen protector, but how scratch-proof is the screen? I appreciate any advice or thoughts. thanks

i have had my dare for a while, and i love it. i have been looking for a stereo headset since i have gotten the phone. i used a wired headset for a while, but im tired of wires.

i have used the moto s9 stereo and the old moto(the big one, i dont know the model, but its older)

i just bought the samsung sbh500, and i have to say im impressed. im a techie, so im kinda hard to impress. this samsung is just great. the sound quality is amazing for music, and when you talk, the other person is in stereo. i can use the headset in a store a lil smaller then an olimpic swimming pool. no static at all. anyone interested in stereo bluetooth should really really consider these

Does the LG dare have it? i mean the Iphone has it, the instinct has it, as well as all the treos and blackberrys. im so over using the inbox/outbox style of text messaging. if not, you think verizon will come out with an update for this? any help would be great.. thanks in advance 😎

Hello all, I am trying to sync my outlook contacts to my Dare using BitPim. I have successfully sync'd contact phone and email info, but for some reason have not been able to transfer over the mailing addresses for contacts I have stored in outlook. When I look at the available fields for a contact on the Dare, there doesn't even appear to be one for contact mailing address. Did LG really set up this phone to not be able to store contact mailing addresses, or am I missing something? Any help is really appreciated.

Anyone have the problem of the phone not recognizing a touch? Seems that I have to repeat one out of every ten touches. Sometimes I have to touch an icon two or three times before it takes it. This is driving me nuts. It's a real pain when writing a text.

I have normal size fingers and have calibrated the touch settings several times.

I want to be able to manage my phone content such as contacts (primarily), mp3, videos,images, etc.

Will I need some third-party software or does LG have their own?

hate when people down grade a phone when it comes out! Verizon is very good at fixing the bugs with new software updates which I dont know any other carrier that does. This phone the Voyager is only gonna get better in time and is not past its prime! Be patient some of you! And the Dare is in no way better than the Voyager! No real keboard for one etc.

is it possible to make the keys on the keyboard larger?

Do any of you (especially those who work for verizon) know when the price (for a 2 yr. contract) of this phone will come down? Thanks.
