LG Dare VX-9700

The Dare is miles better than the Voyager..sounds like someone who is "stuck" with the big clunky Voyager... Or hasn't tested out the Dare yet.

I concur. I don't use VZW but I played with the Dare this weekend and it's hand down better than that fat pig Voyager.

Owned the Voyager (for a short time), could not deal with a few of the shortcomings of the thing. Got rid of it and got mad, went back to a "regular" phone in the V9M until someone released a really good phone. I am now trying out the Dare for the free 30 days and can say it is MILES ahead of the Voyager.
This is not and should not be a Ford/Chevy thing based on stupid conclusions. Some like the Voyager and some like the Dare. All I can say for SURE is the Dare does everything better than the Voyager and the ONLY thing lacking is a real qwerty keyboard but the Dare's touchscreen keyboard is just as fast and accurate as the Voyagers and you do not have to deal with flipping it open and carrying around the bulk!

You people are way off bigtime! But its ok cuzz u have to have the new gadget everytime it comes out. I will have my Voyager until Voyager 2 is out or contract is up. Dare doesnt even compare, go look on infosync......

I'm not sure if you are a hypocrite or just ignorant. If you use this phone you will see right away that it is hands down one of the best phone EVER offered by verizon.

I had the Voyager and loved it. Now I have the Dare and love it even more. I don't miss having to switch between screens for different applications. And the touch screen works the first time I touch it!!

Not a hypocrite, I just go wih the best when my contract is up, new every two. 😲 I never pay full retail, what a waste of money! Enjoy you Dare or is it Dud?

can you explain whats better about the voyager? this should be interesting. the dare is smaller, lighter, faster, way more responsive then the voyager. only looses a physical keyboard (which is nice,im faster using t9 on the dare) and mobile tv. which is pretty good, but nothin special. and i sell vzw. sounds like someone who wasnt ready to upgrade or couldnt afford it. mine was 381 with a 50 mir. if you took care of the voyager you could get at least 150 for it, and that would make the dare 180

oh, and if you got the voyager for 300 after rebate with a contract, i got my dare for 330 after rebate with no contract. what a waste of money lol

Well i say, take your dare out in day light and see how quick you can send a text, if you can see key board, and I will open up voyager and type like hell on the key pad and will be able to see what im doing. Of course to see replys it will be bad for both the Dare and Voyager.

unless im in direct sunlight (can see the actual sun on my screen) its not that bad. florida is bright as sh*t and its ok, def not good, but visible. i wish it phones had the option of a 'eat your battery but see it anywhere' setting lol

I have had both for a signifacant time. The Voyager was great for me with texting. I was really having a hard time deciding if I wanted the dare because of the functionality of the Voyager. However I made the switch for the internet speed upgrade. Immediatly I have seen the difference. Douwload speed, the whole sunlight thing does not bug me, movile tv is an extra $15 anyways. I use my phone mainly for texting and for mobile web. I have the best of both worlds in the dare. I actually type faster on it then the voyager believe it or not. So for functionality the dare is way better then anything put out there. Defintitly receives consideration for the whole stupid I-phone killer debate.

But the message I am trying to get out is wait for software updates and all these phones when they first come out have some issues...

ok i owned the voyager with the first software, then got it flashed, then flashed again, and it still didnt/doesnt compare to the dare. no software updates oin the dare and it works great.

Thats not what I am hearing and I have my original Voyager which I have had no problem with, also was just at Verizon and was asking the employees how the Dare compares to the Voyager and everyone of them said Voyager hands down is better. Anyway I am done on this forum its a personal preference anyway.

the people at the vzw store you went to must be personally crazy. a keyboard and mobile tv (where available) def. doesnt make the voyager better. can you put full legnth movies on the voyager? and the 2.5mm headset port. come on. there is (aside from the keyboard) nothing better about the voyager. name one thing(besides mobile tv) that the voyager can do that the dare cant. i dare you 🙂

The Voyager is a great phone, the Dare is a great phone. No way one will suit all.
I love my Dare. My fiancee wants a physical keyboard, so she'll probably get the Voyager.
Different people need different things.
I'll be having a blast with my Dare. No matter what I'd take either over Apple's creation, lol. At least I don't drop calls.

the voyager is a great phone, thats why i bought it when it first came out. to say the dare is a dud, or to have the whole store say the voyager is better is bs. the people should say something like "if you need a physical keyboard, the voyager might be the right choice, but if you dont need a physical keyboard, the dare is better hands down" so again the statement still stands to peanut- or anyone

aside from mobile tv, name 1 thing the voyager can do that the dare cant....

Like I said I am done on this forum and its a personal issue and need to me anyway, have fun Mr. know it all willy! My friend has the Dare and he is taking it back fo the Voyager. Later dayssssssssss I Dare not to be on here anymore!

nice one. duh. your a very smart person. look at reviews of the voyager.... if your done then be done. let it go you have an old phone now and a new one is better. when the diamond or thunder come out they will be better then the dare.

Hey if u wanna get personal be an idiot, I wish I could meet you homeboy! Newer is not always better and dont worry the dare reviews will end up lower than the Voyager. Now I said I am done and you just keep on going, I try to help people on here, and give my advice, any Lg phone is gonna be a good one its just your preference so stop!!!!!!

OK I had my voyager and got the dare and yes the visual keyboard isnt as good but the phone itself is much more advanced and worlds better then the voyager which I had for 9 months and loved! If all you have to give out are downgrading thoughts then get off this form because you dont even own this phone, and must be psycic to know how crappy it is when you havnt even owned it! Bug off to your 🤣 voyager 🤭 post since its sooooo great! not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
