Any union legacy orange company owned retail sales consultants?

If there are any salesreps around who are willing to share (privately) how being union has helped/hurt re: compensation and benefits, it would be greatly appreciated. I am a legacy blue employee and am not looking forward to some of the changes we'll be seeing in the new year and am curious about the union possibilities. My email is in my profile.

cingular employees...

I understand this is probably an honest mistake, but heres what's been happening-

a former att cust who has a gsm phone wants to start service w/ cingular and has this old phone kicking around- cingular says "sure go ahead, but contact att for the unlock code"

I know cingular gives out unlock codes- i'm not sure what the requirements are, but here with former aws (blue) we have zero access whatsoever to unlock codes.

I wasn't going to post anything, but i've had 3 calls this week regarding this 🙂

In regards to the doctor's issue with appropriate titles, I merely say this:

Whether we are in sales or are CSRs, we are paid to help people, not take their abuse. If the doctor were to come into my store, and throw a tirade in any way even remotely similar to that which was described, I would merely state that "if you want me to help you, you are either going to have speak in a manner that is much more civil, or you will have to leave and come back when you are prepared to be reasonable".

this is for cutomers who just ask for a sup before you can even say your name

dear cust. please do not ask for a sup before you tell us what your issue is and there are many reasons for this... for one we know more than they do and two there job is not to talk to cust that is our job and what we are paid to do and three if you think the more you yell the more you will get think again, the nicer you are the more you get and also don't forget that you are talking to a person who has a life as well and when you are rude it does effect us on are moods and how we act. im sure you would not like it if you were at work and someone called yelling and saying how "you" did this and "you" did this when you have never talked to this person before so please if you call in and your mad and it is the cell comp fault let us fix it th...

Love and Hate

Just want to know what everyone else loves and hates about this business.

Hates 😡
1. SST telling customer Care is supervisors.
2. Loyalty department is never open. Should I tell the screaming maniac to call again to cancel?
3. The new survey at the end of every call. Yeah cause the job doesn't suck enough some days without being completely demeaning.
4. The FCC.
5. PAR.
6. Our escalation process. Would make you laugh if you knew.
7. I have been a great customer for years. If you don't give me all the credit I want I am going (fill in any other carrier's name)!
8. Cause I live in Canada I get crap compared to my American counterpart.
9.Calling tech and getting questioned on every step I have done. We do have a list before w...

I am a blue only rep. Just recieved a call from an orange customer- No problem, I can warm xfer the cust over to cingular.

So, I reach a cingular rep and she pulls up the account info, then says 'yes I can see this customers acct" and then asks me for my email address. I thought she was trying rep verify me or something, so i gave her my cingular email. she then says to me 'ok, im emailing you some notes that i need you to post in a blue account' now i was so confused, i thought that maybe i somehow got disconnected and re connected with a new rep!? so i said "pardon me?" and she repeated how she wanted me to notate a blue account for her. so i replied with

"I am a blue rep, Im calling YOU in orange because I have an orange cust on th...

POP fulfillment

Has any other Cingular agent or company store had trouble getting their T-Stand for the July POP?

Texas, I know you were talking to your account rep about it too. Apparently I have to contact the rep for North Texas and have her order it for us. I'm glad I know who she is, but I have a big fat suspicion I'll never see this in my store.

With my luck I'll have a Cingular VP visit my hole in the wall store and get in trouble for it as well.

What the heck!

Why is it that people don't take baths anymore? I mean, come on. Just because you work in a call center and the customer can't smell you, doesn't mean your co-workers can't. 😕

I MUST HAVE REVENGE!!!

I was just wondering what you out there do for those customers that just tick you off. I know we all have ways of messing with those very annoying customers. I personally will change the customers language pref. to spanish if they tick me off enough. This seems to be a very effective way to exact my revenge without messing with the customers account to much. SO what do you do?

Awww man

So I had this amazing German couple come in a couple weeks ago. They had been relocated to Illinois just days ago. (and they rolled up in a new Jag) But he hadn't even received his social yet. They were so nice and friendly and polite. Awesome to deal with. And new nothing about things like credit checks, socials, etc. So they say they'll be back.
Today they came back! They actually came back. I've never been happy to see customers before . I was hoping they had some amazing bank account on their newly established credit file. But no. T-Mobile (i work for Tmo, their German, they come to me first) wants a $500 deposit. The nicest couple ever. Obviously well off. $500. No, not fair. Their coming back next week with a check fo...

Hurricane Season

🙂
It's my first hurricane season as a customer service rep and I am afraid already. I had a woman in Florida call to ask if her phone would work during the hurricane. I explained that we could not guarantee service and she freaked out. Escalated about something that may or may not happen. I dont know if your phone will work wait and see than call back and freak out.
