Gimmie Gimmie

"Cut me a deal."

"Give me a break."

"Give me a discount."

"Encourage me, a loyal customer of fifty years, to stay."

This guy, kept saying "Give me..." which made me want to accidentally-on-purpose hang up on him. He's an existing customer of 7 years (so he says, whatever I don't care) who wants to add his nephew to his account. He currently has a promotional plan for 45.99 with 1000 minutes and free nights and weekends. It's a pretty sweet deal. It's also a promotion. It ended on the 31st of October, over a week ago. Our current promotion is better, 1500 with free nights and weekends for 49.99. Apparently this isn't good enough. I called Care for him to check, make sure he couldn't get the 1000 minutes plan for $4 less a ...

Assaulted on the job.

I swear to God, this man almost got punched in the jaw for his attitude towards me the other night. Here's the story: A$$hat comes nto the store to pay his bill. That is all gravy, until he whips out his checkbook. I personally don't go too many places that let you write checks without proper ID; so, as I do with EVERY customer writing a check, I asked for his license. "I don't have it with me." I told this guy I was sorry, however for his security I would take his check. After he told me he would call care to have them force me to take the check, I explained to him he could make the payment over the phone with a check and no ID. He did not want to do that so I told him that I would not be taking his payment via check that evening. So, to sh...

Telesales

I'm fed up with my company!!! They give phones away over the phone that I have to charge over $100 for, F-up the port then send the customer "into the corporate store" once again even though they know I can't even access the account. If I would have helped this customer to begin with, the port would have done through in 3 to 4 hours. This is the second day this poor woman has been trying to get her phone activated. I've been on the phone for almost an hour, I've talked to 5 people all giving a different excuse not to help me. I'm a corporate dealer and I've been doing this for 2 years. If I can't get this done how the hell is an idiot customer supposed to? F this S!!!!!!! 😡

Secrets of Customer Care?

As a retail store rep, I spend a lot of my time on the phone with Cust. Care. (Since we have access to about 2 percent of the resources we need to troubleshoot accounts/phones/etc...). My question is this, is there any way to inform the C.C. Rep that it's ok to cut with the scripted crap and just talk like a normal person? I fully understand the need for policy explanations, etc when talking to customers who may or may not know them, but is there some super-secret code phrase to have CC let their guard down when talked to store reps?

Why do they have to come in Drunk!?!?

Had a lady come in with her broken Moto T720 (no power). She is due for upgrade. She wanted her $100 phone credit billed to her account, whihc we all know is doesn't work that way. It took me and a wonderful customer care rep 20 minutes of explanation to get it taken care of. I am an indirect agent and could not offer a NE2 phone. You could smell her drunk a@@ from the front door.

Take your drunk a@@ home and sleep it off before you come see me. Damn. I could get drunk talking to her.

Not Authorized

I can't believe what some of these people say to me on the phone.

Gentleman (in the loosest sense of the word) calls in:

Me: Sir, are you an authorized user on the account?

Him: Yes. Yes I am.

Me: Well, I do need to verify this. It will take 1-2 minutes, do you mind holding?

Him: Well I don't have any choice now do I? You're gonna waste 5 minutes of my time either way aren't you?

Me: It should only be 1-2 minutes.

Him: Well how about this...lets start over and you pretend that my name is XXXXXXX (female account holder).

Me: Sir, that would be fraud.

Him: Fine then, hurry the hell up.

- At this time, I indeed verify that he is not authorized on this account.

Me: Hello, Sir? Thank you for holding. Unfortunat...

I can't take it anymore.

I've been on the phone all day, I'm working on a special project for the company (yet again) and I am a vegetarian (This is relevant.) When I agreed to the project I asked my boss to make sure she told the rest of them that fact, that I do not and can not eat meat (makes me very much ill and nobody will willingly sit in the same building as me after I eat it so I just don't.) because they are going to provide our meals for the project. She said she'd mention it. Either she didn't, or they just didn't listen/don't care. Our lunch today was comprised of two large trays of sandwich meat rolls, two giant tubs of potato salad and macaroni salad, a veggie tray and a tray which held a combination of cheese cubes and grapes. Now seeing how me e...

SPEAK UP!!!!!

i hate it when someone calls in and decides to practically whisper. dubya tee eff? If I were to sit in a restaurant and inaudibly whisper my order, I couldn't possibly blame the waiter for any mistakes. However, it is my fault that I am harrassing the caller who calls in to my line with questions like "What was that?" and "I'm sorry, could you repeat that, please?"

wow, that f-bomb was sure loud enough

Cingular Holiday 2005 POP

Has anyone taken a close look at the latest attachment for the Cingular MEdia signs? It's the one with the green background and a photo of a black RAZR on it talking about IMs.

If you haven't, check out the conversation going on with yahoo! messenger.

"I'm gonna call this place, though I have no clue what I'm going to say"

It would seem logical, that before one places a phone call to someone or somewhere that this individual would at least have a general idea of what they are going to say. But as most of us know, people don't think things through.

The following phone call is one that I just handled 5 minutes ago:

Me: Thank you for calling XXXX, this is Dave how may I help you?

Customer: Hi, do you guys carry.........uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hh
umm, umm umm umm umm umm umm umm umm

(15 second pause of dead air)

Me: Hello? Sir? What is it that you're looking for?

Customer: I'm looking for those types of phones, uhhhhhhhhhhhhh, oh gosh, um, um, um, the types of phones that people used in their cars?

Me: *baffled* "Are you looking ...

How did you get through school?

I just ran this girl's credit. She was 19 and employed so I'll go out on a limb and say she graduated high school. When we got to employment, I asked how long she had been "tenured" at her current employment. Her response... "Ten years! I haven't been there that long!" At least she did not seem to take my laughter personally.

this is a ? for can_cell

i recently got moved to another store location that is not as busy as the mall that i currently work at. reason being i just feel more comfortable there and tend to make less mistakes when i work in a store because there are less distractions, anyways how do you feel about mailing letters to customers as appose to calling them?

i know that calling may be better and more personable however i feel that if they receive a letter they wont fell like they are being telemarketed, and they can come in on there own leisure.

Is this even possible? I have a customer who is getting harassing phone calls and he called his carrier but they informed him it was impossible to block numbers from calling in. Is this true??????
