If I was that smart...

Ok... I don't understand people...

Cust: "This data cable doesn't work!"

Me: "I'm sorry you purchased the wrong one. I can exchange that one for the one that will work for your phone." I knew that the other sales rep (A newbie that lacked common sense) had mistakenly sold him the wrong one.

Cust: "It won't put my pictures on my computer!"

Me: "I understand that sir. You were mistakenly given the wrong one. I will exchange it for you."

Cust: "I just paid some computer tech 200 dollars to try and get it to work. Are you going to pay for that?"

Me: "I'm sorry sir but I cannot do that."

Cust: "So I'm out 200 dollars?"

Me: "I'm sorry but I would have returned the equipment before I paid 200 dollars to a computer tech. How ...

small things

This is a really small thing, but so many customers do this that it is really starting to piss me off.

Why is it that every time I ask someone,
"Do you mind if I place you on hold?"

their answer is always "Yeah.", but they are trying to say they don't mind. Have these people ever spoken to someone on the phone before? If I ask you a question, and you answer opposite to how you feel every time, what am I supposed to do? I simply ask, "You do mind?" and they usually just say "Yeah, go ahead."

ARRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have all completely lost our minds.

There are probably ten of us on our team today, Thanksgiving, and between us we have taken maybe 30 calls... all day. We have one gal up as the 'resource' for a team that is 90% mentor certified anyways. We've spent most of the day asking her how to do mundane tasks such as bring up our e-mail and plug in our headsets out of sheer boredom. I brought yarn. I'm running out. I'm going to finish the full poncho before I go home today and I started it just after I logged in. Who's bright idea was it to have us even open today. I'm going to kick them in the head.

A Classic

So it's boring here today, in case anybody was wondering but I never thought when I came in that I would basically be paid to sit and play Neopets and answer the rare questions the cropped up. But this call, taken by one of the four people who haven't been sent home today, was classic.

The rep taking to call turned to me where I was sitting on a desk crocheting because I was the only person there who wasn't less than a month into their stay in this particular circle of the pit of fiery torment... and asked me did we carry a phone called the "V3" I started laughing but managed to compose myself long enough to explain that the RAZR is what the customer was looking for. My next response was. "And no it's not free. He's going to ask if i...

Person Burned By Exploding Battery

Did anybody read the article about the girl being burned by an exploding Cell Phone battery?

It was on MSN or Yahoo News last night.

She had it laying on her dorm room bed, charging and the the phone/charger sparked and caused the battery to burst and catch the bed on fire.

Can't remember all the details and I can't post the link because of the firewall we have here at work.
Had to be a fluke incident.

How bad would that suck?

Wow...they never cease to amaze me....

I know I've read it on here before, but I never thought it would happen to me.

I just had three guys come in, two of them really....weird. They went right over to the Nextel phones, and when asked if they needed help, they were "just looking." 0.73 seconds later they have a question... 🙄

Customer: "I'd like this phone please..."

Me: "Okay, can I see your driver's license?"

Customer: "No, we just want two of the dummy models..." 😳

Me: "Uuuuuhhhhhh....are you serious? Why would you want a fake phone?"

Customer: "It's okay, we'll pay for it..."

Me: "Well, I don't understand, but let me ask my boss..."

I don't even need to ask him, I already know the answer...

Me: "Yeah, sorry...we're not gonna be able to sel...

Oops!

I did an oops here at work. Actually this was a few months ago but it just occurred to me to write about it since I'm fresh out of id10t stories.

This was back when I was still trying to get my schedule changed and we were just launching the new order software so sometime in the end of August, beginning of September. I had come in on both of my days off that week to help with the start of the launch and as we were getting settled the operations manager and the other people in charge came in and told us that we were just going to take calls as normal because the wonder-children in charge of the new software couldn't get it to come up. I groused about this because it was technically my day off. Apparently this was very bad because the o...

THE BOTTOM LINE

in regards to the post below about corp. stores and agents.

after reading every single post it seems to me that we are all defending our company that we work for, which is a good thing, after all, you should support your product, but arguing with each other about it know one wins because every company is different.

i agree with some of you that customer service brings repeat business but cingcing i think said that he looses business by dealing with nothing but customer service issues all day which takes away from his sales and i agree with that as well.

its a dog eat dog world out there and everyone has there own selling style...some are worried about the bottom line ( making the sale no matter what it takes) and others rely on the...

Can't You Just Transfer Me?

I hate that line. It won't cost them any money to call an 800 number but oddly enough if we transfer them to that same number it costs us... a lot. People get so pissed because I literally am unable to transfer them to another department. They curse and yell at me because they are too lazy to write down a number to call to get to the people they need. What's funnier is nine times out of ten if they had listened to the audio menu the first time, the computer would have routed them to the correct place right off the bat and they wouldn't have to call again.

This is Awesome!

I activated 2 lines with 25 dollars in features for this lady earlier today. She just came back saying best buy offered her a better deal. lol Ok I'll return your equipment for you. I noted the account with phantom churn called my DM so they don't get paid then waited an hour. Then I took all the features off her account and re-added them, effectively jacking the crap out of the indirect agent. Basically Best buy sold two $200 phones for next to free and didn't get a dime for them! I didn't care about the act's anyway, the features were the important part. lol

Nice try best buy, good job get another one! 🤣

I saw that commercial for Sprint...

I saw that Sprint commercial with the voodoo dolls... I'm going to make one for STUPIDITY... and EUBONICS

"I placed me a order yeserday for one o' dem juicy coture sidekick phones and I wants to find out where it were at."

"Yeah... uhh... I... yeah... what you mean? I just wants to get this phone turned on what my cousin gave me."

"I want to order this phone and have it sent to my wife. She's working in Florida. What city you ask? I don't know, can't you just look it up? I want it sent to her but I don't know the address." Why exactly did you call to try and place an order when you had NO idea where you wanted it sent... that's the first question. Second. How can you not have any idea where your wife is? She's gone to work an...

The times when being a corporation SUCKS

This is a slow month for many reasons. We're projecting a net profit of only 13,000. For a two man store, that's not bad... but it's still slow. We keep our inventory down to keep our overhead low. This helps increase our gross profit! If you're very organized, this works the best.

Five minutes ago I got an email from corporate saying they got a good rate on some phones, so they're going to distribute them among the stores. We currently have 9 of them in stock. We've had 9 of them in stock for the past month. The ordered 37 more for us, at a total cost to our store of $2220. I'm pissed.

No Refund For You!!

I got a customer in here the other day who was considering getting a phone. His problem with getting a post-paid account is that he goes to Mexico quite frequently and he doesn't want to have to pay for service he can't use while he's away. I tell him that he can get a prepaid phone, it would probably suit his needs better since he is a light talker. I tell him all the major prepaid plans that are available to him and he says they all seem like a good idea. He's particularly happy with the T-Mobile pay-as-you-go plan.

A couple days pass and he comes in with a phone and tells me that he got a phone. He said his son was using it, but didn't want it anymore. His son bought him some minutes, but he wanted to add more. He asked me if we had a ...

Do they not know or do they not care?

I have to think it's a mix of both but do these chuckleheads not realized that when they call us and waste our time asking us questions about the hardware to say "Oh I'll call back later, thanks for the info." That they are costing me money? Every time these idiots call in to pick my brain they bring my percentage down another knock and today I have about had it. I've had 20 people call me. Of that 20 TWO have been interested in buying service. One couldn't figure out what the CVV number was and just finally hung up, the other it took her ten minutes to get over the same hurdle. TEN, that's half, of the people who have crank called me today 'just want to ask some questions' and spend twenty minutes asking me questions about the phones ...

CptFarlow's analogy is AWESOME!!

The cable service/comes with what size TV analogy is very good. Wireless companies did themselves a disfavor with handset discounts. Created a monster of a consumer. "I've never paid for a phone" mentality is not only going drain the ARPUs but I see big litigations steming from that.

Credit Results

So I ran an app this morning with the result of a no hit (no existing credit history), but it also said MARKET MAX in big bold letters next to it. In two years, I've never seen that.

Does anybody know what that means?
