This guy should get an award.

So this guy backs his beat a$$ caravan into a handicap spot RIGHT infron of our store. Calmly walks into the mall so I don't really think much of it. 5 min later he comes booking around the corner with a shoe box in his hand gets into his van and takes off so fast it's a wonder his vehicle didn't fall apart. Ofcourse, I got his plate #. On my way to the shoe store a rep from the jewelry store asks me if I saw what happened. It turns out that he had filled out a credit application there and then gone and stolen the shoes. So now the shoe store has his: Full legal name, address, social security #, contact phone # and a detailed description and license plate # of his car!

He could have planned this better! 🤣

ever have this happen?

A woman comes up with an old old nokia that won't hold a charge anymore. I tell her she may be better off getting a new phone. she refuses says she hates our company and is cancelling. Then she asks to use our phone to call her daughter long distance(!) since she cant use her cell. I decline and say no, we will be charged for it. Then she asks to use my personal cell phone! I have a local plan, NO long distance(I dont travel at all). Plus, i just bought a RAZR and can't get insurance on it. No way is she using it! After arguing over why I wont let her use it for a few minutes I directed her to the pay phones and bid her good day. Anyone else have similar experiences?

Customer driving me crazy....Help!

Ok guys I know this is wrong but this guy is driving me crazy! He is not your typical guy, you can tell he isn't right. Well he is obsessed with tigers and putting pictures of them on his phones as well as doing many other things with his phone. Thing is he will call me 4 or 5 times a day and then come by the store to get me to help him. I don't mind I really don't but its getting out of hand because I have to be extremely patient and it takes up soooooooooo much time. What should I do? I don't want to come off as being an a** to the mentally challenged but i'm going to be mentally challenged if I don't do something!

I've been a customer for ...

This man just came in with a "broke" phone. Just as you thought he did not have insurance and was not eligible to upgrade. I told him that the cheapest phone we had to out right buy was $149.99. "But why so much I have been a customer for XX years and I deserve to get a phone cheaper than that. Cingular needs to do something to help out customers in a situation like mine" Then this is where I come back with " well sir, Cingular does offer insurance for customers in your situation. Now is do you want to but this phone or are you going to go somewhere else and buy it" He walks out w/o saying a word. Gotta love them! 🙄

I don't want to be here.

I really just don't want to be here today. Well most days I don't but here I am. I told a friend of mine that I was working 50 hours this week and he asked me why... my response... I hate my job.

It actually really makes sense in a twisted way. I hate my job SO MUCH that I am willing to work those 50 hour weeks on a regular basis in order to have the money saved to go back to college so I can get a job I don't hate instead of being stuck here.

How can it be so dead in here?

Come on guys...your killin' me here. Stop working and start posting! 😉

It's pretty slow in here today. Although I did have one woman who just left trying to convince me that the phone she had wasn't a Cingular phone. (It was an original RAZR... 🙄 ) I sell Sprint...

I told her to ask anybody who knows something about phones and they will tell her that she is wrong. She didn't listen, so she left. She said she was going to RadioShack to activate it, because they were nicer there and would do it right away for her.

This happened about a week or so ago, and all the time...

People walk into the store dressed in jogging cloths or like they are going to the club, and "axe if they can gets a job" HE** NO!

I can't stand when people come in and want a job and aren't even dressed or do not have a resume. What is this world coming to?

Anyone else get this???

old story, new version...

my old company had a terms and conditions sheet for buying prepaid phones. item 1: all prepaid sales are final, no refunds, etc. item 2:phones MAY BE REFURBISHED... straightforward enough, right? guy comes in with his wife, demanding a refund for his prepaid phone (mind you, this is 10 MONTHS after he bought it) because no one told him the phone was 'used'. i tell him i'll replace the phone for him (just didn't feel like arguing) but it'll be another refurbished phone, he tells me that's not good enough, i have to give him cash back or he's calling a lawyer. so i pull his customer file, find the T & C sheet, photocopy it and put it on the counter. i ask if that's his signature on the bottom, he says yes. i then asked to read items 1 and 2 o...

Be Nice.... I'm Sor-dof new....

🙂 Hello Everyone.... I know my name looks new to you because, well, it is. I have been reading phonescoop for quite awhile, and many of your post help pass my day along. I work for the GIANT VZW, and they don't let us post. I have been reading threads for a little over a year and decided that I would pop up and say hello. Just incase Moto comes under a new name, we in Upstate NY want to thank you for your mother-goose stories, they are extremely entertaining. The jokes are great, and we copy and paste them and send them all over the office. I'm glad that religion has been dropped, those were HORRIBLE threads... basically keep up what you're doing, we appreciate the entertainment... and of course feel free to say to me anytime! 😁

So I had this customer

I had this customer little old lady calling me because she is going to visit her son and daughter in law for the holidays and needs to know if she should pack sweaters for her trip. she then went onto how her neighbor has no credit and the poor woman needed a cell phone in case she ever fell down and couldn't get up. After 40 minutes of hearing about her neighbors woos she went back into what she should pack for her trip. I recommended a red sweater.

Grrr....it really grinds my gears when...

...customers don't get a bill, so they feel that means they are entitled to one free month of service. Then when there service gets cut off, they come in here, and being to complain to me about what to do. I tell him to pick up the customer service line, and now he is arguing about paying a bill that he never got.

Grrr.... 👿

Other than that...how are your Fridays going? 🙂

What I really wanted to say was "YOU ARE A LIAR!" But that wasn't an option

At first I was sympathetic, she said she'd been getting the run-around trying to place a new order. I believed that and I was pretty sure it was not because we were doing it on purpose, but the new ordering software has been behaving itself very badly of late and some orders HAVE been lost.

She didn't yell, she didn't raise her voice, she didn't swear, she was pretty calm if not polite. But we got around to where she had vented her frustration (a little bit) and was willing to re-process the order with me so that we could get the phone out to her. We got the right phone, we got the free shipping, the plan and when we got to the legal text that where the FUN started. 🙄

She didn't want to pay the activation fee. She wanted me ...

Really funny shaped number

I just had to post this one.

The guy is reading information off of the label on the phone so that I can find out the make and model. It's a Motorola, so you know that they have the internal model number and the commercial model number.

I explain (about 4 times) that it is one letter followed most likely by a 3 digit number, such as v330, t720, c650, etc.

He then proceeds to read the wrong one.
But that's not the kicker.

This is word-for-word how it went:

Him: "Well, I do see where it says model. It's got a "C" followed by....ummm......well it looks like a really funny shaped backwards "3".

Me: Sir, could that possibly be an "E"?

Him: Umm.........maybe.

Surprise, surprise.........this guy is from western North C...
