Speakerphone

I really don't like speaker-phones, actually I despise them. A woman called in asking if she could get a PEBL for free and then a RAZR and then did we have the Sidekick 3 (we don't) and would that be free? And what about the Sidekick 2, is that one going to be free since the 3 is coming out?

But she was on a speaker-phone, and a BAD one. Every time I answered I got really bad feedback that was actually a little painful. When I finally asked if she could not use the speaker-phone as it was causing a lot of bad feedback she hung up on me.

Was I out of line asking her to not use the stupid speaker-phone as it was causing me physical pain? I simply said "I'm sorry, ma'am, I'm getting some pretty bad feedback from your speaker-phone,...

Do u have kids?

I come back from lunch with my lunch in hand
(I haven't ate yet) and I see my fellow co-
worker swamped,

so like the good person I am
(yea right)I decide to help her. Sitting my
lunch to the side and asking the next
customers in line what I can help them with.

They wanted to add a line to their family talk. It was a man who looked like he just woke up in the woods and a woman who was even less atractive, plus the 2 hellians who were literally destroying my store.

I politely asked the woman if she could get her kids to stop being so elusive and she got mad and stomped out. Her husband (or whatever) proceeds to say:

"If you wouldn't of been so smart with her she wouldn't of done got pissed off"

How to tell if you're incompetent

Do you write software and are you wondering if maybe you're incompetent? Here's a very good way to tell.

Does the software that you write crash on a regular basis?

Does it fail to load up more often then it actually loads?

Does it give incomprehensible error messages for no apparent reason?

Those are some clues that you are incompetent. If you are on the team that wrote our current ordering software here are some more things your software should and should not due.

It should NOT

1. Time out in under two minutes
2. List the incorrect prices
3. Automatically put in the wrong date in all fields
4. Give error messages before even loading
5. Take ten minutes to load (especially when it times out in under two.)
6. Take ten...

But it didn't work before!!

Why is it when a customer brings in a phone that is having problems and you tell them the phone has been liquid damaged they proceed to give you a list of problems the phone had before? I get this at least once a week. I'm sorry if it didn't work before, but since you didn't bring it in until now and it has been liquid damaged, the warranty is void. And no, arguing with me won't change that. My ultimate favorite with this is when they tell you what's not working, you explain to them there's been liquid damage, and they tell you the phone has NEVER gotten wet. Well, the liquid indicator sticker says otherwise. Then, they tell you it didn't work before that either. Um, if you're so sure it never got wet, then how do you know it didn't w...

What does this solve?

So we had a customer come into our store today with a bill for $500 from her drug addict boyfriend. When we told her that she would still have to pay it she started crying and hitting her head on the counter...repeatedly. So I ask. What does this solve?

We work for the same company! Lets work together, geez!

two guys come into my store together. one has a smart access line that's out of contract. the other has no account, but qualifies for 3 lines and wants all 3 lines. we decide to cancel the out of contract phone and open a new account under 3-line-guy's name. I call customer care to cancel.

cc rep: so the customer would like to cancel service? is he aware that there's a 30 day notification policy put into place?
me: so you mean he has to let you know a month ahead of when he wants to cancel, even though he's out of contract?
cc rep: yes.
me: ok i guess we want to put in that 30 day notice then.
(Please note: We are currently one day into this customer's billing cycle, mind you.)
cc rep: ok. well he has to cancel at the e...

Use Your Own Freaking Phone!!!!!

So, I had this customer come in to replenish her prepay account...Well she didn't have enough money to pay the service fee. So she asks to use our phone to call her son to bring more money when he comes to pick her up. So she calls him and he comes in and brings me the money and she is still on our store phone. So I put money on her account, and 10 minutes later she is still calling her peeps on our phone....GRRRRR

Are you freaking kidding me?

I just had a lady in the store right now that brought in a crying baby. As she walked in she said, "I don't want anything, I just wanted to bring her in the cool for a little bit." It's NOT that hot outside, and my store ISN'T a freaking playground. She took her over to our demos (non-working thankfully) and used it like a toy for a little bit. I HATE CRYING BABIES! They are the WORST things in the world.

Sorry, just had to vent a second.

I'm not Superman

Situation:
Dirty looking bum pulls up outside our store on his 10 speed. looks at our store for a minute and then proceeds to try and say something to us through the glass doors. Well, I'm not superman and don't have super hearing powers,so I beckon him in with my hand. Anyways, he doesn't qualify for a phone so I tell him t-mobile and verizon are up the street, and as he puts his mountain dew into his cup holder on his 10 speed he says..."well guess I'm back on the bike."

WHAT !?!?

OK, so I come back from lunch to find the store rather packed. I called for the next cust in line. When she gets to my register, she says her phone don't work...it won't hold charge. And that she NEEDS a phone, TODAY! I took a quick look at it, and let her know that the phone might have LIQUID DAMAGE, and to get it properly looked at by one of our techs tomorrow. **INSERT DRAMA SCENE** After many attempts, we couldn't help her out in any other way. So, of course she came at me with the always popular "I've been a SPRINT Cust for "X" yrs, I'VE ALWAYS paid my bills on time! and I WANT a FREE phone!!" 🤨 I checked to see if by some miracle she quaified for any discounts...she didn't. So, I simply told her that my hands were tied and that she...

NO!

i come in today, and my first customer was a customer wanting to upgrade... awesome, i start on my spiel...

she stops me and tells me the phone was dropped in a pool yesterday, and they had removed insurance 3 months ago, and were not elligible to upgrade... wow. this customer seems smart.

well, she explains that the phone USED TO drop calls, has for a WHOLE YEAR OF SERVICE, and she has only done 1 XBM. after i explain that she cannot use XBM again to exhange the phone, she begins yelling, telling me that they SHOULD because she had been having problems for a year.

i stopped her, and repeated everything back to her.

"SO, you've had this phone for three hundred and sixty five PLUS days, and it's been dropping calls left and rig...

LET ME TALK TO YO MANIJAH!

Why is it that people think that talking to a manager will change the store's policy? If there are no returns on faceplates, why would talking to the manager allow you to return your faceplate? If the 1 year warranty covers defects NOT DAMAGE, how will talking to the store manage change the warranty? If the insurance company, a seperate company mind you, denied your claim because you told them you threw the phone at the wall, how is talking to a manager for this company going to help you?
