Yes, that's a good plan.

Get pissy with me. It helps.

I finally had to warn this guy... "Sir, I've had nothing to do with this order until you called me just now, I need you to calm down and be reasonable or I'm going to have to disconnect this call. I can't help you fix this if you're yelling at me."

Which he took rather well.

But seriously, it was somebody else's order in a different department and if I were a meaner person I could have told him to call them and hung up on him.

People really need to stop taking their pissy mood out on people who did nothing to deserve it.

What the hell is so hard to understand about this?

I just took a call from a lady whose son had called in and told us he broke his phone on the 10th. He didn't add insurance until the 15th. So she calls in saying he looked at the calendar wrong and she would like us to change it. I tell her I can't do that because we have to go with the original date given.

She apparently can't grasp this concept and asks the age old question, "You mean I'm paying insurance for a phone I can't use it on?" Once I explain to her that she could have used had we been given a date during the coverage period, she then says she doesn't understand why we can't just adjust a week.

After I explain to her that we can't do that to prevent insurance fraud, she then escalates to my sup. I can't stand these people....

This Coworker

I have this coworker I really want to slap. I mean really really want to slap... or stab with a pen or something equally violent.

It's not that she's bad at her job, any time we have to interact in a professional situation she is a consummate professional, she's fine on the phones it is just off the phones where she is a total (pardon the language) Bitch. It makes it hard for ME to behave myself when I have to call to her department for anything, I've actually hung up on her when she answered rather than work with her.

Here's what happened.

Last winter it was bitter bitter cold... almost negative numbers. I was making scarves and hats and things for Christmas presents and selling them (easy to do busy work like that at my desk, I...

What the heck is wrong with people.

Stupid illiterate incompetent inbred woman!

It's just stupid. Fine, you idiot, hang up on me because you don't like the price on the phone. The RAZR isn't free, you're an idiot, and it's a CRAPPY PHONE ANYWAYS!

I have a list of cities I wish would just randomly fall into very deep sinkholes.

Birmingham, Jackson, Atlanta, Memphis and Mobile. Worthless rat hole stinking god-awful cities. Does anybody in any of them actually pay their bills on time? I feel very sorry for you if you work in any of those cities.

Customers who lie should die

Ok, that's a bit harsh, but seriously, why do people feel the need to lie? I had a customer upgrade two of her daughters' phones last Tuesday. She got them both a Razr. I told her how much it would be and she seemed pretty much ok with the price since her daughters were gonna pay for some of the cost. Well, the very next day she comes in with her husband and her husband accuses us of ripping her off because the ad we have in the paper says the Razr is $59.99 after rebate. That price, however, is only on a new activation which it states in the ad (but why would they read any further than $59.99 🙄 ). They say that that's exactly what they're doing, getting new lines. They're told that no, what they're doing is upgrading. Then they accuse ...

who has it worst

those in call centers or those in stores? I think that those of us in store because we have to see these "nice people" face to face. whereas call centers can aways "lose the call" when dealing with these "nice people".

Opening script..?????

😳
For those of us that work at call centers, we know how futile opening call scripts can be. I mean does anyone even listen to it?
There was a website I found once where someone was testing this theory.
He took 100 calls and made the call scripts the following...
"Thank your for calling, my name is ****** my keyboard is missing and my pants are on fire. HOw can I help you today?"
And out of 100 calls only 10 people responded with anything more than going right into thier problem.
So it just goes to show, it isnt what you say on the phone, the people calling in are still gonna seem clueless.

Wrong Number

Just out of curiosity, how many times in a day do you get calls for a different carrier? I had a call on Saturday. When I answered, I said Verizon Wireless". The caller proceeds to tell me she has a Cingular phone, and before I can tell her "Wrong number" she launches into a story about what her problem is. When I interrupt her to tell her we are a Verizon store, not Cingular, she asks me if I can connect her. 😳 I'm not freaking 411, no I can't do that. Seriously, how hard is it to look up a number? And now I just got a phone call from someone wanting to know the number for the T Mobile store. I don't even know where there is a T Mobile store around here.

Alzheimers and security codes = a new sim

Im so tired of helping stupid customers who set their security code on their phone and forget the password. Then claim that they never made a password, and they dont know what it could be. So I tell them that I will fix it for a $25 charge, and they get all pissy about it, "Why should I have to pay for it? I didnt set a code" GGGGRRRRRR!!!! 👿

If your that stupid, Dont mess with security settings!!

Red Neck Antics

See a guy pull up in the parking lot. He's driving a ford with a dumpbed on the back. He is wearing a flannel shirt, wranglers, and a camoflauge hat that says at&t in white writing on it.

Me: How you doing today sir?

Him: Well, my brother and his kid were in here 2 days ago and they said my phone has a recall on it.

Me: Ok I'd be happy to check that out let me see your phone...ok this phone never had a recall on it but we did see some issues with a few of them where the antennae would stop working.

Him: Thats what the damn thing is doin. I can never here nobody.

Me: Well your speaker is probably bad. There is nothing wrong with the antennae on yours. And the phone was never recalled and you are out of warranty.

Him: Well I...

We may interrupt or terminate your service without notice for any conduct that we believe violates this Agreement or any terms and conditions of your rate plan, or if you behave in an abusive, derogatory or similarly unreasonable manner with any of our representatives,..."

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had the dumbest cusotmer ever just a few minutes ago. I'm siting at work at the back desk and this guy walks up to the door. (NOTE:We have two doors, 1 we keep locked and the other is for customer use). Ok so he walks up to the door and pulls on the one that is locked. He looks surprised. So he looks into the store which by the way has the lights ON, and he can clearly see me siting at the desk. He pulls on the locked door again, (never even attempting to try the other door), and he walsk away. Also there is a big neon OPEN sign the the HUGE window in front of the store. Sorry guys I just can't get over that one!!!!! 😳

Phone TV Service

Just had an older guy stop in our store. He wanted to know where he can sign up for the TV service through the phone company because he doesn't want Cable, Dish, or Direct TV. Since when did the phone companies start offering TV service? 😳
