Do you have the packaging?

So, guy came in yesterday, bought an 8300, music kit, bluetooth headset, the works. I don't even try to sell him that stuff. He asked for it when he came in the door. It was a new line, so he's just getting the usual promo pricing. He didn't question price at all. Paid cash. I gave him a good deal on everything. I smiled as he walked out the door thinking about the commission I just made.

He comes back today and decides he doesn't want service. Fine...I can get him on the phone with CS to cancel the service. A ton of problems follow. He has NONE of the packing from any of the stuff he bought. He just had the phone, memory card, BT headset, stereo headset, etc. all stuffed in a Walmart bag. He didn't even have the box for the...

Beyond

I thought we already covered this in another thread, but I'll say it again. If uou don't like Nikki, then don't read her posts.

I think it's absolutely rediculous that you drag up a post from February just to make a pathetic attempt at showing the forum how sad of a human being she is. You're the one that's sad and can't let it go. It makes you look even worse that you searched the forum this far back just to find something like this to make a comment on.

I enjoy Nikki as do most of the members, but if you don't that's fine. However, you're never going to win a popularity contest by dragging up old threads and making sarcastic remarks about them.

Insurance, A question if you will...

I had a thought about insurance and was unsure what the answer would be; so I figured I'd ask here.

Does the insurance cover the retail cost of the phone?

I was thinking about how they state that some models might not be available for replacement and that a different phone would be substituted.

Does that mean the substitute can cost up to the retail price of the original phone?

I thought it would/should with perhaps some form of devaluation over time, but not necessarily in line with the retail prices at that time.

just have to get it out....

I know we all have rotten customers, but this one pi$$ed me off so much my head it about to explode! I'm also a little worried that I might get in trouble for flying off the handle in the end. ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

Guy comes in with 2 different LG phones (8100, 3300). 3300 has a charging port completely destroyed (most likely by trying to force the charger in the wrong way) and most of the back of the phone is pried apart.

The second phone (8100) looks normal. It doesn't indicate any water damage, etc.

The guy is upset because he's having trouble charging his battery. Come to find out, he's been taking the battery from the busted phone (which he tried to take apart without taking any of the screws out to try to "fix" the busted port)...

Unauthorized Port

So a customer comes into the store yesterday saying his phone can make, but not receive calls.

Our company had been having problems with the network switch the day before, so naturally I immediately assumed he had done an ESN change during that time, and the changes hadn't gone through in the system yet. No big deal.

I called our regular tech support to see if it were something tech could push through the switch, I'd just the same thing for another customer an hour ago. While on hold the customer tells me his phone number had been ported to another carrier by his ex-girlfriend without his authorization using his social security number, and he'd been working with customer care to get his phone working again. For whatever reason customer...

As for there always being activation fees, you are mistaken.

I have never paid any activation fee with any service I have used. Simply because I refuse to pay a company a fee to be able to do business with them. It is amazing how easily they are waived. Afterall, if you charge them and 80% pay them, you are still making an incredible profit.

I'm really sick of this. All I ever hear from you when it comes to fees, or promotions, or anything else regarding you actually having to take cash out of your wallet to pay for anything other than your monthly bill is how you don't have to pay them because you're so cool. I talk to retards like you every day. People who can't get it thr...

Question for the techs in this forum

Have you ever had a customer bring a phone that wasn't working, examined it, and then found the problem to be liquid damage caused by an unidentified white substance? ๐Ÿคฃ

Seriously though, I always wondered if that happened.

I almost got fired......(kinda long)

...this past week.... now since we've had a shortage of employees at my call center, they hace been trying to get us to work overtime to pick up the slack....

Now i have no problems working overtime but, i dont want someone to make it practically manditory... but any ways since they cant really "legally" make us work OT they are writing us up for dumb sh!t and then saying, "if you work 8 hours OT, we will take away 1 write-up"..... now you can only get wrote up 3 times b4 you get walked out..... so every pay period if ur stats arent up to par you get a write up.... we were told by our team leads, or managers, that our production, which makes up part of our stats, are made up for how long you are in the phones and taking calls..... so bas...

Today is weird...

Today has been a general pain in the ass so far. We've had weird situations with almost every customer and everything has been exceedingly difficult to do.

First guy starts going on to the new guy about how a year ago he was told he could have extended nights (an $8.99/mo feature) for free and he doesn't want to have to pay for it now. He actually insisted that I call customer service to be sure we couldn't do that. He was a huge pain in the ass for the first half of the transaction but then was really nice and thanked me for my patience for the last half.

Then we had a lady that wanted to up her rate plan and add a line. I made the mistake of upping the rate plan first, which made it impossible to add the line. We activated an in...

different carrier port issues.

i'm with cingy, and we get most of our business these days from porting numbers. it seems like there are only 2 more people out there who don't have a cell phone, and people are just switching from carrier to carrier. i've done plenty of them and came across an interesting point about sprint and nextel. you can only port on line at a time if they are on a family plan. with all other carriers you could do the whole transaction with 3 or 4 lines at a time from one carrier to another, but with sprint/ nextel, if you try it, you destroy the universe and tie up the custy's lines for days while a ticket is opened to fix it. so heads up...you can't batch port sprint/nextel. that's how i learn things these days...by destroying universes...

Customers Lie

I just had a lady come into my store and tell me she wanted to exchange her phone. I said no problem did you get it from a T-Mobile corporate store. She said I got it from this store yesterday so I ask to see her receipt. It is a receipt from and authorized dealer some 50 miles away. I told her that she would have to go down to them there is nothing I could do for her and of course she went nuts on me like it was my fault. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

My only gripe today....so far

Me: "Our records indicate you have a Nokia 6010. Is that correct?"

Customer: "Yeah, the razor."

Mind you, you can insert absolutely any make and model phone in this script you'd like and it's always the same.

Sorry, this has happened three times already today. It irritates me.

That's Bullsh*t

Cust: That's bullsh*t man. You mean i've gotta pay a deductible to get my phone?

Me: Yes sir. (Oh my God, you actually have to pay for something you use?!)

Cust: Well why do i have to pay it over the phone, why can't you put it on my bill?

Me: I'm not sure sir, we have never had that access.

Cust: I want a refund. Cancel my insurance and give me a refund.

Me: You'll need to contact Sprint to cancel your insurance. And I'm sorry, but they do not issued refunds for the services you have asked for.

Cust: Transfer me back to Sprint then. I'm going to Nextel, because Nextel will put it on your bill.

Me: I can't transfer outside of my company. (And good luck with that because we also handle the Nextel account) ๐Ÿคฃ

It's starting early

A guy tried to follow me in to work as I was opening. I hadn't even turned off the alarm yet, but he was pleasant about waiting. After I opened (I opened early too) I thanked him for waiting (and I meant it). He was still pleasant. He wanted me to set up his email on a Crackberry. I don't really "do" crackberrys, but I tried to help him anyway. After ten minutes it was clear he didn't know any of the info concerning his email, and he had to leave to find the guy at his office who used to use that handset. I sooo prefer IMAP and POP to the Blackberry service.

Anyway, I just hope the whole day isn't filled with issues I can't really do anything about. If it is, it's gonna be a long one.

A New Chapter

Today is so weird, because it's my last day doing things the way I have for almost two years. I almost feel lost.

I won't be gone completely, things played out differently than I ever imagined they would ... There were raises, schedule changes, new tasks and assignments. What it all means is I will be leaving but not completely. Things have been arranged to allow me to work only weekends and still make all my bills. So I'll still drop in and I'm sure I'll still have some stories but not as many or about the same things.

I was cleaning up my desk, talking to the gal I'm going to be handing it over to (since i have an ergo desk and keys to the desk which is rare, I have the choice to pass it along to somebody else who can stake a cla...

Has this ever happened to you?

I had a custy yesterday who came in, a really old guy. He marched up to my desk, dropped the phone, and told me how badly I treat senior citizens. ๐Ÿคจ So anyway, he can't do anything with the phone, and he thinks Alltel is discriminating against old people. So I turn the phone on......voila! It worked. Then he thanked me ๐Ÿ˜ฒ and told me if the phone didn't work, he was gonna come back and spank me ๐Ÿ˜ณ Yeah, so anyway that was way creepy!
