can we get some crazy/stupid customer stories today?

It always makes me feel better knowing im not the only one who has to deal with this kind of stuff. Ill start us off with an encounter i had a few minutes ago with an older gentleman looking at our att phones. ( we sell sprint att and verizon)

m: hello, did you have any questions today sir?

c nope, just looking around, but do you have any blackberries other than this? as he is pointing at the torch.

m no, thats the only one we have.

c Well where does the information go?

Wrong Care Transfers

How many times a day do you get a buzz on your line and its "______, from customer care and I have a customer who wants to upgrade/ add a line/ buy an accessory" and then when you get the customer on the phone its "Um... No! I wanted to pay my bill."


Dear customer care reps,
Im sick of taking your garbage calls. Just because you dont want to take the sh**ty call doesn't mean you can pass it on to telesales. Do you not realize that we work off of conversion rates?
And yes I realize its not ALL care reps that do this, but for you lazy bas***ds that do, do your fu**ing job, Im not your mom and Im not going to clean up your mess.

Customers who are IVR Retarded

Im sure you have all recieved that customer on your line...
"What this is sales I wanted care!"

Listen to the prompts people, quit button mashing, calm down and listen actively. Not that hard... and for spanish speaking customers it very clearly states "Para espanol marke el numero dos"

IVR's are there for a reson to get you to the correct dept! jeezzzzzz

FMLA vs. FML

Got a written notice because I've had 7 Unscheduled Absences so far this year.
Between getting sick with the flu, car troubles, and dealing with my 74 year old mom, yeah it's been rough.

What's not fair is how someone who is on FMLA can work whenever they want, they could work 1 day a week out of 5, or not show up for a straight 2 weeks, or get up a couple hours into the day and just go home, and claim it on their "illness", like someone else I work with, and NOTHING gets said to them about it!
They just get patted on the back and get told to "come back whenever".


*Sigh* ... FML. ๐Ÿคจ

Just had the STUPIDEST meeting ever

So yeah.. Just had a 45 minute telephone meeting about "Hold Times"

First meeting I've been to about this since I've been hired here about 2 years ago. Why didn't this ever come up before? ๐Ÿคจ

Basically, the gist of the meeting was this:
They want us to cut down on our hold times and hold occurences.
However, sometimes there's times (alot of times) where we have to have the person on hold for a while.

They want us to check back with the person every 20-45 seconds, but every time we put them BACK on hold after checking back, it counts as ANOTHER hold occurence, and they don't want us having X-amount of hold occurences each month.

And if we have to transfer someone to another line, we can't put them on hold beforehand (WHIC...

Getting "Quality'd" and having them capture you writing on Phonescoop.

So I sit down with my boss today, and have my weekly coaching session. He goes over a bunch of stuff, and then we proceed to listen to a call I got Qualitied/scored on yesterday.

I got a score of 96.67 out of 100 which is pretty good, but he wasn't happy because it caught me typing up a post here on good ol' phonescoop.

He then asked me what it was, and I gave him a general idea. He also made a comment that he is surprised that this site isn't blocked. ๐Ÿ˜•


Hopefully he doesn't mention it to the I.T. guys. ๐Ÿ˜ฒ ๐Ÿ‘€

AT&T Call Center Reps please read

Please be aware (at least in the Carolinas mkt) that we do not carry modems, routers, or the microcell. Please refer customers to COR stores only. This issue comes up several times a week.

The worst thing THEY can say/do

Whats the one thing that a customer can say/do that automatically makes you pray terrible things happen to them? Everybody has to have something like this.

Mine is when people ask me to speak up or repeat myself

When I ask for the phone number and they sigh like I'm asking them to do something so difficult and tedious.

US Cellular and Joplin, MO

I just want to say how great I think it is that US Cellular is providing a cellular solution for the people hit by this tragedy. They are providing charging stations for customers and non-customers alike at no charge. They are swapping out batteries for their customers for free (already a service provided by them.) They are also providing a hotspot for everyone to use to stay connected. What other cell phone carrier is going to such great lengths to make sure these people are taken care of? None that I know of. US Cellular believes in something better! ๐Ÿ˜
