ATTN Pollution Reps

If a fraud notice pops up on a walk in phone you are attaching to a new line and you ignore it and program the phone anyway it wont work... when that phone doesnt work its your problem to fix... dont immediatly send them over to a corporate store... you want the acts you have to deal with the concequences of your shady deals... also... if you do not have a spanish speaking rep available do not attempt to help them with what you think they are asking for and then when you screw that up send them here... send them here to begin with or shovel your own sh*t...

This phone is BRAND NEW!

*Slams the phone on my desk.

"This phone is brand new! Why won't it work?"

(the battery is swollen, the water damage indicator is saturated, and the screen has a lake in it)

Ok. I believe you (sure). I can tell you definitively, however, that this phone has been submersed.

You have insurance on the phone, sir. I recommend you call the insurance company and request a new phone.

Cust talkin trash in another language

Ok, so I speak english. Normal right??

Well we had this spanish speaking "lady" come in and in perfect english tell us her phone isn't working. First thing I do is pop the battery and check the indicator for water damage.. Red as an apple. The phone was purchased 2 wks ago.

I pull up her account, verify everything and tell her she has insurance and I can put her on the phone with the insur. co. She's on the phone a few minutes (talking spanish) and another rep came over (who speaks spanish but is white). She covertly listens to the lady's side of the conversation and whispers in my ear that she's telling the insur. rep that I said the deduc. would be waived because the phone was damaged in the store.

Well, what would you guys/g...

This is kinda new...

I was just "helping" and couple... the man had a newer phone and the woman had an older one. hers wasn't working and they wanted to see if they could get it fixed... (first of all i'm not tech or anything, so i can't fix it) so i check her upgrade date and she's been eligible to upgrade for almost two years, but he upgraded a few months ago so they were still under contract for about the next two years, so i didn't think renewing would be an issue...

I tell them that they can upgrade her phone and renew the plan for another two years... So the man says "no, i just upgraded everything a few months ago"... so I tell him that, yes, he upgraded his phone and renewed for two more years, but her phone hadn't been upgraded and it can be at any...

I may be a pervert, but anyone has to appreciate it. A very good looking woman came into the store wearing a tanktop without...any support... to add to it it is pouring rain outside...HOTT!!!

You only pay for what you use

Just got berated for a while because of the typical "I killed my phone, but it's YOUR fault and YOU need to give me a new one for FREE" situation. No ins...as usual...because they're too cheap to pay for it. I tell the guy his options of full retail or finding a used phone.

He counters with the usual "My F***ING bill is SO high" line. I have his account up. They have the 700 min family plan but talk about 2000 mins per month.

I tell him I'd be happpy to get him on a price plan that would ultimately save him several hundred dollars per month. He says I'm just trying to rip him off and he's not going to have an extra $40 added to his plan (forgetting that his current bills are at least and extra $400-$500 in OVERAGE plus texting...

Amazing

The RAZR is still fanatically popular, I really don't get it. (And I'm talking the V3, oldschool phone.)

Crappy Camera

No MP3 player

No Expandable Memory

Low Data Speed

Literally the only remarkable thing about it is the name and the fact that it's thin (which isn't even that unique anymore, Samsung has phones out that are ultra-thin too that we carry.)

I just spent 20 minutes speaking with a woman who was adamant about getting a RAZR (again, just the V3) despite the fact that she was paying $80 more than she would have paid for a phone by Samsung that was smaller, had a better camera, and had the MP3 player in it (a free phone) because she 'really wanted the RAZR.)

I didn't get it when it was new, I still don't get it.

Stop writing checks!

For f***'s sake...

Don't you have a debit card? We process checks electronically, so it's the exact same result, but it takes 1/3rd of the time!

AND

WHY do you insist on filling out the rest of the check when I TELL you that the check will be filled electronically, so you don't have to write it out?

"Sorry, it's habit" is NOT a good reason to spend the next 5 minutes attaching your John Hancock to a piece of paper that I'm just going to hand right back to you.

What the hell is with people today?!? I get here at 9 to do operational items and we don't open till 10. I've had 2 different older gentleman jost waltz right in to my store and when I tell them I'm not open yet they just start rambling on about their problem they have. Its like...HELLO?!? the open sign isn't on, half our lights are shut off, and it clearly says on my door that I don't open till 10 now beat it!

WOW whats the point

just had a cust that txt would not send so I talk to the tech and he says there is a new Flash that fixes this with the Razr so we do it and test a txt it goes fine. the cust leaves and we close the tech area

10 min go by and cust is back say its doing it again I call tech and he says that it worked thus it may be something else call Tower tech so I call and they say everything is good so I'm like weird why will they not go? I look at the contacts and the cust had ALL his numbers in his phone book with *67 before them I test with my phone using the number block and it fails and says invalid number because it will not let him use the calling feature in a text.

I apparently have no reason to be here

A guy just came up to my kiosk. He was looking for phones for his elderly parents. He said they need big screens, big buttons and no frills. I suggested the LG CU400. I'm aware it has some frills, but nothing too extravagant. He then notices the SYNC and asks why I wouldn't suggest that phone, which is currently cheaper than the CU400 in my location (but not by much). I explained that it is completely the opposite of "no frills" and all the buttons and controls may be confusing to the elderly. He then says "But it's cheaper." I am quite aware it's $10 cheaper, but I was actually suggesting a phone that fit the description he gave me. Anyway, he knows my products and apparently my job better than me, so who am I to argue?

old rant, new customer

customer comes in with a phone that won't charge. the port's corroded. Not TOO much, but so happened that our tech was around, and was able to affirm that. customer was livid. "never been wet, ridiculous, blah blah." it's JUST over the 30 day period, so he's jacked. he's got insurance. Stupid.

Any other crazy-day stories?
