People...

6 different people have called today requesting ESN changes over the phone. The problem is, none of them could get me a valid ESN. I described exactly what to look for and they claimed they were reading it, but they were giving incorrect lengths, unused letters, etc.

We don't charge for an ESN change. I told all of them this fact. One guy kept saying he wasn't going to come in to the store because we charge for doing them in store. I assured him that my store does not. He still tried to argue with me.

LAZY!!!!

Another lady just came in complaining that she has a $200 bill because her freak little loser of a son subscribed to almost all of those stupid premium txt services on TV. She screamed at me about wanting credits. ...

Customer Care Observation

Ive noticed something about customer care... the most helpful members have a southern accent... at least thats the way it is with sprint... im curious about you other carriers

and ive noticed the absolute best are the grizzled sounding guys that are just like "hell yeah i can help you with that sh*t" sounding like billy bob thorton from Slingblade...

God i love those guys...

Worse than the college

So our parking lot is too small for all the people running around here but in the past they have had us all park in this dirt lot next to the building... well the people who actually OWN the lot have decided they don't care for that (seems they want to use the property themselves, the bastards) and have evicted our cars... so now it's worse than trying to park at the college around here... took me two trips around the lot to find a space to park. Jeeze.

Big Boss Lady

Is breathing over my shoulder.

Are you sending out mailers? How many aircards are you going to send today? How much sand is there in my not-so-happy place? What's the price of tea in China?

I wonder... (kinda long)

I just called into Cingular a little while ago about my brother's cell phone bill. He has not lived at home for about 6-7 years and he just recently moved in with his fiancee (he was living with my grandpa)

All his mail goes to her house except the cell phone bill, which still comes home. A few years ago, he activated a line onto his acct for his ex, which is understandble because they had been together over 2 years already.

Well they broke up not quite a year ago, but he was supposed to turn her line off or get it changed into her name so he wouldnt be paying the bill anymore and that was about 5 months ago he was supposed to do this. HE IS STILL PAYING FOR THE EX'S CELL PHONE BILL!!!!!

So, being the protective sister I am, I calle...

Need Help Quick!!

I have a customer in front of me with a Nokia/Pantech 6315. He claims that whenever the battery meter drops down a notch, the phone beeps 4 times at him. Is there any way to turn this off if this is even a legitimate claim? I can't duplicate the problem in the store and the ERI alert sounds are all turned off. Thanks in advance!!

Unlocking a phone to work w/T-Mobile

Does anyone know a way to get an unlock code without going through Customer Care? I just don't want to go through the hassle, and I promise this isn't a dig against Customer Care, but I don't want to have to walk someone through the process. If there's anyone who knows of a website, it's you guys.... plus, I bought it off eBay, so who knows if it's been stolen...

It a Nokia 6102i.

I don't get it...

I saw a guy walking yesterday, he was holding a phone in one hand, and holding his headset (wired) up to his ear with his other hand. If you're going to have to hold your headset, wouldn't it be easier to just hold your phone up to your ear in the first place? I was dumbfounded.

CPNI and You

There was some question regarding the CPNI regulations I referenced in the post about our wonderful customers and the various excuses they feel the need to feed us on a regular basis.

CPNI (Customer Proprietary Network Information) has been discussed at length by the FCC, and each wireless carrier must comply with the FCC regulations surrounding it. It includes any and all information that may be found on a customer's account, covering but not limited to the calls that are placed by the customer and when they were placed.

Many carriers, as a result of this, have strict regulations with regards to customer privacy, up to and including the requirement that unbilled usage not be discussed outside of sheer minute usage.

The informa...

Stupid Radio Shack Agents!

Disclaimer: Not all Radio Shack agents are bad. Some are very knowledgeable and helpful. This is about two specific agents I have spoken with over the last several weeks.

P.S. I am a prepaid representative.

The first agent called in because he had just activated a prepaid phone for a customer, but it was not working. We have been having a lot of delays in activation over the last few weeks so this was no surprise. We have been told that it may take between 30 minutes and 24 hours. When I let the agent know, he started complaining about how our company sucks and how this stuff always happens. Then, he turned to the customer and said "You really should've gone with the other company. These guys are incompetent and don't know what the hel...

Opening a New Kiosk

Good afternoon all,

I am getting ready to move my inline store to a kiosk in our mall. I have seen countless posts here about why employees do not like their kiosk but I would like to hear from those who have added a feature, option or fixture to a kiosk that helped general comfort or productivity.

I have run kiosks in the past but wanted to here from folks with recent experience. While I am sure those who would reply like this will ignore my comment I will ask anyway.

Constructive responses only please.

Thanks in advance!

interesting...

I had a guy give me a Mexican ID, US Social Security card, and 3 utility bills with his name and address on them.

He said he wanted a contract phone. OK. I run the app. Credit needs to see some proof of ID. OK. No problem. I can send it, but at this point, I assume this guy has done this before. He came in way too prepared. Of course, $400 deposit (the new highest for VZW).

I asked how long he had the bills in his name and he said 2 months. I explained that they would need more history (usually around 18 months if I remember correctly, or less may at least lower the deposit). I offer the prepaid services and he declines. He's getting very upset. As I talk to him, I find out that someone at a neighboring store told him i...

STOP CALLING

đŸ‘ŋ Can someone please tell me why everyone thinks its ok to call in at 1:59 am and then complain because they have to wait a long time. HELLO, there's 6 of us, tops, on the phone at this hour, that's why! And why are people given advanced tech support's direct number anyway? Why does someone need to know that? THEY DON'T ☚ī¸

Holiday weekends...

...are pretty much pointless. My day so far:

3 rednecks asking me to put $5.00 on their prepay accounts because that's all the money they have and they "gots ta make" phone calls. Sorry guys, minimum is $15.00. No...Walmart doesn't sell $5.00 cards either.

A mom slams down a charger on the desk complaining that it doesn't work and it's only a month old. The whole tip is broken off. She wants a new one under warranty. I didn't even sell her the phone in the first place and I'm an agent. I couldn't do it even if it was legit. I ask to see the phone and sure enough, the tip of the charger is stuck in the bottom of the phone. What's worse, it's stuck upside down and the whole port is broken out. Guess what? No insurance. She'...
