This is my fault how?

I just got chewed out (big time) because we don't have a specific accessory in stock.

I still do not understand how this is my fault...

There was a guy who told me that since we didn't stock it I could just pay for it out of my pocket from the manufacturer and have it sent to him (as opposed to him going to the manufacturer's site himself.)

I hate people.

Does anyone know if USCC is still testing the LG 8600? I heard that we weren't going to get it.

I wonder...

I use phonescoop.com as a resource when I have customers who are debating between a few handsets. I encourage them to read the user reviews, and make sure to relay that I used phonescoop when trying to determine which handset I should buy.

I always think, in the back of my head, "What if Mr./Mrs. customer decides to read the forums? What if they discover shop talk?!".

Normally, I only get involved enough with the GOOD customers to recommend phonescoop in the first place, but there are SO MANY stupid people that I wish knew just how stupid they were. Maybe I should start referring them directly to the forums...

Do you guys use this site as a resource, too? And if so, have you ever posted about a custie and had it come back to bite yo...

Ungrateful customers!!!

Have you ever bent over backwards for a customer and blow up in your face? Yesterday I wrote about spending my Saturday night (5- 9pm) trying to solve a customer issue w/ Sprint. Well everything was done... or so I thought.... Not only does the guy call me on my cell phone asking questions ( I was using my cellphone to help him program the phones, I was at home 👿 ), he visited my store 2 times this week ( It's Wednesday) talking about deals other carriers are going to offer him. WTH? Not only did I waste a perfect evening with you but I might not even get paid (Long story) 😈

*REAL* Cingular Customer Service/Sales/Tech

I saw a commercial the other day for unlimited talk and unlimited texting. Now, I'm not dumb or not up on my research, but my call center has this TERRIBLE habit of not rolling stuff out to us until the DAY of the change, and I for one, am sick of it. I wasn't aware we had anything involving unlimited talk unless they're finally going to promote the crap out of Unity plans and the mobile-to-mobile, mobile-to-ATT landline unlimited calling. Does any one who actually works directly for the company have any information on what's being/going to be offered so I have at least a little heads up??? I am tired of the ads being more current than we are, and falsely advertising ("4.99 unlimited text" ring a bell?)

Did Alaska secede?

I'm so amazed at how many CC Reps call in and tell me the customer is travelling to Alaska or Hawaii and need int'l features. You would not believe how many calls I receive like this.

CC Rep: I couldn't find any rates for them to call Alaska.
Me: It's part of the Nat'l Plan, they do not get int'l LD charges.
CC Rep: So they don't need any Int'l features?
Me: It is part of the Nat'l Plan, they do not need int'l features.

I understand them not knowing that Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands not being covered (even though they should be familiar with the nat'l coverage), but Alaska and Hawaii? Come on.

Output only device!

Y'all know what that is, right? That is a person who doesn't listen to what you say, but keeps saying either the same thing over and over again. Or they make up new problems instead of applying the solutions you have already given them.

Customer is having a problem with a data application on his phone. Yes, the application has been having problems, but that isn't the issue this time. He has a phone, that only has the capability to partially work on the data side. And Customer is trying to do a pretty complex data procedure.

Me: The problem is that phone can't handle the data load

Cust: I just bought the phone. It's brand new.

Me: New doesn't have anything to do with it. This model is not capable of heavy data use.

C...

Well aren't you just an adorable bundle of need?

We must go through this on a weekly basis but it was a caller that I just finished dealing with and it makes me CRAZY when people do this.

She called in and gave ma a fifteen minute sob story about how the free headset she got with her new phone wasn't comfortable (basically she just didn't like it.) and how it wasn't what she wanted... She bought the bloody thing in a Cosco center anyways, but whatever.

She wanted something free, like waived shipping or a free headset or something 'since the store said they'd do an exchange but they didn't have any in stock.' and the store sent them to us.

I wish the store would realize that our hands are literally tied... I Can Not Change ANYTHING... not the prices, not the shipping, not the deliv...

When do we give up on a method that clearly isn't working?

So we're having trouble with a piece of software (Big Surprise!) and the solution is, as usual, we have to log out and log in the way they think we should (which never works) instead of the way that I have been doing it these last three months (which has a success rate of nearly 95%)

They literally sat here and watched me do it there way and sit and wait and wait and wait (five minutes of waiting) for it to do what it was supposed to with no avail. They wandered off and I did it my way and now it works fine.

So when do you stop doing it that way and start doing it the way that works? Oh wait, I forgot where I work.

Welcome to the Eighth Circle Kiddies, it doesn't get much deeper.

Great Quotes from a hard days work

Wow it's another day in telesales and as always some people seem to just love calling in and telling me silly things, lots of shinfo.

Me= is there anywhere you travel you'd like me to check coverage for?
C= Yeah
Me=And where would you like me to check?
C= What?
Me= Would you like me to check coverage anywhere you might travel with the phone?
C= How much does that cost?
Me= Nothing, it's a coverage check, we have excellent nationwide coverage we just always like to see if there's anywhere you'd like us to check, you know anywhere you may travel with the phone.
C= What do you mean by travel?
Me= well if you go somewhere and you bring your phone for example I have family in Chicago so I travel there so I need to know they have great ...

Is there anything else I can help you with?

It never fails. Everytime I ask the customer at the end of the call they immediately say "NO, that's all"
So I close the call, " Thank you for calling blah blah blah......"

Customer: Oh wait, so you said ..... blah blah blah.

Me: that's right, as I mentioned before .... blah blah blabbity blah. Ok?

cust: OK I got it.

Me: anything else?

Cust: No, thank you for your help

Me: " Alright, once again thank you for calling blah blah blah......"

Cust: Oh wait one more question!

Me: Eye balling that sweet "Release button" 👀

Confession... I....... am a racist

Because I refused to help a woman who interrupted me EVERY time I tried to speak, because I completely addressed her issue, and wouldnt let her just rant about the intital problem. Because I wouldnt let her call my other store employees racist. And, because I threw her and her man out of the store for CALLING me a racist.

All because she had vision (for nearly a year, and WAS USING IT MONTHLY) and said she never wanted it.
I was trying to explain to her that if she doesnt want it, fine, I will take it off (which I still did, even AFTER we had security escort them out), but I wouldnt recommend taking it off because theyre using it.

On the other hand, the other guy we had escorted out today didnt go quietly and had to be put in handc...

Dummy Phones

Whats with people stealing my dummy phones!! 👿

I hope they feel like complete asses when they attempt to get them activated! Its can be difficult enough to sell some phones as it is, but without a dummy phone to draw interest, its nigh impossible!!!!

Is this common every where or is it just my location?

People watching

I work in a downtown area and I love to people watch. I see alot of strange things that mall employees normally wouldn't see.

I've seen dogs that are being walked attack each other.

I've seen a guy wipe out on his motorcycle.

Those are two of the main incidents that stick in my head.

Anyone else work in a downtown area? What have you seen?
