Annoyed with co-workers (rant)

Why is it that I am supposed to sit here and do my job and not move, yet they are in the breakroom laughing it up? I get up to smoke a cig and you'd think it was the worst crime on earth. My boss has said something to me on a couple of occasions about not picking up their customers when there is a line, and I finally told her that I shouldn't have to pick up their slack because they aren't doing their jobs! We've been slow today, but there is no reason a line should form because the are in the back talking or I should have to take their customers because of the same reason! I can literally hear them from where I sit. Some of them have not taken a single customer yet and aren't even in uniform! I have a splitting headache and I need to ...

MizzSprint....

Here's to hoping you didn't take anything of what I said seriously enough. Nothing said to you was truthfully intended. I've been very active today, both in here with you, and in the lounge with tards who know what Metal is. Anyways, tis' all in good fun (at least on my side, it was plenty of fun)

The only thing we proved today is that neither of us have anything worthwhile, or meaningful to do at all.

It's been fun, but I think I am out of gas on this subject (unless you with to inspire me more.... JOKING!!! DON'T KILL ME.)

I wish now to gripe about other things.

How come

People on this forum seem to think they know everything? I'm tired of people saying things about others bashing them in some sort. One guy on this forum had the nerve to say "Some store reps don't understand anything more than 3 syllables." Like serious what makes u better than anyone else? Because we all work in the same industry as u you're not better than the next guy because your pay is a little better. It's awful that people get over the net and become brave souls, I'm sure you wouldn't go into a store and say that to a reps face. Don't judge me or anybody else. Everyone that works in my store has a Bachelors or working on it so please don't judge me based upon my work title it's bad enough retail reps are judged by the customers alone...

Ever notice this with your office mates ( if you work in a call center)

Ok call center newbies, ( or newly hired guys) ever noticed how when they're new on the floor they are all like, stary eyed and exited about taking calls. they are also the ones always the ones always volunteering to o overtimes.
and they alsohave have the best stats (collections and csat.. were in finance)

after a few months ( or weeks) the light in the're eyes just fade off and you can hear them complaining and ranting on anything. its like, the place just sucked the joy out their lives..

I myself dont really have that much of a problem tolerating life here, maybe because i've been here a while.. but i still get that masochistic tendency of stabbing my ears w/ pencils to drown out the cust's fits and tantrums on anything they think...

Policies and my worthless job (kinda long)

So this customer just came in with his broken razr saying he needs to upgrade. So i begin to pull up his account and it is our policy (att's policy) to type in the expiration date of a state issued photo id to get into the account. So when i ask him for his id i quickly notice that the account is not in his name and i cant do it. So i explain what would need to be done to do the upgrade and he goes irate. I tell him i wont do the upgrade until he is added onto the account so i don't get fired from my job. He yells at me telling me that this isn't a job and then stormed off yelling how att sucks through the mall. I hate stupid people. ๐Ÿ™„

worth it or too much hassle?

just a poll about an incapable potential customer....

comes into the store, asks about PDA's, then immediately asks about a 3rd party app, remote desktop, and it's compatibility with VZW phones. I throw a few terms into Google, tell him that it's compatible with any wm5 or wm6 phone on Verizon. Here's the fun stretch: he had just cancelled a Sprint account within the 30 days b/c "their WM phones weren't compatible with remote desktop." I clicked into a forum from the search results with LOTS of sprint phones that were compatible, and Verizon phones too. The real annoying thing was the guy was expecting us to walk him through step by step prior to getting a phone. you shoulda seen the stupid look on his face when I told him that all ...

If it'sall the same.... (rant)

So to preface, I'm a sales rep at a vzw corporate location. We have both sales and customer service representatives on site. At other stores, I always notice that sales opportunities go to the sales reps, and so on and so forth. At my store, it's purely first come first serve with no separation.
This may not sound so bad, until I spend a whole day working out technical issues and billing questions while trying to push these customers towards add ons and air cards, while customer service reps are gladly taking the three and four line family shares that come through the door.
Don't get me wrong, I work my butt off and I usually nail my quota, but it just seems to be backwards to me. In my store, the CSRs have a monthly activations quota of ...

Alright, I give. I gotta ask...

I keep reading those news briefs about AWS this, and AWS that. WHAT IS IT? I understand it's some sort of network topology, but with everything that's already in development (such as WiMax, LTE, etc.) and all the other types that's already out (CDMA, GSM, PCS, etc.) what's the point? I can't find it in Wikipedia, so somebody please help me out.

Also, if your carrier is going to use the technology, what does it mean for you?

One more thing-- I remember reading that some small carrier was coming out with "CDMA's first tri-mode phone." Did that mean ever since analog was retired? I think things went over my head somehow. Damn. ๐Ÿคจ

Thanks in advance.

Best company to work for?

Just curious.. thinking about moving and the provider I work for is not where I am thinking about moving to. What are the pros & cons of who you work for and what company is it (obviously if you can't tell me the company you work for, the pros and cons make no difference in my search). Thanks! ๐Ÿ˜

looking for new phone/contract deals in San Francisco Bay Area

My contract with Cingular/At&T is done and I am looking for a new phone and contract. I live in the East Bay (Berkeley) and was looking for independent service providers that can give me a deal on a Sony Ericsson W610.

I found a company that can get me one free, but that would mean switching to T-Mobil, which I am considering. But I love "rollover" minutes and I'm hesitant to switch.

Is there anybody out there that can get me the same deal or better, a free W610 with new At&T contract, or point me in the right direction? I would also like to do a family plan of some kind by adding my girlfriend and getting her a free phone as well.

Let's get this out of the way.... *long*

There's usually a monthly "Store rep vs. Customer Service" post in here. Let's get it over with. I'll start off both sides with the preliminary punches, and cheap shots. Also, if you take ANY of this seriously... well... then it will speak volumes about your sense of humor.

Customer Service Reps = Filled with tards who can barely manage to turn doorknobs correctly (have you ever seen a Call Center with true door knobs? There's a reason there isn't any to be found...) Typically noted for sending customers to stores with false promises, exaggerated claims, free items, and to just plain get the customer off the line. Other fallacies are extended periods of useless hold with no information when they return, not listening to anything you say...

do they give jobs to anyone at sprint stores?

I work for Sprint customer service/tech support. I have been here for 2 years, and let me tell you, these reps at the sprint stores need to stop trying to just sell a customer a phone and make a sale and actually properly inform a customer of things. Here are a few things you all at the stores, both corp stores and third party.
1. DO NOT tell the customer the activation fee applies, but if u call customer service they can waive it for you. this fee is valid. if your gonna waive it for them, then do it!
2. DO NOT convince a customer to take a new line of service just because they are not eligible for a rebate and then activate it on another line to get the sale. we then deal with customers saying "i don't have a third line. i bought a new...

OK i hate when cust serv reps come in the store!!!!

I dont want to offend anyone but the customer service reps here in my area for sprint are just know it alls!!! This one rep came in right now wanting to add her name on someone else account so she can add the employee discount, well of course you cant do that you would first need to make a transfer of liability. well she tried to tell me that she could since she knew the password....well No here at the store you need to be authorized on the account to make any changes. even if some one comes in and knows all the info on the account but they are not authorized they cant make changes. AAAAAAAhhhhhhhh it just bugs me that they think they can tell us how to do our jobs!! I just had to get that out of my system!
