Verizon Communications

Does anyone know if VZW employees are eligible for a discount on VZ Communications services like Fios and and TV?

me- no sir, I don't carry the red vu I do have it in black however.

customer- well I came to see if you had a red one their outuv' em online.

me- well I haven't even seen a red one we've only ever carried them in black.

customer- well I'm going gonna head uptown to a store up there and get one there then.

me- which store?

customer- the one on 111 abc st.

me- Oh well they won't have one there.

customer- What!?! You got some kinda mind thing goin on or somethin? How would you know!?

me- Well ya see, I work for the same company as that store and we only carry that phone in black. plus we have a computer system where I can see other stores inventory. No, they don't carry tha...

Uhhhh..

so this woman came in to set up a prepaid for her son and he had a couple of his friends with him, one of whom was mentally handicapped.

He was carrying around a picture of wonder woman that he named "kari" I'm guessing from the way the mother and he were talking it was his girlfriend.

He was nice and polite and just kind of wandering around. I was on the phone with customer service after a 15 minute wait. ๐Ÿ™„

he walks over to my phone and with the picture of "Kari" pushes down on the hook, hanging up my call in the middle of the activation ๐Ÿ˜ณ

I didn't want to be rude so I just kind of laughed and said "well, I hope they call back"

luckily they did... what would you do in that type of situation. would you stop him from...

Something BAD always happens at this store the days I'm not here.

Yep. Seems like stuff always happens when I'm not here. Either the glass on my phone display case gets cracked badly (and it is now "spiderwebbing" and my company has yet to replace it), or the drawer to the display case gets torn off its hinges, or somebody thinks its funny to take one of the phone boxes and hole-punch my name and my co-worker's name (who also wasn't here the same days as me) into it and leave all the round punch-outs strewn all about the floor...

The guy who was here yesterday left me a cute little note saying "Some kids stole all the dummy phones"... Yep, all of our "good" dummy phones, 8 of them, are now gone. 2 Samsung Beholds, 2 Gravity's, 2 Blackberry Pearl Flips, a Sidekick 08 and a G1.

Dude, seriously, like WTF?!?!

Ok so the other day I wasn't here and 8 of our dummy phones were stolen.

So I tell my boss about it over the phone first thing the very next day.

Apparently he didn't believe me and had to come in and see that yes indeed they were stolen. And then he said we need to get them replaced as soon as possible, and said "Don't worry,i'll take care of it."

And now a few days later here I am still waiting on the dummy phones and here he is Text messaging me saying that "You better not have any dummy phones missing the next time I or the owner of the company comes in to check your store out or you're in serious trouble!!"

CC Prompts

Stupid menu prompts always misroute me to the wrong department! Doesn't matter where I'm trying to get to! I was just trying to get transfered through to cust care for text messaging ts and I get transfered receivable management! WTF!? "Press 1 for tech support" my a$$!

A question for the ladies...

Does anyone else have a problem with people thinking you don't know what you're talking about because you're a girl?

A guy just came in whining about how he wanted to upgrade but he didn't want to pay for it. He's a month away from eligibility and he wants us to price match Best Buy's price on the rumor plus waive his upgrade fees.
I greeted him and started to show him the phone. He cut me off and started asking my male coworker questions. My coworker is now doing the upgrade and that's really annoying to me.

Plus, these people that come in whining about how awful our customer service is because we won't give them everything for free? That REALLY gets on my nerves.

Soooo, I'm ****ing sick of VZW blocking myxer.com, does anyone know of another site, verizon hasn't blocked yet? or atleast where I can get the ESPN alert tone so I can email it to my BlackBerry

Not supposed to be here (kinda long)

Today is my day off and yesterday was really rough here at work. At 9 a.m. sharp I receive a phone call and to make a long story short I pretty much have to come into work on my day off from 9-6. It wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for this customer

Last night a customer and his mother come in to send his phone into repair. It's freezing up and blah blah blah. So I give him one of our really nice loaners. Same brand just a little bit older. First his mom calls in after they get home to tell me he can't figure out how to get the T9 on. so I tell them then they call in again saying it wont stay on and he can't get it to say "me" instead of "of" and he's pi$$ed because he has to have a phone with T9 that stays on. ๐Ÿ™„ (I'm sure it's a b...

No Joke, was helping a customer with an order and I had to place her on hold for a couple of minutes. When I came back to the line...she says "I need to call you back...I do autopsies and I have a body."
I thought is was a little funny...and wanted to share.

Violent customers

M = Me
VCC = Violent crazy customer

Quick backstory; we have a type of corporate account here that requires us to fax a form to a department to get a autorization # and then we refax it to activations. Obviously this can only be done during week days and those customers are aware of that. What we usually do is do the invoice, program the phone and process it through the system the next business day.

My new rep comes to ask me for help because he doesn't know how to process these types of account.

VCC = You can just bill me for the phones and activate them on Monday
M = Absolutely, we'll just need to fill in the form now so we still have all your information
*Walks to the other counter to get the form*
VCC = You better change yo...

ugh ugh ugh....

So guy comes in with a storm he wants to return... i asked him where he purchased it... he got it online... me being a indirect store i can not return said phone and i explained that to him... "well customer service said i can take it to any store!"

I said any direct store... dude is so rude he grabs his phone off the counter and stomps out like a 2 year old...

Come on! i dont make the rules i just follow them.. its not my fault that customer service cannot see that we are indirect...

Stupidity at it's finest!

I just had a customer spend about 10 minutes trying to dial the refill number on their phone! 10 minutes to dial *XXXX! I told them a good 10 times the number, have walked them through it before multiple times, and so forth! ARRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!! I even entered it on her phone the third time she asked, and told her all she needed to do was hit the call button and follow the prompts... she it the hang up button.

I finally gave up, and just did it for her... bad part is she is about 16, so technology shouldn't be that challenging to her. The future of this country is screwed!

So I just got yelled at by a 60+ yr old man who sounded just like Mr. Herbert from Family Guy! ( The creepy old man that lives next door) The entire time I was trying to to bust in laughing... soo difficult!

Its going to be a wonderful day

Woke up at the exact time i should be leaving my house to get to work and open my store, not a drop of hot water left in my house, dumb freaking canadians on the road driving 20mph slower than the speed limit with their turn signal on and no where for them to turn, the woman at starbucks couldnt seem to grasp the concept of LARGE BLACK COFFEE and i had a pack of vultures out side my door.....do you take home phone payments NO I DONT go play in traffic.

Activation Fee's

What are your best found ways of explaining activation fees?

Because even though I have the ability, I refuse to waive, or credit, activation fees for the reason that I refuse to get discounts, "I pay cash, we make deal?" No. Some people are great at giving me a really hard time and backing me into a corner to the point where the manager has to get involved, at which point it is waived.

How do I shut these people down quick and easy?

OK so I walked down the way to get my morning cup of coffee, and I walked by Best Buy Mobile, and they had a sign standing obnoxiously outside the store saying "AT&T- Blah blah blah, Verizon- Blah blah blah, Tmobile: Samsung Behold - FREE"- I asked the guy inside and he said with new activation on any plan yes it is free. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Now my store which is just a couple hundred feet away gets almost no commission if we sell the Behold for $250 with a $50 mail in rebate.
I'm wondering how they can drop the price like that and still make money, because that's like a $500 phone (I think)

SUCKS!!

When I first started here, I was HED (which is high end devices). it's normal people with high end phones. about a month ago, I got xferred to BMG, which is "business people" (this usually just means they have a discount thru their job) with crappy phones. Anyway, HED today has 30+ minutes between calls because of the game...i am lucky if i have 3 minutes between calls! one more reason to hate the "bidnez" people!! ๐Ÿ˜ˆ
