Great idea T-Mobile... Not!
Pay by the Day? Is this a joke?? I'm embarrassed to call myself a former employee. The people running TMO are just an absolute joke and are running this company straight into the ground.
A Manicure Would be Nice
Nice phones but all I kept looking at was this guys crusty finger tips. In addition to reviewing phones, do you dip your hands in battery acid to from time to time?
But pretty sweet phones though.
Re: Tmobile gonna be sold?
I used to work for T-Mobile from 2000 till 2005 and I can say that I saw this coming. They've always had great marketing and great vision but ALWAYS lacked with their handsets. Also they never made a big deal when they launched new data technologies such as GPRS and EDGE. But when they starting turning into a cell phone provider that seemed to target mostly kids and started focusing less on businesses, then I knew they were heading ...
Re: Farwell T-Mobile
Funny that you left now that T-Mobile is about to start coming out with a slew of new PocketPC phones...

PTT & T-Mobile USA...?
Anyone have any ideas as to what settings I could use to enable PTT on T-Mobile USA. I know it's not supported yet but that's only due to lack of bandwidth.
If I could hack some settings then I could get it to work for me and a few of my friends who also have PTT phones.
Just wondering if anyone has done any research on this...
Thanks

Re: Nokia 6230i sucks
It isn't the phone that sucks but it is your local carrier you moron. PTT is supported by the phone but must be offered by your wireless provider. The same goes for the display format when surfing the web.
Just because you are too cheap to buy the USB cable doesn't make the phone any less crappy but it just means that it is one more thing you get to b*tch about.
And last, why the hell would ...
Re: PTT?
Regardless if T-Mobile supports PTT there should be away to get it to work. I am currently investigating how and what settings I need in order to do this.
The reason T-Mobile doesn't have PTT is because there is not enough available bandwidth. If the phone is capable to do PTT then all you need is the gateway (settings) to connect the phone's PTT service to the network.
If anyone has any ideas on this let me ...

Re: Breaking News about T-Mobile EDGE and pricing!
The EDGE Card that TMO is releasing to replace the GC79 is the GC89. It'll be both WiFi and EDGE capable with the same design as the GC79. I also hear there is a place to plug some type of external antenna to it.
Re: EDGE testing...
T-Mobile is currently planned to launch EDGE nationwide on September 1. That is the date but as always... subject to change.
The Houston Market is already lit up and has been for a few months. I have been getting speeds ranging from 76 kbps to 170 kbps and for the most part have been pleased. If you have EDGE enabled devices then you are already all set.
There is "not" going to be a price difference and T-Mobile ...
Re: Even More New Handsets!?!?!?
The replacement Windows Mobile device will be an HTC device. As of right now it doesn't look like a HP6315 replacement won't be available until late Q4 or Q1 of 2006. We will be picking up the PEBBLE and I think that one will be in around October.
And some not so good news for Nokia lovers... we won't be getting any new handsets this year. T-Mobile is only carrying the Nokia 3220 and 6101 until the ...
Re: Motorola V635
Not sure about the V635 but the RAZR is on the handset roadmap. Probably 3rd quarter or so and it is also being tested using the Blackberry software.
We've given it the nickname, the RAZR Berry.
Re: carrier?
This phone is on the T-Mobile Handset Roadmap and is scheduled to be tentatively released in July/Aug. No plans on PTT until next year as the technology is more dependant upon the device rather than the network. The only real requirement against the network is high speed data and maybe software updates.
Re: FirmWare Version of Nokia 6230
Does anyone know what the latest firmware version is? The version on my 6230 is V04.43
Re: T-MO REPS...... GREAT NEWS!!!!
Where did you hear this from? I heard nothing about this?

Re: NTL enterprise plans?
No they do not. You have to pay additional per line.

Re: US version of 6230 and T-mobile
Ya it is definate. Our Nokia rep was down and she brought the 3220 and a new Nokia flip phone that we will be getting in May/June. Not sure about the V635 but I know that the RAZR is a definate possibility.
Re: US version of 6230 and T-mobile
1st Quarter of this year. The network is ready but we are awaiting delivery of handsets.
Look for the Nokia 3220 end of Feb or early March.
Re: Push-To -Talk
EDGE is coming real soon. The network is and has been EDGE ready for most of 2004 for. Deployment should begin in select markets with a few months.
Re: Roaming agreements
The word from a Director of Engineering in one of the major markets in the US is that T-Mobile is "real close" to finalizing a roaming agreement that will basically allow us to run a paint roller across our coverage maps.
I am waiting for that to happen as I know that will be a big advantage for us.

Re: US version of 6230 and T-mobile
I work for T-Mobile Business and I am using an unlocked 6230. GSM 1900/1800/900 and it is the best phone that I've ever used.
You can go to www.nokiausa.com to get the settings for the MMS and t-zones from there via SMS.
Re: Motorola Razr V3
The word from inside T-Mobile is that the Razr is on the list for upcoming devices. No idea as to what a release date is though...
Re: Has anyone used 6230 with T-Mobile?
Yes I work for T-Mobile in Houston and I have a 6230 and I love it! Refer to my reply to a similar thread regarding the 6230 and t-zones.
Re: 6230 and T-Mobile
Yes the T-Zones work with the 6230 just fine. Go to www.nokiausa.com and go the the Support link at the top of the page. Then open the menu to Phone Support and the Phone Settings.
You just answer a few questions and then the Nokia site sends you an SMS with the settings.
Re: Bluetooth
It was done on purpose and is designed as a security feature for companies.
Re: Does TMobile have high speed data access in its future?
Look for EDGE in the beginning of 2005. It's not hot on the menu right now.

Re: V600 confirmed by T-Mobile
Well like the guys name say...HOT...as in Hot Head. As long as that person keeps talking from the wrong end of his body then the only person looking stupid around here would be him. But tell him to just shut up, wait and see.
Nothing wrong with a little spark in the conversation though. Means that you believe in the company you're with.
And someone emailed me asking me which office in Houston I work in. ...
Re: V600 confirmed by T-Mobile
I can also confirm the launch of the V600 next month. I work in the Houston office and a V600 launch party has been scheduled for June 8th. The V600 will be in circulation shortly after.
Re: some new phones
Early indications from Nokia is that we will carry up but you are looking at early next year. A lot can happen from now and then. T-Mobile could determine that it doesn't meet their specifications and opt to not carry up etc.
But you are looking at the end of the year or early next year at the earliest.
Re: some new phones
Phones to be released:
Nokia 6010
Nokia 3660
Nokia 6800

Motorola V600 (2nd Quarter)
Tentative
Nokia 7200 (in talks)
Nokia 7610 (in talks)

T-Mobile...? Believe peeps!
Yes....T-Mobile will be carrying it...and YES...I mean T-Mobile USA and just as the specs on this site say.
So details to follow later on what T-Mobile USA will handle the GSM 850 frequency and 'who' they will be roaming with.
Re: NICE ANOTHER TMOBILE PHONE
First of all AT&T is not rolling out 3G in a couple of months. They are barely rolling out their spotty EDGE network. Secondly the rest of the world won't be using 2100 mhz as it is up to the gov't do decide who uses what and the US especially no where near that point. WCDMA is more the data tunnel that will work along side GSM as far as the data communications are concerned.
None of ...
Re: Confirmed...V600 will be available to T-mo and Cingular
I work for T-Mobile in Houston and I can confirm that we are getting the V600 sometime here in the 2nd quarter. One of our Executive Directors actually has a T-Mobile V600 and he said that ours will be packaged with a Bluetooth Headset.
Re: Any New Phones in the horizon?
The Handspring Treo 600 is already available but through the Business Channel only. T-Mobile will be carrying the Motorola V600 sometime in the 2nd Quarter.
There are no immediate plans of the Nokia 6230 as T-Mobile has not gone live with their EDGE Network and won't do so until later this year (3rd Quarter perhaps).
You can expect the Nokia 6600, Nokia 3660 as well as new phones from Samsung. Most of which I would ...
Re: At&t or T-Mobile
I don't believe T-Mobile will ever start carrying Panasonic phones but as far as when the V600 is coming out, it will be out sometime in the 2nd Quarter. So not sure if it's April or June but I have a feeling it will be soon since one of the Executive Directors (higher than Regional Directors) has a T-Mobile labeled V600 and Bluetooth Headset in our office.
Re: T-Mobile & V600
All that they could tell me is 2nd Quarter. That could be next month or it could be June.
I do know that we will be carrying it so there are no worries there. We have one of the Executive Directors in our office (who are higher than Regional Directors) who has a T-Mobile Branded V600 and the Bluetooth Headset.
He is who told me we will be carrying it. Obviously I believed him because he ...
Re: T-Mobile & V600
My source is myself. Our Executive Director has a T-Mobile branded V600 and he let me play around with it. We've also seen him walking around the office talking on his Bluetooth headset. He was given the phone from the higher ups within the company and he told me that they will pre-pack it with the Bluetooth headset.
It will be a premiere high-tier offering by T-Mobile. This is for informational purposes only as ...
