Could someone please clarify the firmware availability? Is v5.35 (or any v5.x, for that matter) available for a Nokia 6230b with Cingular (US) service? I have v4.43, and I called both Cingular and Nokia to inquire about an upgrade--neither had any idea what I was talking about. Furthermore, assuming a firmware upgrade is available, how would I obtain this now that Cingular has eliminated their cellular service centers? I assume this means I'd have to send the phone somewhere?

Yeah, I tried call Nokia myself and they told me that the phone would need to be in for repair before they would even consider updating the firmware. The rep told me will not just flash just to get the new version because they want you to buy the newer version of the phone when it is available.
I work for Cingular and sent an email to my Nokia rep over a week ago regarding this and he has not even responded.
