Farwell T-Mobile

After years of “thinking about it”, I finally made the switch to Sprint today. Just took my 6700 off charge and was just thinking about all the calls into T-Mobile over the last year.

Q (November 2004): Are you going to get the Treo 650?
A (Representative): Yes, very soon. I think in a few weeks.

One year later.

Q: Do you have ANY PDA’s?
A: You mean a Blackberry?

Get serious. I feel like a ton of bricks has been lifted off my shoulders. Funny, I was never able to get over one bar at my home. I have “full” bars right now with this new service.

I hope this doesn’t sound like a total T-Mobile slam because they were OK for a few years. They just went down hill over the last year. I had to bail. Good luck to the rest of you...

I value other opinions, but sucks does not describe a lot. Could you tell me specifically what their flaw are? Coverage, devices, etc.

FoxTrot, you have a very good point! T-Mo has missed the boat when it comes to offering PDA phones. They (the carriers) make a ton of money from text messaging and data services, but T-Mo don't offer a decent phone for using these features. I hoping the rumored release of the Motorola Q phone will turn this trend around!

Is the Blackberry 7105T not a good PDA unit? I was thinking of getting one.

No, it's a decent phone and great e-mail device, but the PDA functionality is weak. I prefer PalmOS for a PDA.

BB's are handhelds. Treo's are PDA. There is a big difference. 7105T (AKA Optimus Prime look alike) is a joke. It's a 7100T with new buttons.

Hmmmm... what's the difference??

I have both a Palm and a BB and they have pretty much the same applications; calendar, contacts, tasks, notes, web browser and e-mail. They both have Qwerty keyboards. Large color displays...

Perhaps, but BB lacks video features, music features, camera, SD slot, expandability, hundreds of supplemental programs, stylus entry options, etc.
