Re: Wow... Palm is losing
GumpsWaal said: :? Looks like no one really cares. You have Blackberry hauling @$$ with AppWorld, Android hauling @$$ with Market, and iphone obviously ruling with there app store and then you have Palm and it's Pre and Pixi. The only way to make the Palm half decent is to homebrew the thing. So much hope fading. :( Yup. I said it before and I'll say it again. WebOS has no apps! No one really cares! Thank you Gumps for ...
Re: Apps compared to iPhone
blue2kzr2 said: The point is, when you say the iPhone has 100,000 apps available, how many are really USEFUL or productive apps? Exactly. Quality over quantity. Regardless, Android still has a hell of a lot more apps that WebOS does and it will still come out far ahead even if the Pre should ever reach Verizon.
Re: Verizon really aggressive this year
kapwww said: If their plans were as cheap as Tmobile or Sprint, then you could expect the same network coverage you get from both...which is virtually none. When comparing plans to AT&T, they are virtually the same and both have data requirements. I love it when people get their facts straight before posting. Ummm Hello anybody home? I'm a Verizon customer. DUH!
Re: My problems with Sprint...
jhr2112 said: BTW, Sprint no longer has out of country customer service, all USA now.. LOL like it makes a difference
Cellenator said: We get it sprint you have bigger things to worry about! Thanks for the PR we were all holding our breaths. Ha! Yup. Sprint can't afford to pull a Verizon and raise their ETF's. They're bleeding customers as it is and to piss off any new potential customers would be suicide.
Verizon really aggressive this year
Android phones, Crackberry Storm 2. Very interesting things going on. Now all they gotta do is have better pricing plans.
Re: not impressed
Laxgoly said: I just played with one (I work for VZB) and I was not impressed with the hardware. It is much smaller than I would have expected with the current trend in phones. I don't know the exact measurements but it seemed significantly smaller in my hand than the HTC Imagio it was however very responsive but the menus seems confusing to me. It was my first experience with an Android phone and I only ...
Re: Don't want an ETF??
But I guess that would defeat the purpose right? LMAO
Don't want an ETF??
You can always switch to Virgin Mobile or Metro PCS.
You must have Verizon confused with another CDMA carrier who shall remain nameless which has the highest churn in the industry and the worst customer service
Re: Not a smartphone.... By Far!
I like what I'm seeing out of MetroPCS though. Gotta give them credit. At least they have cooler phones than Virgin Mobile who doesn't even have a touchscreen device yet. MetroPCS has two of them now. Expensive yes but at least MetroPCS provides that option for those willing to shell out a few extra bucks. Now with this phone, people can give a touchscreen phone without spending a whopping $349 on the Samsung Finesse.
Re: I gotta know
VZW611LA said: I think its up to 13,000 now. Cnet said 13,000 when they did the video on the Droid. Regardless it's still a hell of a lot more than they have for WebOS. That's for sure. Android is the way to go people. I'm tellin ya. Palm was too late. Nobody cares. Read it and weep.
Another WinMo phone?
Re: Motorola makes a laggy phone? No way.
Azeron said: I don't think that I would have placed a lot of trust in Motorola to make a smartphone in the first place. Silver Q anyone? Gotta agree with you there man. That was a POS indeed. I hope they can fix these issues with a update or something. I was really hoping Moto got it right this time being that Google was overlooking everything.
Re: Motorola makes a laggy phone? No way.
bleu_tropix said: Funny PS found it laggy because all other reviewers said it's been anything but. Maybe a faulty unit? True I was ready to call BS on that. And the issue with the camera too? It's probably a faulty unit
well someone had to say it
Re: Sprint has the best total device line up in the industry
techjunky said: Which carrier is better on devices? Please tell me if im wrong. Not a fan boy. But I havent seen so much buzz from one carrier since cingular in the razr crzr days. True. I give credit where credit is due and yes Sprint has always been innovative when it comes to that. They were first with 1x or "Vision" as they called it at the time. Now they have 4g before everyone else too but in the end ...
Mr. Hesse seems to be in denial
Sprint hasn't seen a quarterly net gain in subscribers in 2 years and they're still bleeding customers and losing money.
The future is Android....
How many times do I have to say that. Nobody cars that the Pre has more features and matches the iPhone OS in functionality. It's on a carrier nobody wants to use, WebOS has no apps and the Pre just isn't cool with that old school keyboard. If you're gonna slap on a physical keyboard on a device, it should be landscape and the Pixi should have never had one to begin with.
It's ugly anyway...

Re: Sprint Samsung Moment
DE 2 Philly said: As said above will have a 800mhz plus the OLED and its a SAMSUNG not a MOTO! lol - thats the most important part Actually no, the most important part of that is Sprint sucks.
Re: So what?
shellis129 said: But to answer your question about "who cares", I do. I live in an area that doesn't have 3g... Then you need to move
Of course there's phones better than the iPhone...
but it's "cool" to have an iPhone. An Android device can come out tomorrow with 128GB built in storage, OLED screen, 1080p video capture, 10 megapixel Carl Ziess lens, HDMI port, 1Ghz processor and guess what? People will still choose the iPhone over it? Why? Because it's "cool" to have.
Re: And yet...
Azeron said: you took time out of your life to type a paragraph against it. Why? Why does it bother you that there are those who desire the iphone despite your opinion of it? I am not saying that the iphone is better than any other phone. I just believe Verizon customers should be able to decide for themselves if they want it WITHOUT being forced to choose AT&T's GSM network. So true and I think those ...

Protege said: ... is the only true contender IMO... :D LMAO yeah ok. WebOS practically has no apps
Re: Bottom line...
Azeron said: AT&T sold 3.2 million iphones in the third quarter (new acts and upgrades). One would hope that Verizon would want to get in on that action. Verizon doesn't need the iPhone. Considering that they're still doing better than AT&T despite not having it is quite impressive. If anybody needs the iPhone right now to save their a$$es, it would be Sprint and that's never gonna happen lmao
Re: Why does this company still exist?
saktrnch said: If there is more I would like to know it. Too bad that Sprint can't afford to buy USCC. That would slingshot Sprint to the front of the pile. Sprint's coverage isn't good where I live, but USCC's is. If fact most everywhere I go except deep canyons, USCC's got the bars. Much as I hate Sprint, it would be best option. But as the employee said, the overlaps and coverage and issues with the DOJ may be of concern. ...
Re: Why does this company still exist?
knoxvegas75 said: simple answer yes you are missing a lot. complicated answer: US Cellular is a privatly owned company that makes a good profit for the family that owns them. The DOJ wouldnt allow a buyout buy VZW or ATT They use CDMA and are merging to LTE (allowing for GSM buyers to wait) THe finacial market for big companies to aquire finacing to purchase a large company like USCC is hard to find. Sprint cant afford it. T-Mobile has ...
As much as people make fun of Verizon for their advertising campaign, they sure accomplished one thing. They got you all talking. I think the Droid will actually do quite well on Verizon. Android is gonna take off. WinMo sucks, people are tired of the Crackberry and nobody cares about the Pre since WebOS is still new and has very limited app support. But Palm is late to the game. The ball is in Google's court right now.
Why does this company still exist?
They should have been bought up by one of the big boys by now. What's holding them afloat or am I just missing something?
Re: MetroPCS does NOT have EVDO data in New York City
erikclarke said: Furthermore, the MetroPCS Corporate Store sales persons, managers and customer service personnel do not comprehend what 3G data is at all. They cannot explain why the speed is limited to 1xRTT and are quite amused/disinterested in finding out why the speed is limited in New York City; then openly wonder why anyone would ever ask? They know. They just don't wanna tell ya  If you want 3G data without a contract, you can get a Tmo Flexplay plan. ...
Azeron said: AT&T's network IS a deal killer. If I could have an Iphone on Verizon...I'd already have one. Question: Where the f*ck do you people live that you're constantly bitching about AT&T's coverage. I have gone to many major cities in this country both by plane and car and never had problems with AT&T. You people must must live in the ...
an Android device on a worthy network. I see bigger things coming from the Android platform now. This is a very good thing. Sprint is a joke and T-Mo's 3G network is pretty much non existant.
Re: AT&T: Blackberry Dakota
ARR22 said: I'll tell you what, smart phone owners "do care about", and that's good mobile broadband coverage, otherwise known as 3G. For an example Sprint has 4 times the 3G coverage then ATT, Verizon has 3 times the 3G coverage. That's pretty sad. The fact of the matter is that smart phone owners don't want to wait 3 minutes to load ESPN mobile. In my opinion if the person you are talking to does not deserve your abiding attention ...
Re: Samsung Code Specs
Those specs can't be correct. MetroPCS will not bother carrying a phone that doesn't have AWS. Where did you obtain this from? The U.S. Cellular version of the phone that failed their testing?
The future is Android
Theres so much more app support for Android I wouldn't even bother with Palm to be honest. Android is definately up and coming. Palm will be left in the dust.

Class action by whom? 16 year old hoodrats who lost their weed dealers cell numbers? Please
