an Android device on a worthy network. I see bigger things coming from the Android platform now. This is a very good thing. Sprint is a joke and T-Mo's 3G network is pretty much non existant.

Well Sprints not bad, I use them for broadband and happen to have no complaints on their service. The Samsung Moment coming out in November for Sprint looks like a very interesting device, faster cpu and real keyboard.

And now its time for AT&T to get their Android phone, rumors are Dell is developing something for them. I hope its true. At least its a start.

If they get one, they won't advertise it enough. the andoid competes with a very similar demographic to the iphone, and that's currently their one-trick pony. With the exclusivity agreement coming to an end, don't expect any other major multi-media device until other carriers are offering the iphone and att needs another pony.

Not really true, AT&T often enough advertises Samsung and other brand phones, as a matter of fact, far more then the iPhone. The vast majority of iPhone commercials and/or ads are handled by Apple. And are far less goofy then those Pre commercials with the ginger chick by Palm.

They don't push a phone as much though (at least around here... philly/ny markets) their commercials are centered around rollover. apple has their iphone commercials, and the global roaming plans focus on smartphones but without definite brands.

ya because verizon has been known to make the OS better on all their devices, no they cripple it with their crap and ruin the OS.

So Verizon / cell makers releasing updates that uncripple phones is evil as well? If they really wanted to "cripple" the OS they wouldn't have "uncrippled" it on an update.

And yes, that ugly menu everyone hates is there for a reason. Too many people complain they can't learn a new phone and hate it because the menus are all different. So by having the same boring 5 tabs menu no one can complain the menus are different.

The ugly UI has nothing to do with Verizon's smartphones.
