Odd Timing
Considering ad campaign for the Motorola Droid, it seems odd they'd release this on the same day and give it a name that includes Droid.
I presume, they'll call it the Eris most of the time, but why open themselves up to the confusion. Maybe the name is the key. Eris was the Goddess of Discord.
from what i heard all there android phones will be call droid with a sub name after it 😲
Funny... I just read the heading and my first though was.. "aww they named the phone love, no, wait, erotic love is eros.. eris is strife! wtf"

not impressed
I just played with one (I work for VZB) and I was not impressed with the hardware. It is much smaller than I would have expected with the current trend in phones. I don't know the exact measurements but it seemed significantly smaller in my hand than the HTC Imagio it was however very responsive but the menus seems confusing to me. It was my first experience with an Android phone and I only got about 5 min with it.

It beats the pants off of the Motorola Droid. Really, I was impressed with the performance of the Eris, especially given how much people seemed to downtalk it when discussing Motorola's offering.
