Cingular and northern NJ

Hi,

I am considering changing carriers I currently have ATTWS, I am thinking about switching to cingular. The "salespeople" tell me that cingulars network is superior.

I also do considerable amount of travel all in the US.

Anyone have any input on how cingular compares to ATTWS as far as coverage and reliability go?

Found V600 in Houston

I was walking around in the Galleria mall the other day, and me being a Cingular salesperson, you have to just check out other people's prices. To my amaze, this Cingular Dealer had the v600's for sale at his store. I asked him where he got them, he wouldn't tell me. I asked him how many he has, he wouldn't tell me. All I got out of him is that he was selling them for 600.00 outright. So, either he got it straight from Motorola or he bought them off ebay and was selling them. I knew they weren't from AT&T yet, because they hadn't even completely announced it out yet. HE wouldn't let me see any of them either. All he would let me see was the box, and it wasn't branded to any one company....

I just thought it was kind of neat seeing it ...

its not fair!!!!

its not fair that AT&T users get to use our network, and we can not use thier network

(where I live (North Jersey) AT&T is much better, yet they get to use both networks, while I am stuck with TMobile's crapy coverage)

Roaming on AT&T towers??

any word, if Cingular will allow us to roam on AT&T before the merger? (like AT&T lets you roam on cingular)

any date yet for the merger? (and in what step of the merger, will they start sharing towers?)

any new roaming agreements (with any company) on the east coast?

National Family Plan Questions

I am looking to possibly switch to Cingular and had a few questions I was hoping someone can help me with.

1) Does the National Family plan allow you to talk anywhere a GSM signal is available?

2) Does this plan allow me to call people in Canada and only be charged minutes not a separate long distance fee?

3) Is there any restrictions to the Mobile to Mobile element i.e. only good in a small area or one the lines have to be in the home area?

4) Does this plan allow the primary and secondary line to call other Cingular Wireless customers and only be charged mobile to mobile minutes?

5) What is the time nights starts on this plan?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

will my phone ever work

I have a nokia 7150i and live in the Nashville, TN area. It operates on a 900/1800/1900 band and it is always on cingular extend. This means I can't access web services or mms, or I assume this is why niether work. Will this phone ever work here, is there anything I can do?

Problem Areas?

Hello!

I am currently a Verizon Wireless customer but my contract is up in May, and I am fed up with rising prices. AT&T Wireless has many more budget friendly plans and I have been thinking about switching providers for quite some time now. AT&T's service in my area is exceptional but not outstanding, and Cingular currently has VERY few towers here. When I heard about the AT&T and Cingular merger it brought one question to my mind. When the merge is complete will Cingular be so inclined as to fix the "problem areas" on its network?

Thanks!

To all the whiners that cry cause their phones will not pick up another carriers signal

https://www.phonescoop.com/glossary/term.php?gid=11 »

Check out this glossary listing. Explains to you all why some carriers phones will not pick up a signal, even though another carrier may have towers in the area. I have read to many complaints about this issue......and I wanted to find a good way of referrencing it. I just have 😁

Cingular Pride

I have to say that I'm proud to be a Cingular agent. All these guys on here run Cingular down and talk about how great Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, and whoever else is.

But think about it: Cingular has converted to GSM in a brief period of time and is now acquiring its next biggest GSM rival. Say what you want, but no other company is as aggressively moving forward on a nationwide scale.

And what was up with all these guys correcting everyone saying it's a merger, not a buyout. Cingular is buying ATTW. Read the headlines. And there are no indications that the name Cingular is going anywhere.

Wake up people. There will be a new number one.

True or False??

sombody in CS just told me
1) that they were adding 2 towers within 5 miles of my address (07960)
2) they are adding some kind of enhancers to the towers
3) they are starting some pre merging agreements with AT&T
4) they are changing towers in my area from 1900 to 850

is any of the above true?? does anybody have any details on it??

Thanks so Much!!!

SE T226 and the "wind tunnel"

Whenever I use my T226, the person on the other end tells me it sounds like I'm in a wind tunnel. I got it in October from Cingular. They've swapped it out for me four times now, but the problem persists. It's not the network, because my family's other phones get great results on the same network.

SE told me that all they can do is have me send the phone in for repair -- which will take at least 21 days!

Has any one else experienced this problem? Any suggestions?

Attn: Cingular Managers (or any network people....)

we all know that there are many area's that AT&T customers are now able to roam for free on Cingular (due to the fact that AT&T is losing many customers)

so I wanted to bring to your attention 2 things;

1) Many of my friends who have been with Cingular for years, on the TDMA, and upgraded last year to GSM, are now canceling and going over to Verizon, (due to the fact that the Cingular's GSM is VERY BAD in North Jersey)

2) And many of my friends, (including my Parents), who have been on AT&T, (and I convinced them to try out Cingular, instead of Verizon), have tried Cingular, and have gone to Verizon, AGAIN DUE TO LACK OF "GOOD" COVERAGE HERE IN NORTH JERSEY.

Therefore I think it only makes sense, that this roaming agreement shoul...

Calling All Cingular Users in DC

😎

I live in Washington DC and am currently a Sprint user. I am going to switch carriers, and Cingular is #1 option I think. Wanted to know if anyone uses Cingular in the Washington DC area, and how the coverage is, both inside and outside of buildings.

Also, if people from other major cities could comment on cingulars coverage too - as outside of DC I would probably use the phone most in cities like NY, LA, SFran, Miami.

Any phone recommendations are also appreciated. Thanks everyone
