8125 vs 8525

ive have done research on both of those and to me the main difference is the price..( not including the cam difference and the voice difference and the weight)

Can anyone really say why the 8525 is the better phone.. because i might just end up getting the 8125 because it will be so much cheaper, not that money is an issue, but hey... ya know..

I am also buying it retail(without a new contract) so the difference in price will very much be there...

Audible Interference - Anyone Else Experience?

I'm getting audible interference while my phone is inactive - about two seconds of a "buzzing" sound every 30 seconds or so. I first heard it in the car this morning, so it's not being caused by any device I have here in my office.

Anyone experience that and find a cause? Or am I bringing a defective phone back to Cingular today?

MALFUNCTIONING RINGTONES

I bought a Cingular 8525 about two weeks ago. I'm very impressed with it so far. I am having some difficulty with ring-tones though. I downloaded a few music ring-tones from the Cingular website. When I apply any of the ring-tones as the incoming call tone they are very "jumpy" and they seem to "skip". When I play the tones on the phone's media player they run perfectly smooth. I uninstalled and reinstalled them with no luck. Also there are several music ring-tones on the phone that were downloaded to it from a disk at the store where I bought it, and they all work well. The problem seems to be with tones downloaded from Cingular. When I have a few minutes I'll get on the phone with them. Is anybody else having this type of problem? Any...

Accessories - Comment and Question

First the good news, the power connection works great with a USB to USB-mini and charges from either my Mac or PC. ( Its also the same cable as my Canon digital camera meaning I can travel with a lot less cables). Also my old power adapters for my Razr work fine: both the car and wall power chargers.

Question: I am looking for a wired headset. Don't care for Bluetooth. Does one exist? Any recommendations?

I have tried to use the Moto 700 and when I first pair it .. it works flawlessly but

if someone calls and I try to flip open the moto I seem to get it to work

weather I push the button on the moto .. or try and choose switch to head set .. seems to not want to connect

just figured if someone found a better set I would give it a try

oh I have a Plantronics 640 and it seemed to work good but mine doesnt last to long with it turned on .. and if I leave it off and then try power it on during a call its the same issue

Turn 3G off? Reprogram PTT button?

I have noticed that battery life is much better then the phone is being used in a non 3g network, can you turn 3g off in a 3g area? Also can you change the PTT button to do something else, say just go to the phone screen?

Audio over BT

Has anyone figured out how to stream audio over Bluetooth (non-stereo)? I found if you listening on media player, and press the talk button on the headset, it will play through the headset for a couple seconds, then cut out as soon as the Voice tag menu disappears. I know it's possible, but you might have to disable some Voice Dialing option or somethin.

GPS for 8525

Hi,
I am in a big delima. I wanted a GSM PDA phone with GPS. I think this device does not have built in GPS. Am I right? If yes then I need to spend $100 for bluetooth GPS and then $9.99 service and they are saying that I have to have a unlimited data plan.

Actually I wanted to buy this phone to use as a PDA more, but do not want to increase my monthly bill. Can somebody help in understanding the correct features? or what are the other options? Some forum said that verizon 6800 will have built in GPS.. Please help.

A few questions...

First off I have the 8525 and love it. Its great and haven't had any problems yet. I have unlimitied data plan and it has come in handy so far. Just miss my text messaging.
Onto the questions:
1. What kind of case to get? Where do you recommend getting a case?
2. What is the max size of microsd does this phone take? Where is a good place for memory?
3. Is there an easier way to stop the programs? instead going into system and then going to memory to stop all programs. Some sort of software or anything.
4. When will ptt be available for this phone? Isn't there a way to make that button useful now?

Thanks for any information you guys provide.

Master Reset for HTC TyTn / Cingular 8525

Does anyone know hoe to do a Master Reset?

I have a Cingular 8525 that is perpetually locked up during reboot and it won't boot up. The soft reset key does start a reboot but it locks up in the same exact spot. I know on the Palm devices you could hold 2 buttons down for 10 seconds and all data would be erased and default OS settings restored. Is there a similar function on the Cingular 8525 or HTC TyTn?

Thanks

ericsson p990 vs 8525

i have a very hard choice.... i dont know which one to purchase

i love the style of the 8525 and every other feature that it has, however, it does not have infrared and i really want a phone to have infrared.

the 990 has infrared and basically does everything the 8525 does, but i dont really like the look of the p990.

i also heard that the software for the 8525 is way better and more compatible with all other applications so im likin that also..

this phone does have picture id i presume, but what i want to know is, when i assign a picture to a number, when that same number calls me, does the picture take up the entire screen and when i am on the phone with the person, will the picture continue being displayed?? basically what i a...

Case for 8525

Anybody found a case they're happy with for the 8525? I'm thinking I want one without a belt clip, something to protect it in a coat pocket.....

But I'll take recommendations ona belt clip case too. The one they had in the Congy store was for the Treo 680/750 and was a *bit* too snug for the 8525.

TIA.

Cingular Reps unprepared to support 8525

Cingular released a phone before training its reps. I can never get any sound support. This forum is my tech support. Most of the time I tell the reps i have an 8525. And they are confused because they keep thinking 8125. Anyways I am just venting because I find my self educating the cingular reps.
One of the reps offered me a 8125 as a replacement phone for the issues I was having with my 8525.
I asked him why I would pay 400 for a brand new 8525 only to exchange it for a 8125?

Microsoft Money

Has anyone figured out what version of Microsoft Money and what PDA program (Mastersoft/SPB Finance 2.7/others?) actually work with each other? I have Money 2001, which I know would not work with a PDA program of today. However, I have been told that 2007 does not have a PDA program that it works with? Before I buy a new MM 2007, has anyone figured out the right/best combination of the two? Thanks to any and all.
